Hosts Tim Bray and Dr. Robert Spies talk with Brock Dolman and Kate Lundquist, co-directors of the Water Institute at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, about their work on beavers in California ecosystems.Because beavers transform ecosystems and have done so for millennia, a number of other species are adapted to the conditions they create, including many California natives and some threatened species. Dolman and Lundquist are engaged in a project to restore beavers to the landscape wherever possible.

Inside KZYX, hosted by KZYX GM Marty Durlin, offers a glimpse behind the microphone at Mendocino County's community radio station. This episode features an update on the primary transmitter site at Cold Springs; a recap of the Unredacted film premiere, a benefit for KZYX; an interview by Music Director Katharine Cole with DJ Misha, host of Beetroots; and an interview with Membership Director Sarah "Shanx" Shankman. Stuart Campbell returns to the KZYX airwaves to host a program featuring Meg Smaker, who will appear in Ukiah on Friday, September 29th, to discuss her documentary film "Unredacted," at an event at the Mendocino Collage Center Theater. She will speak after a showing of the film.

Walden Bello is a human rights and peace campaigner, academic, environmentalist and journalist who was born in the Philippines. He is one of the leading critics of the current model of economic globalization, and discusses the Chilean coup of 1973 in this context.

Quique Cruz is a Chilean-born musician, composer, writer and filmmaker who has created, performed, taught, and recorded Latin American music for more than 30 years. He is interviewed by Loreto Rojas and Cal Winslow about the 1973 Chilean coup.

Mike Gonzalez is professor emeritus of Latin American studies at the University of Glasgow. He is the author of several books on Latin American history, and is interviewed here by Loreto Rojas and Cal Winslow about events surrounding the 1973 coup in Chile.
