Your glutathione levels may also be affected by certain diseases, such as cancer, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), Type 2 diabetes, hepatitis and Parkinson's disease. Glutathione provides a wide array of health benefits, thanks to its powerful antioxidant properties. Some of these benefits include:1.Helps fight oxidative stress — Low levels of glutathione have been linked to high oxidative stress, which may lead to a number of serious health issues, like diabetes, cancer and rheumatoid arthritis, to name a few.2. Helps prevent anemia in patients with chronic renal failure — Research shows that glutathione may help increase the levels of red blood cells in in patients who are suffering from chronic renal failure and undergoing hemodialysis, making it a useful compound for the treatment and management of anemia in patients with kidney disease. 3.Helps treat psoriasis — Psoriasis vulgaris is a common autoimmune disease that's linked to higher levels of oxidative stress and systemic inflammation. More precisely, it is understood that unsaturated fats cause lipotoxic acute pancreatitis, and the sepsis and multisystem organ failure seen in serious COVID-19 cases closely resembles this disorder. The approach they suggest, namely early egg albumin and calcium supplementation, is thought to be advantageous since they are known to bind unsaturated fats, thereby minimizing organ injury. Doctors in China quickly realized after beginning to treat patients with COVID-19 that nearly half of those who were dying also had high blood pressure (hypertension).9 Researchers used retrospective data from a hospital dedicated only to the treatment of the infection in Wuhan, China, to evaluate the association. An analysis of 2,877 patients was done; this included 29.5% of whom had a history of high blood pressure. They found that those with high blood pressure had double the risk of dying compared to those who didn't. This included patients who had a history of high blood pressure but were not taking any medications. A second comorbidity with an increased rate of severe disease and mortality is diabetes. Researchers gathered data from the National Health Service England to characterize the features of U.K. individuals who may experience severe COVID-19 You can also check out the current Medical Symposium on Immune System Regulation as well as recent studies around Glutathione and the Immune System by my company here blog.max.com/hcp or visit max.com/1981142 for the science breakthrough products sources and references: https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2020/06/26/high-blood-pressure-increases-covid-19-death-risks.aspx https://bestpractice.bmj.com/topics/en-us/223 https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/71/15/896/5818333 https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-hypertension/blood-pressure-drugs-linked-to-lower-covid-19-mortality-study-idUSKBN23B3FL https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/jocd.13443 https://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-prevalence.html https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.23.20076042v1 https://academic.oup.com/eurheartj/article/41/22/2058/5851436 --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/support
Other Natural Zinc Transporters — Quercetin and EGCG; Two zinc ionophores were investigated in a comparative study published in 2014: quercetin and epigallocatechin-gallate (EGCG contained in green tea), noting that many of the biological activities of these compounds may actually be linked to their ability to increase the absorption of cellular zinc. Should zinc turn out to be in short supply, consider eating more zinc-rich foods.12 Examples include hemp, sesame and pumpkin seeds, cacao powder, cheddar cheese, and seafood such as oysters, Alaskan crab, shrimp and mussels. To this you could also add niacin (vitamin B3) and selenium, as both play a role in the absorption and bioavailability of zinc in the body. For example, a study published in 1991 demonstrated that when young women were on a vitamin B3-deficient diet, their serum zinc declined, suggesting B3 deficiency affected zinc metabolism such that “absorbed zinc was not available for utilization.” Sources and references: https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2020/04/20/zinc-dosage-for-immune-system.aspx https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25050823/ https://www.worldhealth.net/news/foods-high-zinc/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1957821/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/support
1. Heart Healthy Magnesium; Magnesium has been shown to benefit your blood pressure and help prevent sudden cardiac arrest, heart attack, and stroke, yet an estimated 80 percent of Americans are deficient in this important mineral. 2. Zinc for Immune Support Pumpkin seeds are a rich source of zinc (one ounce contains more than 2 mg of this beneficial mineral). Zinc is important to your body in many ways, including immunity, cell growth and division, sleep, mood, your senses of taste and smell, eye and skin health, insulin regulation, and male sexual function. 3. Plant- Based Omega- 3 fats Raw nuts and seeds, including pumpkin seeds, are one of the best sources of plant-based omega-3s (alpha-linolenic acid or ALA). We all need ALA, however, ALA has to be converted by your body into the far more essential omega-3 fats EPA and DHA -- by an enzyme in which the vast majority of us have impaired by high insulin levels. So, while pumpkin seeds are an excellent source of ALA, I believe it is essential to get some of your omega-3 fats from animal sources, such as krill oil, as well. 4.Prostate Health Pumpkin seeds have long been valued as an important natural food for men's health. This is in part because of their high zinc content, which is important for prostate health (where it is found in the highest concentrations in the body), and also because pumpkin seed extracts and oils may play a role in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, or enlarged prostate). Research suggests that both pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin seeds2 may be particularly beneficial in supporting prostate health. 5.Anti-Diabetic Effects 6.Heart and Liver Health Pumpkin seeds, rich in healthy fats, antioxidants and fibers, may provide benefits for heart and liver health, particularly when mixed with flax seeds 7.Tryptophan for Restful Sleep Pumpkin seed oil has been found to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects. One animal study even found it worked as well as the anti-inflammatory drug indomethacin in treating arthritis, but without the side effects 8.Anti-Inflammatory Benefits Pumpkin seed oil has been found to exhibit anti-inflammatory effects 9.Benefits for Postmenopausal Women Pumpkin seed oil is rich in natural phytoestrogens and studies suggest it may lead to a significant increase in good "HDL" cholesterol along with decreases in blood pressure, hot flashes, headaches, joint pains and other menopausal symptoms in postmenopausal women. sources and references: https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/09/30/pumpkin-seed-benefits.aspx https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/journal-of-diabetes-and-its-complications https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7784309/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21709398/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18938206/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/support
Your liver often generates several of the proteins for blood plasma in addition to detoxifying your blood, transforms excess sugar into glycogen, and helps regulate the output of glucose.18 Your liver is also responsible for controlling mechanisms of blood clotting, preventing infections, and clearing bilirubin that is formed when hemoglobin breaks down Silymarin provides your liver with significant benefits, including the ability to increase glutathione, which is a strong antioxidant that is important for liver detoxification.19 Studies have also found that it can help regenerate your liver cells, promoting the only organ in your body that can regenerate. Risk factors for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease include obesity, diabetes, high triglyceride levels and poor eating habits. The condition is sometimes called a silent disease because you may not experience any symptoms and many people may live with the condition without developing further liver damage.24 If NAFLD progresses with signs of inflammation and cell damage, it is called nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) You can also check out the current Medical Symposium on Immune System Regulation as well as recent studies around Glutathione and the Immune System by my company here blog.max.com/hcp or visit max.com/1981142 for the science breakthrough products Sources and References: https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2021/01/18/milk-thistle-promotes-liver-function.asp https://www.naturallivingideas.com/milk-thistle-benefits/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nutrition-point/support

Need more benefits? Dandelion greens are high in inulin and pectin, which are soluble fibers that may help your body feel full longer, assist with weight control and maintain optimal cholesterol levels. These greens also contain vitamins C and B6, thiamin, riboflavin, calcium, iron (crucial for generating red blood cells), potassium (to help regulate heart rate and blood pressure), magnesium and manganese Dandelion greens also give the body 112 percent of the daily requirement of vitamin A, as an antioxidant carotenoid, which is particularly good for the skin, mucous membranes and vision. As for anti-inflammatory foods you should eat more of, vegetables are a key staple. Dark leafy greens such as kale, collard greens and Swiss chard contain powerful antioxidants, flavonoids, carotenoids and vitamin C that can help protect against cellular damage. Ideally, opt for organic locally grown veggies that are in season, and consider eating a fair amount of them raw. If you struggle with autoimmune disease or have significant inflammation in your body, though, consider limiting vegetables with high lectin content. In his book, “Circadian Code: Lose Weight, Supercharge Your Energy and Sleep Well Every Night,” Satchidananda Panda, Ph.D. cites research showing that about 90% of people eat across a span of 12 hours, and many across even longer timespans. When you eat throughout the day, your body adapts to burning sugar as its primary fuel, which down-regulates enzymes that utilize and burn your stored fat. Unfortunately, this is a surefire way into metabolic disaster, radically increasing your risk for obesity and chronic degenerative disease. The intermittent and partial fasting regimen described in KetoFast essentially mimics ancestral eating patterns, allowing your body to work optimally by allowing for periods of breakdown and cleanout, and periods of rebuilding and rejuvenation. One way that your body promotes this is through autophagy, which is the body's innate cleanout process, in which damaged mitochondria, proteins and cellular components are digested and then recycled during the regeneration phase, which occurs during refeeding.
