Building on our last episode where we talked about Gratitude, this episode is all about Attitude. Having a positive attitude comes from having a grateful heart and a thankful spirit. A positive attitude is about having faith and believing everything will work out fo the best.Although I had a wealth of enthusiam naturally flowing through me from an early age, I learned at the age of 10 the amazing power of a positive attitude. I learned this from Walter Payton, a NFL Hall of Fame running back and in my opinion the greatest running back of all time. I hope today’s episode inspires you to pursue a positive mindset, to start your day with gratitude, to truly live each day... to laugh heartedly, to learn, love and give love. Pursue that feeling of equal parts excitement and terror. Feel the fear and do it anyway! Everything you want in your life...is on the other side of fear! All of these quotes have one thing in common. Fear. Listen in to today's podcast to learn more about the true power of fear -- or better yet -- the lack of power fear truly has on us. :)
I recently watched on YouTube a video of Denzel Washington giving a commencement address to recent college graduates. In the video, Denzel talks about “Falling Forward” - and this sparked a thought I had about my own life and how Positivity can play a a massive role in how we fall forward, overcoming our fears and growing from failure. It took a heart attack for me to hear my heart's voice...and to embrace life to the fullest. My wish for you is to listen to your heart and pursue that which makes your heart and soul come alive. Here is to being afraid...and going for it anyway!Everything we want in life...is on the other side of fear!
Gratitude is first step to living a positive life. Filling our hearts and mind with gratitude...and giving thanks for all of life’s blessing is the key to having a positive mindset. And what we think about...we manifest into our lives so a positive mind makes for a positive life. As this is my 20th episode, I want to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for you and for life. I love life…every single aspect of it!!I love the exciting opportunities that come with each new day. I love the joy, the laughter, the value I get from interacting with others at workI love spending time and just hanging out with my wife and kidsI love meeting new peopleI love helping people. I love making a positive difference in peoples livesI love lifeI love my lifeI am blessed and I am thankful for the gift of life.I thank you and wish you love and happiness as you pursue that which brings your soul, your heart, your life great joy and satisfaction. That which makes your soul come alive. So, as you embark on your day today — cherish the day - be happy in the moment — be positive - be grateful. Make time to LAUGH, LEARN, LOVE and GIVE. All of my best,
Let’s face it, we all encounter a variety of life challenges, difficulties and setbacks. They are an unavoidable and inevitable part of being human. These events can stress us out and bum us out - and if we don’t build up the positive energy within us - they can completely disrupt our life and our happiness....That is, if we let them. By learning how to manage stress and respond with a positive attitude to each challenge, you’ll grow as a person and start moving forward in life. And here is the secret… The secret is to recognize the inevitability of temporary disappointments or defeats, and accept them as a normal and natural part of life. This is about responding to problems with a positive attitude, learning from them, and moving forward in the direction of your dreams. There is a natural tendency in all of us to react emotionally when our expectations are frustrated in any way. When something we wanted and hoped for fails to materialize, we feel a temporary sense of disappointment and unhappiness. Since our conscious mind can only hold either a positive or negative thought at one time, we have to make a choice.. and if we deliberately choose to think positively, we keep our mind optimistic and our emotions positive.Since your thoughts and feelings determine your actions, you will tend to be more constructive, and you will continue moving forward toward your dreams - with a happier and more positive mindset. So how do we stay positive during times of stress, moments of disappointment, setbacks, frustration? Here are some simple tips - and the hint for those who have listened before… these are not new! :) Step 1: Change the word you use - instead of problem, think of it as a temporary challenge - or even better - a new opportunity to learn and grow. Step 2: Make the conscious choice to NOT let this get you down. In fact, as part of your daily gratitude exercises, resolve in advance that no matter what happens today, you will not allow it to get you down.Step 3: Talk to Yourself. Daily positive affirmations will keep any negative thoughts or emotions at bay. In other words, “you are what you think you are” so think beautiful, successful, loving and positive thoughts and see how amazing your day will be. Remember, it is impossible to learn and grow without adversity, without difficulties. These are inevitable - but they are also temporary - and they are most certainly opportunities to learn, grow, love and live. So as you embark on your day today —look at everything as an opportunity to learn and grow toward your dreams!
Welcome to episode 18 of Positive Pods, titled Two Wolves. An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy, and truth.”The boy thought about it, and asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?”The old man quietly replied, “The one you feed.” -Author UnknownFor me, I choose the wolf of Good. I choose positivity - I know in my heart positive thoughts and positive beliefs bring positive energy that generates positive results and experiences in my life. So, I choose to be happy — and find happiness in all of the many moments throughout the day. In other words, I choose to feed the wolf of love and hope. So, as you embrace this gift of life, as you go through your day today, I encourage you to make the positive choice - choose to feed the Wolf of joy, love, and hope. Choose to look at the positive side of life - look at life as the glass half full -filling up with every positive thought, every positive affirmation. And as always, cherish today - be grateful - and spend time laughing, learning, loving and giving love. Give love and help someone in any little way today. Do something that brings positive energy into someone’s life today. If you do this… if you fill your heart and soul with gratitude… if you fill your mind with positive thoughts… if you make time to laugh, learn, love and give love to others…. I guarantee you will have an AMAZING day!
Welcome to episode 17 of Positive Pods!We are all gifted with a unique, inner voice, a inner “all knowingness.” This is the voice that is in your heart, in your gut, below the surface of your every day, externally-focused mind. And by building a relationship of trust with this voice, it can lead to an empowered life filled with positive and amazing experiences. Your inner voice is always there… reminding you and gently nudging you to pursue your life’s true passion, your life’s true calling..your individually unique purpose. This is the voice that will unlock all that you desire. It whispers to you softly, subtly, so to hear it, to listen and truly understand…you have to get in tune with it. Start to pay attention, and you will slowly begin to hear your own voice - your true voice from within. Listening for your inner voice is like training a new muscle. It won’t happen overnight, but if you continue to practice…to hone it…the more amplified and clear it will become—like tuning into the right frequency. Personally, I do this by meditating and sitting in silence… and by surrounding myself with people who support me, my positive beliefs and my dreams. If you are interested, check out life hack's website linked below for more information on ways to tap into your inner voice. https://www.lifehack.org/804051/inner-voice
Hey Positive Podsters, how many times a day do negative thoughts enter your mind? Is your inner conversation focused more on what is wrong in your life or what you don't have? Or is it focused on what is great in the world, in your life and all of the possibilities all of the amazing opportunities today brings for you to laugh, learn, love and life? Your thoughts have a powerful force on your life, on your health, wealth, relationships, and overall happiness. As Dr. Wayne Dyer stated, “What You Think is What You Become” and “ As you think, so shall you be.” Train Your Brain! What you choose to focus on - what thoughts you allow to "set up camp" in your mind determine what energy comes your way. You have a choice - think positive and generate positive experiences and results in your life... or think negative and get negative results.
Welcome to episode 15 of Positive Pods on the Positive Radio Network. Today, we're diving a bit deeper into two topics: visualization and visioning.Visualization is an amazing way to bring positive results into your life from the outside in.Visioning is a phenomenal way to bring out your true life, from within. There are tons of books, videos, articles, and websites on both subjects. To get started, here are a few links to material shared on today Positive Pod.Visualization: The Secret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjmK8aJu5QgScott Burrow's story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ2PyDP_-xMVisioning: Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith "How to Use Visioning To Find Your Life Purpose" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFsYtYF1UHk
Today's episode is about converting positive thoughts into positive action. This is inspired by a quote from Arthur Ashe: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” For me this is about having the courage to break through the fear of (potential) failure. It is about letting go of the need to figure out the perfect answers to all of the thousands of “what-ifs” associated to my life goals. Arthur Ashe’s quote reminds me that it is not about waiting to be perfect, or having everything figured out before we take a leap of faith. Before we start living the life we want… the life we are destined to live. It is about taking action - it is about getting out of our own heads... and take a simple step forward. It is about starting where you are, using what you have and doing what you can… today at this moment. This is how we grow, how we learn and how we progress. It is about being grateful, being positive, being courageous, and doing something today to make your life and the life of others a little better. That is what this Podcast is all about. So…what have you been thinking about doing with your life that you have not yet started? What changes in your life do you want to make - what dreams do you want to have come true? Whatever it is, all I ask is that you do something today - take a courageous action - no matter how small. Start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can, today to begin moving toward your goal, your dream.I believe in you. You were born to be great - you are unique . You are one in 7 billion - there is no one like you - you have unique gifts, skills, talents, passions - you are special and you have a purpose - you can make a difference in this world, in your neighborhood, in your community, in your industry, for the planet…whatever it is you want to do - can can do it. So go out and live today! Go out there with gratitude in your heart, positive beliefs in your mind…and take one simple and courageous action toward your goals. And as you do… be sure to make time to laugh, learn, love and give love to others along the way. If you do this…I know you will have an AMAZING day…and you’ll be one step closer to achieving your dreams.Stay Positive!Jim
Today, I want to talk about the amazing physical benefits that come from having a positive, grateful and optimistic mindset. It all comes down to what I believe is a simple and yet very profound thought: We are what we believe. And, what we believe is what we achieve. So if you believe you are healthy, if you believe you are wealthy, if you believe you're blessed, then you already are...and will continue to be.Alternatively if you believe you are unwell, if you are not worthy of love, of wealth, if you believe the world is out to get you or that you won’t achieve what you want out of life.. you are and will be. As Henry Ford said, whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right”Listen in and let me know your thoughts. Also, below is a link to the documentary and a few books I mentioned on today's podcast. Stay positive!JimMark C. Episode 12: COURAGE. It is what the lion wanted from the great wizard of Oz. It is what enables him to confront his fears and become the King of the Jungle. And like the movie showed, courage was something the lion found from within. When we start each day and fill our hearts, minds and souls with GRATITUDE…When we see everything in life through a positive lens...as a blessing - a gift to learn, to grow, to love and to live...When build up within our internal believe system a steadfast and unwavering belief in ourselves and in our dreams. When we truly believe..deep down in our core…in our bones…in our DNA… We are building up our courage. Every grateful thought…every positive belief… fills our courage tank… and this is the currency we need to spend if we want to achieve our dreams. We need to be courageous - we need to be brave enough to try something new - and we need to believe that as we move out of our comfort zone, as we attempt new things, we believe that positive things will come from it. As another one of my favorite quotes states…”be brave enough to suck at something new today”Know that if you are brave and go out to try something new, odds are you will not immediately or instantly be the greatest of all time. Even the great HOF basketball player, Michael Jordan, was cut from his HS basketball team..and has probably missed more shots than he has made in his career… but he had the courage to pursue his dream — and the unwavering positive belief to achieve it. Courage is what moves us forward toward our dreams… it is what moves us forward toward our fears…the fear that has held us back in the past. You’ve heard me say it before…”Everything you ever want for your life…every dream…every goal..everything you want for yourself and your family… is on the other side of fear. Courage pushes us toward our fear…believe is what enables us to break through the fear…gratitude is what keeps us grounded and centered along the way. So as you listen to this episode...know this:You were born to be great! You are destined to live an amazing, wonderful life! And do this:Start each day with a grateful heart — Believe in your unique gifts, your unique passion, your unique life…Have courage to go for it…to take a step forward every day. And make time to laugh, learn, love and give love to others along the way. If you do…if you make time to laugh, learn, love and give love and appreciation to others….if you live today with gratitude in your heart, positive beliefs in your mind…and take courageous actions each day...I know you will have an AMAZING day…and you’ll be one step closer to achieving your dreams. Thanks,Jim
Hey there, Positive Podsters. Today's episode is covering off the second of three key elements to a positive, happy and fulfilling life. In episode 10, we shared the first element, Gratitude. And in this episode, we build on gratitude with BELIEF. As the saying goes, "if you believe, you can achieve." And I believe this is absolutely true. You have to believe - you have to have an unwavering belief in a positive future for yourself. You have to believe that abundance, that health, wealth, happiness, that everything you want or desire is possible - and not only possible - but destined to happen. Do you believe? Listen in on what the power of belief - combined with a heart of gratitude - can do to generate an amazingly positive, happy and fulfilling life for you and those around you. All of my best, Jim
Welcome to the podcast dedicated to sharing some positive thoughts and ideas to help you live each day in a positive way. Today, we're sharing two tips to help you bookend your day with gratitude. Gratitude is one of three key elements that can help us all live more positive, fulfilling lives. Having a grateful heart is what generates the positive energy within us and around us - and it is this energy that attracts positive outcomes and positive experiences throughout the day. What do you do to fill your heart with gratitude? Try these two simple techniques each and every day for one month and you'll be amazed at how you feel and the happiness, joy and positive experiences that manifest in your life and for those around you. (p.s., stay tuned for the other two key elements coming up in episode 11 and 12). All of my best, Jim
"There is no path to happiness…. Happiness is the path" - Buddha. For a long time, I thought happiness was something I had to go out and find. I though it was a destination. On top of that, I thought happiness was something I could buy. I'd be happy once I had that new car, or once I bought that big house, or that new watch...it went on and on...and I was no more happy than before. Sure there were moments of happiness but those moments were fleeting and shallow.Deep and lasting happiness isn’t something we can buy….and it is not a destination.Happiness is who we are — it is within us - it is our state of mind — it is our positive outlook on life. Happiness is a way of life. It is a state of mind. Our thoughts are who we are so if we are positive, if we are grateful, if we are generous with our love and if we give to others...if we have self-love, if we believe in the goodness’s in life, then we will feel happy. In this episode, I share a brief story of my family trip to Hawaii, our adventure on "the road to Hana" and how it showed me where real happiness comes from. Have a listen and share your thoughts about what makes you happy. Mahalo!
Hey there positive podsters, In this episode, we'll spend time talking about the power of gratitude, thanks to some great advice from Jen Sincero, author of the book "You are a Badass." Jen's badass calendar is one I use every day and in it this week, Jen writes..."Gratitude is the gateway drug to awesomeness. The more consistently you stay in gratitude and focused on that which is good, the stronger our connection to SOURCE ENERGY is, and the more quickly and effortlessly you’ll be able to manifest that which is unseen into your reality. "This really hits home for me and affirms my belief that gratitude plus positivity = a very happy and fulfilling life. Listen in and let me know your thoughts...and, if you are interested in learning more about Jen and her Badass series, be sure to check out her website, pick up one of her books or her daily badass calendar, you will not be disappointed. :) https://jensincero.comEnjoy and Stay Positive!Jim
I recently received a really interesting question: How can I be happy all the time? The answer is simple, I am not happy...ALL of the time. Although I am happy most of the time, there are moments when I am not.Sometimes, stuff happens… Life throws me a curve balls...and I too experience hard times and some of those “bad days’ that can deplete any happiness I feel at the time. For me, this is natural and in fact I really want to feel every emotion I have. If I am sad, I’m sad, if I am angry, frustrated, disappointed, whatever I am feeling is how I am feeling. For me, the key is not about how I feel... but what my mindset is about how I feel. In other words, staying positive doesn’t mean you have to be happy all of the time. Staying positive means that even on those hard days - those dark days — those challenging times — you know deep down - you believe in your heart and your mind — that there are better days coming. It is about having a positive outlook about the future. So today, try looking at any challenge you face as a learning opportunity. Believe in the positives that can come out of the experience. Believe in yourself and believe in a bright and successful outcome.
Every day, in fact every moment of our life, we have a choice. We have the power and the control to decide how we feel, how we respond, how we react and how we act.One of my daily affirmation calendar from Dr. Wayne Dyer talks about personal and liberating power of choice. I see this manifesting on two critically important levels. First, in our thoughts. Quoting Wayne, he says “Be aware at any given moment in your life that you always have a choice about the thoughts you allow in your mind.” For me, this means stay connected to yourself, be in the moment of your life, be conscious of your feelings and your thoughts. Because every thought we have - is a choice as to how we want to feel, think and view this world. If we choose to entertain negative thoughts, if we allow negativity to take hold in our mind, we are actively choosing to promote negative energy in our life - and this attracts negative energy into our life (remember the universal law of attraction which states energy attracts like energy). So ultimately, our happiness - our success - all begins with a choice - and it all starts with our daily thoughts which have the power to either hinder us with fear and negativity or empower us with confidence, courage and positivity. So the choice is ours.
What is the difference between ordinary and extraordinary? it is that little "extra"...In this episode, I share some insights from Bear Grylls and Col. Dame Kelly Holmes about never giving up - always going forward... and how a positivity mindset and positive energy can give you that extra umpf you need to overcome challenges as you pursue your dreams and a happier, healthier life. Pendulum Summit 2020https://pendulumsummit.com/#welcomeBear Gryllshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_GryllsCol. Dame Kelly Holmes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Holmes
In this episode, I share some thoughts on a few quotes I came across recently. The first is a quote, which comes fromI one of my daily positive affirmation calendars, is: “The Universe responds to energy.” This is a great quote which aligns very well to the Law of Attraction and what I’ve shared time and time again. Simply put, energy attracts energy so it stands to reason that the more positive energy we create, the more positive results we will generate - in other words happiness creates more happiness. The second quote is one I came across on Instagram. It states, “Be Brave Enough To Suck At Something New” … Now, in addition to being funny, this quote really resonates with me and reinforces the theme for this episode. For me, this about having the courage to do what your heart and soul wants to do but your mind or fears are getting in the way. It is about pursuing our dreams, our true purpose, our true calling. It is about doing something to explore, to learn, to try and fail - which is nothing more than another word for growing. I like this quote because it really sums up my decision to start this podcast. I knew in my heart I wanted to do something like a podcast. I knew in my heart, I wanted to share positivity and enthusiasm with others - I wanted to share what I learned and what I know to help others… But my heart was not the only one talking to me. My mind was talking too, and I would end up getting all tangled up in my mind...twisted with thought about all of the reasons why it might not work. I was thinking about all of the "what ifs"… what if I suck, what if no one likes the topics, what if people don't like my voice, and so on and so on. All of these were really just fear pretending to be rational thoughts. These were trying to keep me “safe” — safe from failure, from embarrassment, from ridicule. But in reality. they were keeping me from happiness. And at the end of the day, these thoughts, the fears, were nothing more than paper dragons. So I was brave enough to suck at something new - by starting this podcast. How will you be brave today? What will you start doing today that you might be a bit fearful about? Whatever it is you start, whatever it is you do, know that I am here with you — rooting for you and sending you positive thoughts all along the way.I hope you enjoy the podcast and please subscribe and share if you do. And remember, today and every day, let's find time to...LAUGH, LEARN, LOVE and GIVE. Thanks,Jim
Hi All,This episode of Positive Pods is about the power of "Do-overs" and how they can have an amazing impact on our life.I first learned about a do-over when I was a young boy playing baseball with my friends. Nearly every summer day, we would all meet up at the local park, someone would bring a bat, a few others would bring a couple of baseballs, and we would all bring a glove. We would divide up into two teams and take the field. Since these pick-up games didn’t have umpires, whenever there was a close play or a dispute about a foul ball or a tag out or whatever, we would all agree in unison and yell out "do-over!"Which meant we would go back and redo the play. What worked on our sandlot baseball field works really well for me today. I use the “Do Over” as a way to reset my positivity when I feel negativity creeping in. Have a listen and let me know what you think...Thanks,Jim
Hello Positive Podsters...Welcome to another edition of Positive Pods, on the Positive Radio Network. My name is Jim Egan and I believe having a positive mental attitude generates positive energy and positive life experiences. This is something I learned both from reading books -- like The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale and the many works from Dr. Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, John Maxwell and so many others -- and through my own life experiences. Through the death of my father, I learned at a very early age that tomorrow is not promised to anyone. I learned that life is precious and every day is a gift. So I vow to live each day to the fullest - by sharing my gratitude, happiness, enthusiasm and positivity with the world. And this podcast series is dedicated to sharing some positive thoughts and a few ideas to help you generate positive energy in your life and in the lives of others, each and every day. In this episode, we look at the meaning of life...As many of you know, I am a big fan of Dr. Wayne Dyer and so I want to share one of his quotes…something I whole-heartedly believe in… a short statement that can has had a long and deep impact on my life."To me, the meaning of life is very simple: It's to enjoy it and make sure you are happy in this moment. That's it." Dr. Wayne Dyer.I interpret Wayne's statement to mean that we should enjoy the gift that is life. We should look at life - at each day we have on this Earth -- as a blessing and a gift. We should look at live in the most positive way and be grateful for the little and simple things in life. Like simply being alive, feeling the sun on our face, the wind in our hair, the love of family and friends. In its purest and simplest form, Wayne's words ring true: the meaning of life is to enjoy it. And to enjoy life, we need to make sure we are happy in the moment. To me, this is not about being happy about everything that happens to us. Stuff happens, the struggles are real. I get that. We all have them and we all deal with stress, disappointments, and setbacks. But for me, what Dr. Dyer is saying is that we make sure we are happy in the moment. To me, this means maintaining a positive attitude and a positive outlook in spite of the struggle. It is about making active choice to be positive - to look at the positives in every situation. Is this easy? Heck no. But is it worth it? Heck yes! Listen in and let me know your thoughts. - Jim
I believe having a positive mental attitude generates positive energy and positive life experiences. This is something I learned from a book I read a long time ago titled "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. (I've included a link to Amazon below if you are interested in purchasing a copy).Positive thinking is very much connected to the first law of the universe - the law of attraction, which is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life.So this podcast series is dedicated to sharing positive thoughts and a few to help you generate positive energy in our lives and in the lives of others.I hope you find this of value.
