Beşiktaş closed out the 2024/25 Süper Lig season with a dominant 4-0 away win over Bodrumspor, but heartbreak followed as Samsunspor scored two injury-time goals to beat Kayserispor 2-1 — denying the Black Eagles a third-place finish. 18-year-old rising star Mustafa Hekimoğlu stole the show with his first-ever Süper Lig goal in the 12th minute and added another just before halftime (45+1), finishing the season with a bang after also scoring in the Super Cup thrashing of Galatasaray (5-0) at the start of the campaign. Gedson Fernandes scored his 12th of the season, while João Mário converted a late penalty to complete the rout. In the post-match press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised the performance but admitted the team "didn't lose 3rd place today, but earlier in the season." He remains optimistic for next year, stating Beşiktaş will build a strong squad and benefit from early competitive matches. Due to finishing 4th, Beşiktaş will now enter the 2nd Qualifying Round of the UEFA Europa League, needing to get through three rounds to reach the group stage.

Beşiktaş fell 2-0 at home to Başakşehir after a second-half brace from Yusuf Sarı stunned the Black Eagles. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to field an experimental defense—Gabriel Paulista, Jonas Svensson, Arthur Masuaku, and even Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a makeshift right back—due to multiple injuries and suspensions. Despite dominating stretches of the match, Beşiktaş collapsed after Sarı's deflected opener and a stunning free-kick. Was Sarı fueled by former director Samet Aybaba's harsh words last year? Fans are furious as another opportunity slips through Beşiktaş's fingers in the race for third place and European qualification.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Beşiktaş defeats Galatasaray 2-1, handing them their first Süper Lig loss of the season!
Please COMMENT, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE! Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Beşiktaş have gone from a 6 match win streak to now back to back losses int he Turkish Süper Lig, following last week's abyssmal display against a 10-men Gaziantep. This time the Black Eagles may have hit a new low, as they lost against a 9 men Konyaspor! Despite the circumstances of the match going int heir favour with the hosts being reduced to 10-men in the first half after a horror tackle from Melih Bostan on the returning Gabriel Paulista. Despite being reduced to 10-men however, Konyaspor -- much like Trabzonspor earlier this season -- took the lead on a set-piece. But unlike earlier this season in Trabzon, the Black Eagles were completely unable to fight themselves back int he match. In the second half, with plenty of time on the clock, Konyaspor were even reduced to 9 men after Alassane Ndao saw his second yellow, but Beşiktaş were still completely uncapable of fighting themselves back int he match despite the two men advantage. Potentilaly a new low for them in this already lowpoint riddled season. Watch on YouTube for the best experience! Beşiktaş have won six matches straight under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and have, for the first time this season, won four games in a row in the Turkish Süper Lig. The Black Eagles didn't have the easiest match against Kayserispor however, despite a promising start the visitors restored balance and it took the Eagles until right before halfitme to open the scoreline. In the second half Beşiktaş struggled and were unable to kill off the game until a late penalty, won by substitute Ernest Muci and converted by another substitute Semih Kiliçsoy sealed the deal for the Black Eagles! Please COMMENT, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE! Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Beşiktaş have come from behind to beat Şenol Güneş' Trabzonspor -- who had been creeping up to the Black Eagles in the standings in recent weeks -- thanks to goals from Rafa Silva and Milot Rashica. Despite being at fault at the 0-1 from Simon Banza in the 17th minute, Rafa managed to redeem himself in the second half after magestically brushing in a shot past Ugurcan early in the second half. Several minutes later Milot Rashica completed the comeback after a Trabzonspor defender deflected the ball in his own goal. The Black Eagles held on to their narrow lead and kept all 3 points at home against their former success coach Şenol Güneş, earning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first big win in the Turkish league against a historical rival. Please COMMENT, LIKE & SUBSCRIBE! The Black Eagles have firmly planted their feets on the ground again following a disappointing 1-1 draw away against Antalyaspor. Beşiktaş had taken the lead in the 79th minute through Rafa Silva, but could only hold on for about 6 minutes before the scores were level once again. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave chances to some different players in this match, perhaps to see who he can build on going forward but the experiment seems to have disappointed the new boss. Al-Musrati and Rafa both got booked against Anatalyaspor, meaning they'll miss the next league match against Sivasspor, both cards were terrible referee decisions aswell. In other news Beşiktaş are looking in to a loan move for Fenerbahçe's 27-year old winger Cengiz Ünder, who has found himself struggling for playing time under José Mourinho. Manchester United have won four games in a row! Scott McTominay wins another game for Erik ten Hag's side, who remain five points behind Aston Villa and six behind Spurs but have found some momentum. Rasmus Hojlund's unstoppable scoring march continues to help United achieve a rare away victory at a top-eight side, a first since 2021. With that damning statistic in mind, the key question to ask today - beyond how satisfying was that - is whether this 2-1 victory at Villa Park is a sign of something sustainable or a one-off? Is this harking back to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sides in many ways? Or should we look over some poor moments in an intense 90-minute match given the end result was so good and so valuable? All of that, plus much, much more is answered by hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait on the latest episode of the Manchester United Weekly Podcast where we'll also be playing Guess the Player, giving you an extensive Academy Briefing and previewing Sunday's away match at Luton Town. We also talk Old Trafford. Wembley of the North? That's what they're saying. Rebuild, renovate, demolish, move - what options do we favour? Our Patrons get a bonus 15-20 minute Q&A in which we answer questions like ‘Is McTominay the new Smalling?', ‘why hasn't Ten Hag implemented a successful plan?' ‘if Ten Hag could give out a managers' player of the year award who would he give it to, and why is it Scott McTominay' ‘are there opposition players you've begrudgingly enjoyed watching from rivals?' ‘what are De Gea and Phil Jones doing?' ‘which striker should United sign next?' And that's not even it - there's much more! If you want to listen to that bonus section every week and get ad-free episodes and help support our work as we near our 10th series, you can do so by going to patreon.com/UnitedWeeklyPodcast. We chat to Ben from "View from the Ninian" and discuss all things "Cardiffy" - including current form, past managers, Neil Warnock, Vincent Tan, Red Shirts and badge changes, losing a generation of support, weird games, was Kaba really Sorry? Also we discover why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a lettuce! The prediction videos are strange as we have Tommy Mooney's stunt double and Ben and Jarvis appear to have gone very French Avant Garde cinema style! Dave reviews the weekends games and digs into which teams should be concerned about their start to the season. He focuses on which managers might be on the heat, with a particular focus on Erik Ten Hag who's side have made such a poor start and look so devoid of ideas that the Dutch manager must surely begin to feel like he has to up his game and go get his team back on track or risk following David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a failed Manchester United manager.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-epl-index-podcast. On a glorious sunny Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford and in a rare 3pm kick-off, Manchester United delivered with 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho sealing a deserved victory in a must-win game as the Reds close in on that top four spot in the Premier League and Champions League qualification. Three games remain, away at Bournemouth and at home to West London duo Fulham and Chelsea. Two more victories will secure it. If they are as comfortable as Saturday, that'll do. Wolves hadn't a single shot on target while United had nine, and should have scored more. Erik ten Hag aptly reviewed: “Again we make the goalie of the opposition the man of the match.” Down at Wembley on Sunday, things were not so rosy. A world record crowd watched Manchester United Women's first FA Cup final but the Reds couldn't convert a dominant, expectation-shattering first-half display into an advantage and instead it was relentless winners Chelsea who were clinical and won it 1-0 with Sam Kerr scoring in a third consecutive FA Cup final. When the tears dry a little, attention will turn to the WSL title race between the same two sides. On the Manchester United Weekly Podcast this week, Harry Robinson and Jack Tait review the Women's FA Cup Final (1-10 minutes), the men's victory over Wolves (10-35 minutes), the end to the Academy season, some loanee highlights and loads more. Enjoy the show! In the Patreon-only Q&A, we talk Harry Kane, Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
