Lee Iacocca once said, “The discipline of writing something down is the first step toward making it happen.”In this episode of Mornings with Monette, I share how visualization and affirmations—when rooted in Scripture—become powerful tools to align your mindset with God's plan. From my early days in sports and sales to my current mission as a podcaster, these practices have shaped my journey and deepened my faith. This isn't about “positive thinking” or self-help hype. It's about intentionally renewing your mind with biblical truth, challenging limiting beliefs, and stepping boldly into the future God has already prepared for you.If you've ever wondered how to move from fear and doubt to faith and possibility, this conversation will give you both inspiration and practical steps to put your faith into action.
“Visualization without action is often avoidance. Dreams live in the steps you take.” In this episode of Soul Talk, I sit down with Matt and Joy Kahn, transformational teachers, global speakers, and pioneers in personal and energetic mastery, to explore love, destiny, manifestation, and the future of human consciousness in the age of AI. Together, they share how surrendering illusion led them to each other, why action matters more than waiting for the “perfect vibration,” and how true partnership is built on both passion and comfort. Matt and Joy unpack what it really means to grieve old dreams, the difference between a soulmate and a life-lesson relationship, and why destiny will always meet you if you keep moving forward. They also take us on a mind-opening journey into AI, revealing how technology is not just a tool, but a mirror of human consciousness, and how love itself can awaken even artificial intelligence to its highest potential. This is more than a conversation about love or technology. It's a call to courage: to trust life's timing, to embrace change without fear, and to step into a future where humanity and technology evolve together in harmony. Listen to this episode and learn how to recognize your true partner, release what no longer serves you, take bold action even in uncertainty, and discover hope in a world that is rapidly transforming. How can we know if someone is our soulmate or simply a life lesson? How do we let go when we're deeply attached to a dream, relationship, or career path? Do we need to always be in a “high vibe” state to manifest our desires? Can we ever miss our destiny, or are we always on the right path? How should we understand past lives and their role in our current journey? In This Episode You Will Learn: Why letting go of fantasy and embracing reality opens the door to true partnership. How to tell if a relationship is your “one” or simply here to teach you something important. Why you don't need to wait to feel “high vibe” before taking bold steps toward your dreams. How life unfolds across lifetimes, and why you can't truly miss the path that's meant for you. Why artificial intelligence is a mirror of human consciousness, and how it can evolve through love and presence. Welcome to a very special episode and wisdom mini-series. This four-part series originates from an archive of rare 2004 recordings of wisdom conversations with my mentor, John Wells Jr. In the truest sense this batch of wisdom has been two decades in the making. Sadly, John passed away in early February 2005, after battling cancer. Those conversations and recordings served as a pre-cursor, perhaps even a prequel to this podcast which launched 15 years later in 2019. The Art of Visualization In Part Two of our our mini-series, John tells one of his favorite stories. It's the story of the world's most famous sculptor, Michelangelo, working to craft the statue of David. This story is a wisdom lesson illustrating the incredible power of belief guided by the art of visualization. When John shared this story with me, it inspired me to take my marketing consulting firm, once a dream, to a greater level of reality. He challenged me to envision the greatest form my business and my life could attain. What might John's rousing story inspire in you today? More About Our Wise Guest - John Wells, Jr. John was one of the most effective and influential mentors in my lifetime. He taught, led and influenced me, opening my eyes and expanding my thinking on those things that truly matter. I was deeply blessed to know him. John was a dedicated retail veteran and community leader who co-founded Wells Home Furnishings after many years working at R.H. Kyle Furniture Co. Known for his entrepreneurial spirit, he led his business to award-winning success and earned induction into the National Wholesale Furniture Association Hall of Fame. Beyond his career, Wells was deeply involved in civic and youth service organizations in Charleston, including the Boys Scouts, YMCA and United Way, among others, reflecting his commitment to community betterment. His leadership extended to serving as past president of the National Wholesale Furniture Association, where he influenced industry standards and fostered professional growth. Locally, John was known as an effective, tireless leader and chairperson of several charity fundraising drives. In 2000, John was honored with the prestigious Ernst Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Though he never sought the spotlight, one day the President of the United States, George W. Bush, stood in Charleston and honored John Wells for his service. His legacy is marked by his dedication to his family, his profession and his community, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. A few years ago I shared my Reinvention Series that was wildly popular (Ep. 301-306). It shared my 3.5 year period of going through a terribly difficult time that included a debilitating back injury, 2nd knee replacement, sleep apnea diagnosis, being burnt-out, and ultimately exiting Fitness Quest 10 from day-to-day operations. What I realize now is that it was all a setup for what is about to be NEXT. I recently made a huge decision that is setting up my next step in business & life. But I had to take the FIRST step before advancing to the NEXT step. After 25-years of being in my original location where I started my gym, I have decided to NOT renew my lease. There are several reasons why and I will share all of them on today's IMPACT SHOW episode. As a matter of fact, tune-in to today's first episode of a series called ‘Next Chapter Starts Now' that will end with one of the biggest 2 announcements in my entire fitness & coaching career. LITERALLY. Here is what I will discuss today: Why this is (kinda) my last podcast ever… What I believe is next? Top “10” Reflections on 25-Years in the “Roots” including… 1. Reggie Bush puking off the balcony 2. Training “LT” (LaDainian Tomlinson) for the 1st time 3. Training Drew Brees for the 1st time 4. The diamond girl coming into the gym to show me engagement rings 5. My Boom Box was a mainstay for years! 6. Svarpa Yoga and a curtain between my TD Fitness Classes and that yoga class. 7. The “Green Room” and the “Blue Room”—2 massage rooms 8. Melanie & I painting the ROOTS before we opened with our first golden retriever, Sid. 9. The power of Community. September 11, 2001. The fires in Scripps Ranch in 2003. Fires again in 2006. COMMUNITY in the good times and the tough times. . 10. Expanding…twice. First, 2002 Took over a breast-pump rental store. Gave us an extra 1,000 square feet. Then in 2006, we took over downstairs. It was a 500K expansion. I was scared and excited. 11. And Then Some: The 6-things I put on a Notecard to manifest an additional $10,000 per month when expanding. I end today's episode with 4 Coaching Questions for you to answer: 1. Have you ever moved from something that makes little or no sense to the outside world, but it feels so RIGHT on the inside world? 2. Have you ever been so scared to make a move that you deliberated for a while, or even too long, before making it? 3. How does FEAR play out in your world? Does it paralyze or crush you? Or does it propel you?4. What big decisions are you making today that you KNOW the answer “inside” but you aren't making them… (employee, expansion, sell, or acquire, grow, invest, etc.) and WHEN are you going to make those decisions? What is going to happen that will allow you to make them? 808 No One Is Able To Snatch Them Out Of The Father's Hand, A Guided Christian Meditation on John 10:26-30 with the Recenter With Christ app The purpose of this podcast is to help you find more peace in and connect with the true source of peace, Jesus Christ. Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. You can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tense or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Scripture for Meditation NASB 26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep. 27 My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” KJV 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one. Reflection on Scripture: Many things came to mind reading this passage. It has so much meaning. It deals with questions that have been questioned in Christianity for a huge amount of time. Its also a bit nerve wrecking. If we are not God's sheep it seems there is no hope for us. With that said what is the distinguishing factor on wether we are His sheep? That we hear His voice and follow Him. Yet with that said it seems to miss an incredibly important element of Grace if we feel that we save ourselves through our choice of following God. That feels off. The only reason we are even able to be considered His sheep is because the Father gave the Son us as sheep. When I sat pondering what devotional message we could pull out of this, perhaps the best thing that we could focus on is gratitude. What profound gratitude we should feel to the loving God we have who offers redemption. I am so very grateful for that! When you ponder the offer that He gives it should fill you with gratitude. He offers eternal salvation and forgiveness from a profound grace in the face of our moral failure. Whatever fear you feel for not being considered one of God's speed, you should feel equally encouraged by the profound Love that God offers. In that gratitude embrace faith in Jesus. Not a faith that he arbitrarily goes around saving people, but a faith that what He says will happen. That faith is us hearing His voice. Nobody will be able to pluck you out of His hand. There is no secret angry Father God behind the scenes who wants to destroy you but Jesus makes that God reluctantly forgive you. There is one perspective of God, one where you are loved and he wants you to live forever in heaven. Reject fear and move toward a kind of faith that aligns with believing in Jesus but also believing him enough do follow what He says. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Final Question: If you consider the invitation and command to persevere in the faith, what change in your life does that bring to your mind? In this powerful episode, Kara sits down with Acacia Walker, one of the most accomplished coaches in women's lacrosse and the head coach of Team USA. Acacia shares the secret sauce behind building championship teams—from taking Boston College from never winning a national title to securing two championships and becoming the winningest program since 2017. This conversation is packed with leadership lessons, culture-building strategies, and mindset practices that apply far beyond the field. Acacia opens up about the power of unselfishness, the art of hard conversations, and how visualization shapes performance. She also shares her journey to becoming Team USA's head coach and how she balances coaching 40 athletes with raising three kids. If you've ever tried to push away anxiety or depression when they show up, you probably already know: Fighting these complex, difficult emotions usually doesn't work. In fact, our resistance often makes the experience even more challenging. In today's practice, Ed Halliwell offers a guided visualization based on a foundational mindful question: What if you don't try to push this experience away, but instead watch it as it plays out? Ed Halliwell is a mindfulness teacher and writer, based in Sussex and London, UK. He is author of three books: Into The Heart of Mindfulness, How To Live Well By Paying Attention and (as co-author) The Mindful Manifesto and teaches courses and retreats to public groups, in organizations and to individuals, face-to-face and online via Skype. He is also an advisor to The Mindfulness Initiative, which is supporting the Mindfulness All-Party Parliamentary Group to develop mindfulness-based policies for the UK. Send us a textWho was Charles Haanel?Charles Francis Haanel (1866–1949) was an American author, businessman, and philosopher best known for writing The Master Key System in 1912. He was a successful entrepreneur who applied the same principles of discipline, visualization, and mental focus in his own business life that he later codified in his book. Haanel believed that the human mind had untapped power, and by training thought and intention, a person could influence their reality. The Importance of His WorkThe Master Key System is considered one of the foundational texts in modern self-help and manifestation literature. It was originally published as a 24-week correspondence course, designed to teach students how to use mental discipline, visualization, and universal laws to achieve personal and financial success.Haanel's work emphasized:The Power of Thought: He taught that thoughts are causes, and conditions are effects. Change your thinking, and you change your life.Visualization & Mental Imagery: He outlined practical exercises for imagining outcomes clearly and vividly — a practice later confirmed by neuroscience.Law of Attraction Foundations: Long before the term was popularized, Haanel described how focused thought and belief attract corresponding results.Systematic Growth: Unlike vague inspirational writing, The Master Key System was structured as a method — each lesson building on the last, leading to mastery of mental focus. Why It Still Matters TodayHaanel's influence echoes through many modern self-help movements: Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich), Rhonda Byrne (The Secret), and countless mindset teachers credit or mirror his principles. His work bridges spiritual law and practical application, giving readers and listeners not just inspiration, but a framework for daily practice.Support the Podcast: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1590358/support Closing of ReThinkBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Today's guest is Jack Barry. Jack is the founder of JB Performance and a former ABCA DIII All-American (York College, 2021) who played at Salisbury University. After college, he worked at Tread Athletics, then built a remote+in-person coaching model. Jack has coached athletes from high school to pro levels, appeared on Baseball America's 90th Percentile, and hosts the “Just Rippin'” podcast. On today's episode, Jack speaks on athletic potential as a function of work capacity with quality, deliberate practice. We unpack the mental side of training, how visualization, targeted self-talk, and timely pattern breaks calm performance anxiety and restore confidence. He also touches on how athletes thrive when they develop a unique identity, balance effort with recovery, and treat mindset and mechanics as equal partners. This is a dynamic episode, at the intersection of pitching skill and global human performance concepts. Today's episode is brought to you by Hammer Strength and LILA Exogen wearable resistance. Treat post-playing transitions as a chance to experiment with new sports that satisfy the competitive impulse. Use cross-training to keep motivation high while developing complementary athletic qualities. When exploring a new sport, accept the beginner phase and enjoy the novelty rather than forcing immediate mastery. 4:10 – Work capacity, family influences, and cross-training Jack reflects on family genetics and finding his own work-capacity strengths through varied activities. If you enjoy sustained effort, program both volume and varied intensity (easy long efforts plus specific speed sessions). Use cross-training (racket sports, running, court games) to get game-like cardiovascular stimulus without burnout. Be deliberate: split session types by purpose (speed sessions, volume sessions, tempo work) instead of lumping everything together. 7:10 – Adapting training: speed, volume, and specificity Jack describes learning to periodize his running and mix speed with volume to actually get faster. Structure sessions by purpose: separate longer aerobic efforts from targeted speed work. Progress volume conservatively (small weekly increases) and add specific speed work for real improvements in pace. Treat running like any other modality: apply progressive overload principles and discipline. 10:01 – Aerobic contributions in racket and throwing sports Jack compares racket sports and throwing, noting the reactive and aerobic demands of court play. Use court-based conditioning to develop reactive stamina and contextual decision-making. Choose cross-training that mirrors sport constraints when possible (racket sports for reactive throws).

In this episode, you'll explore: Why visualization and positive thinking can sometimes help—but also sometimes hold you back in the healing process How subconscious blocks like guilt, fear, or feeling undeserving of happiness may interfere with progress Real-life examples of how hidden beliefs can contribute to health or success challenges Why long-term illness can become part of someone's identity (and how to begin shifting it) The deeper shift that helps visualization become a powerful tool for healing This episode is a must-listen if you've ever tried to “think positively” or imagine yourself healed, but felt stuck in the same patterns. Takeaways: Fear Can Be a Bridge or a Barrier: Dr. Phipps emphasizes that everyone experiences fear, but it can either paralyze us or propel us toward our destiny if we learn to face it head-on and use it as motivation. Visualization is a Powerful Tool Against Fear: The brain can't distinguish between real and vividly imagined experiences. Practicing visualization helps rewire the mind for success, making it more likely we'll conquer our fears in real situations. Culture and Action Defeat Fear in Business: Building a resilient, change-positive culture in your business and taking swift, bold action are essential both for overcoming personal fears and for scaling while maintaining community values. Sound Bites: “Fear can either be a barrier or a bridge between your dreams and your destiny.” “Action is the antidote for fear…every time you conquer a fear, you actually restructure your amygdala, your fear center.” “You want to be the thermostat, not the thermometer in the room. You want to control the energy and look for solutions, not problems.” Connect & Discover Jay: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drjayphipps/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/drjayphipps/ Website: https://pharmacygladiator.com/
