In this week's episode we re-live a fantastic day down the Gate when the Bears secured their first play off berth in four years with a resounding 52-26 victory over Quins. The Bears Way was on display in its full roller-coaster splendour although to be fair they weathered a small storm in the second half and then powered to the finish line, much to the frenzied delight of the majority of the 20,000 fans in the stadium (minus the Quins supporters who, to be fair, seemed very gracious in defeat). The prize? Another visit to one of our happier hunting grounds just down the road.Banana skin? Target on their back? All the pressure on them? The cliches are rolling off our tongues but the bottom line is we have nothing to lose, have a pack that might just cause them a few things to think about and if we get front foot ball then we know we have the weapons to win the battle and propel us further east to the promised land of a first Premiership final. Finally, we run through a bit of AOB which includes questions around the number of season ticket renewals, a debate on whether the the hoops on the home shorts are the in the correct order for middle aged men who drop food down their front, and then a quick sprint to the finish line with a run through of the end of season award winners from the ceremony that took place after the game on Saturday.Running order:0.00 - 6.20: Introduction6.20 - 12.10: Post match soundbites12.10 - 38.54 : Review of the game38.54 - 45.13: Listener contributions45.13 - 53.54: Bath preview53.54 - end: AOBLet us know what you think!

They debate what joining would mean for U.S. independence and suggest Trump might want to rename it the "American Commonwealth." 00:30:00 – Trump's supposed leaked Signal chat about war plans sparks discussion. They joke about secure communication apps, war strategies via Snapchat, and general tech incompetence among elites. 00:40:00 – Gates predicts AI will replace teachers and doctors. The last location with an animatronic band in California is discussed, sparking memories and lamenting the brand's faded glory. 02:00:00 – Final thoughts include absurd, surrealist riffs about AI-generated poetry, Skinwalker Ranch spin-offs, Space Force, and Alex Jones cameos. The show wraps on a chaotic and comedic high. With the entire nation gathered on his final day of life, Moshe warns the people against being seduced by idolatry. The nation, Moshe reveals, is particularly vulnerable to idolatry because of the people whose land through which we have traversed. We saw the Egyptian fascination with idolatry. We saw the various other nations obsession with paganism. Consequently, we are susceptible to mimicking their ways. In this special edition of the Parsha Podcast - the antepenultimate episode of the fifth cycle of The Parsha Podcast - we explore a mysterious and quite inexplicable element of Moshe's warning. Brendan Mullen, CEO and Founder of MKS2 Technologies, has spent an entire career in the Service of others, in and out of uniform. After West Point, combat and time in D.C., Brendan embarked on a path different than most Army Officers. His first exposure into the private sector was as COO of a high-growth start up, then a run for Congress and eventually supporting improv comedy to enter into the government space. What all of these seemingly unrelated things had in common, were honoring those that Serve. Brendan saw an opportunity to be a part of upholding the sacrifice his classmates, brothers and sisters had made by raising his hand and offering his support. Running for Congress showed him the good, bad and ugly of democracy, but taught him about how our most vulnerable citizens are often not prioritized. Helping run a high-growth start up showed him he could adapt to the private sector quickly and there was a living to be made by helping folks integrate into the government space. He shares that building a business is the hardest thing he has ever done (even compared to war zone) and is proud of what his Team has accomplished in nearly 15 years. No one is going to give you the keys to the kingdom, you have to storm the castle to get what you want. This bootstrapping entrepreneur believes it's not about collecting badges and trophies, it about making a difference. Brendan and MKS2 exists to transform lives and continues to push to that summit. Danger at the Drawbridge
Children are creative creatures -- and not just with paints and clay but also with how they approach challenges. We know it's crucial to nurture their creative spirits, but sometimes that's easier said than done. Enter DrawBridge, a nonprofit organization that provides free expressive arts programs to children in domestic violence and homeless shelters, affordable housing facilities, and in communities across seven San Francisco Bay Area counties. In this episode, Tracy Bays-Boothe, Executive Director of DrawBridge, shares about her organization, the power of nurturing the creative spirit, and why she's so excited that DrawBridge is this year's Community Partner for The Gather for Good, which takes place on April 15 this year.
On our AWS episode, we talked briefly about the next chapter of cloud: data warehouses. But what makes them so powerful? Why do enterprises rely on them? And how will cloud customers collaborate on data stored in multiple clouds? We sit down with Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan, the co-founder and CEO of Samooha, a new company backed by Altimeter and Snowflake Ventures to tackle the problem of secure data sharing and collaboration in the cloud. Kamakshi has an impressive background to speak to this problem, having been a part of AdMob (sold to Google), and the founder/CEO of Drawbridge, which sold to LinkedIn. She then went on to work in Microsoft's Office of the CTO, where she obviously had a lot of experience understanding the needs of cloud customers. If you want a better understanding of how enterprises use the cloud, multi-cloud architecture, and how security and privacy works with customer data at scale, this episode is for you! Tonight, we'll read the opening to the 1940 mystery “Danger at the Drawbridge”, part of the “Penny Parker” anthology written by Mildred Wirt, also known by Mildred Benson. The first episode was “The Green Door” and aired on December 5th, 2022. These stories aren't consecutive so don't worry if you didn't hear the first episode. You can pick up on this one just fine! Along with being the heroine of the series, Penny Parker was a high school student turned sleuth who also sporadically worked as a reporter for her father's newspaper. Benson was a journalist and prolific writer, under many pseudonyms, who is best known for creating the Nancy Drew series. The author Benson favored Penny Parker over all the other books she wrote, including Nancy Drew. Her obituary quoted her as saying, " 'I always thought Penny Parker was a better Nancy Drew than Nancy is." — read by V — Support us: Listen ad-free on Patreon Get Snoozecast merch like cozy sweatshirts and accessories Learn more about your ad choices. As the government scrabbles its policy together for Ukrainian refugees, the Labour peer and refugee campaigner Alf Dubs tells Anoosh Chakelian that the response has been a "disgrace". He discusses how the government finds itself on the wrong side of public opinion, why Priti Patel is the worst Home Secretary he's worked with, and why he'd like to see a "more robust" approach to welcoming refugees from the Labour leadership. On this episode of The Therapy Edit's 'One thing', Anna Mathur chats with Steph Douglas, Steph's one thing that she would like to impart to other parents is that having children puts a unique pressure on a marriage and shares her advice for focussing on family foundations. Steph Douglas founded thoughtful gift company Don't Buy Her Flowers in 2014. Prior to running the business, Steph worked in Brand and Marketing and then started a blog, writing honestly about motherhood, relationships and trying to be a grown up while never feeling quite like she knew what she was doing. Posts included ‘When New Mums Get Angry', ‘With this ring, I give you my dregs'', and the postnatal ‘Pulling up the Drawbridge' post that went viral with over 110k views to date. Steph recently launched The Don't Buy Her Flowers podcast, an evolution of the blog, that enables Steph to find out how other people are coping. Or not. The idea for Don't Buy Her Flowers came about when Steph received lots of well-meant bouquets after her first baby, but felt overwhelmed by them and wondered whether there was a more thoughtful gift that offered TLC and encouraged the recipient to take a bit of time for themselves. Seven years on DBHF now has 20+ employees, is in it's second warehouse (a far cry from Steph packing on her bedroom floor for the first couple of years) and saw huge growth during the pandemic as people looked for thoughtful gifts, allowing them to invest in growth as well as, importantly, increase donations to long-term charity partners including Cancer Research UK and introduce some new ones too. Steph has three children under twelve, is married to Doug and loves naps, gin and re-watching films she's seen a hundred times so it doesn't require her brain. After almost 600 days, Australia's borders have finally reopened to millions of citizens, permanent residents and New Zealanders who've been vaccinated. In that time, the closed international border has dramatically reshaped Australian society, in particular its workforce, which is undersupplied without migrants. Today on the Signal, 'Fortress Australia' is finally dropping the drawbridge, but how big is the immigration gap we need to fill? And will people still want in?
