I believe the way you choose to look at your life matters.....makes all the difference in the quality of life you experience. Even through the challenges we all face in our daily lives, we still have a choice each day. Will we choose looking at our lives in a way that we can still recognize the blessings in our life, the good people...good things that are present. Things that make us smile or laugh...things we can be thankful for? Or will we choose to look at each day with dread and a my life sucks attitude? Focusing on only the negatives and things you wish were different. You can instead choose to start each day looking for and focusing on the good things in your life, the things that bless you...make you smile, make you remember that there is always good somewhere. You just have to be in the habit of reframing what you are feeling. When you can do that you will be surprised on how that changes the way you see things. Being thankful beings more things to be thankful about! Try it...you'll see for yourself! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sean-lewis4/support

Growing up as a child I had individuals that automatically set the bar low for me just because I had cerebral palsy. I was discouraged to dream...to think of what may be possible in spite of my challenges. This was in complete opposition to the way I was raised. There was a big push back on their part, they tried put me in a box that fit what they felt was the fate of all who have challenges. Thankfully I had the support of many who advocated on my behalf alongside of my mom. Keep dreaming..keep reaching. You never know what is possible. Thinking too much about our past...our mistakes, robs us of the now..today. We are all a work in progress, nobody is perfect but spending all your time in the what it's, if I'd only done this or NOT done this...will rob every opportunity you have to enjoy what's now. Make amends with what's past, learn to forgive yourself. If we don't...5 years down the line we will be thinking the same thing about these days. Life is short...learn to appreciate it's value now. When Coy Orange's father died when he was only 10 years old from cancer, he was angry. Angry at his dad for leaving but even more so he was angry at God for what her perceived as God taking his dad whom he loved and had been extremely close, away from him. He turned away from the God he had once loved, believed in and had a walk with. This was just the beginning of what would become Coy's path of rebellion, trouble with authorities..the military later, bad choices, drug addiction and homelessness. He would stay on this path for many years while losing everything that had mattered in his life and he that loved. One day in despair and hating the man he saw in the mirror, he called out to God. He discovered that God had never left him...it was he who had left God. He began rebuilding his faith and deepening his walk with God. He also found running, it helped replace what he needed while he healed. That's when the pieces of his life started coming back together and the restoration power of God's love began. Today Coy is clean, employed, homeowner and has many deep friendships with those who share his passion and love and support him. Through his running Coy chooses various community organizations to give back to, raising money as he accomplishes one goal after another. He has raised money for the American Cancer Society, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, ALS, The Breast Cancer Foundation and Safenet Services. He is now raising money for Little Lighthouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. LLH is a privately funded school that provides tuition free services for children with disabilities and their families. His restoration through God's mercy and grace has not only turned his life around but is helping others find inspiration, hope and help in the communities he serves. This is a good man. Everyday that you have, you have a choice what kind of day you are going to have regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in. It doesn't mean that in the middle of something less than great that you break out in a song and dance. No. It simply means that we each have a choice to find joy in everyday things, people, good memories, pets, whatever it might be instead of putting all your focus on things we may have no control in. Sometimes we look around and see someone who we feel we have absolutely nothing in common with. We can't relate. There seems to be no common ground. You are wrong. In each of us there is something we share , no matter how small or overlooked it may be. It could be a favorite team, food, vacation spot, love of animals, a hobby, interest or something we feel passionate about. There are many layers to all of us. A quick look from the outside says nothing as to what all is inside that person. Find it. Make that connection if only for a few minutes. It brings out the humanity in all of us, shows someone we see them, we care and are interested. We are sharing the same air...that very same moment in time. Reach out, get out of your comfort zone. You'd be surprised how impactful such a moment can be to others. You never know what someone is going through, what kind of day they have had or news they just received.
