Taking time
After taking a much needed break to refocus and recharge, I'm back and in this episode, I'm sharing why stepping away was exactly what I needed. We'll talk about the pressure of constant creation, the importance of listening to your mind, and how reconnecting with what truly inspires you can reignite your passion. I'll take you through my week exploring some incredible experiences in London from discovering the soulful storytelling of Rahasya Fragrances to being blown away by the craftsmanship at the Beams Expedition Club exhibition. Each moment reminded me of why menswear means so much more than clothes it's about history, culture, and emotion stitched into every garment. And we'll also dive into a major moment for the industry: Grace Wales Bonner's groundbreaking appointment as the first Black woman to become creative director at Hermès a move that marks a powerful shift in how we see creativity and representation in menswear. This episode is about slowing down, finding purpose, and celebrating the artistry that keeps us inspired.
Why taking time to yourself is so important.
The holidays don't start in December. They start now—right here, in the quiet before the whirlwind begins. If you wait until the week of Thanksgiving to get ready, you'll find yourself staying up too late wrapping gifts, juggling family gatherings, cleaning in a frenzy before company arrives, and wondering where all your peace went. In this episode, I'm walking you through the home systems you need in place before the holidays hit—so you can actually slow down, enjoy your family, and still have the space to check in on your business if you want to. Because when you prepare your home now, you create the margin that lets you rest, connect, and be fully present through the season ahead. xoxo, Chelsi Jo . . . . If this episode is stirring something in you—the desire to finally live and work from a place of calm instead of chaos—it's time to take the next step. Inside Systemize to Scale, you'll learn how to systemize both your home and your business so you can move through every season with focus, peace, and consistency. You don't need to keep running on empty or waiting for the “perfect time” to get organized. That time is now. We'll help you build the foundation that allows you to stay present with your family, grow your business with confidence, and finally feel like you're not dropping the ball anywhere. This year, it's going to be different. In today's episode, I'm walking you through four systems you need in place before you take time off so your business keeps running while you rest. This is Part 1 of a special two-part holiday prep series designed to help you actually unplug, enjoy your family, and still feel confident that your business is moving forward. Then—come back Friday for Part 2, where we'll talk about how to prep your home so you can rest, recharge, and not just trade business work for housework. xoxo, Chelsi Jo . . . . ➡️ Want to see exactly how I build these systems inside my own business? If you care about civil liberties, privacy, or simply want to understand how “convenience” can become control, this episode unpacks the debate clearly and calmly — and points to practical next steps. In this episode, I sit down with Gareth Icke (Ickonic) about the rising push for digital ID, mass surveillance, PSYOPs and how fear is being used to rush through big changes. We dig into the timing, the legal routes governments might use, and practical ways you can resist while protecting your families and sanity. What we cover:Why digital ID keeps reappearing in public policy and how it could be pushed through emergency or incremental legislation. The playbook of fear: how terrorist incidents, war headlines or crises are used to fast-track surveillance measures. What “convenience” really costs: data harvesting, facial recognition, loyalty programs and the slow loss of privacy.Practical responses: petitions, community organising, digital hygiene and ways to protect your peace. How to stay informed without burnout — personal resilience & local community supportFollow Gareth & Ickonic: https://ickonic.com/@garethickeickonic@trendingonickonic ⏰ In this episode: 00:00 Introduction: The State of the World00:26 Reflecting on Past Protests and Resilience01:52 Digital ID and Mass Surveillance03:39 Terror Attacks and Government Manipulation05:47 The Role of Media and Public Perception11:25 Mind Control and Social Media Influence18:19 Convenience vs. Freedom24:45 Political Manipulation and Reform27:06 Personal Health and Emotional Well-being28:17 Mental Barriers and Laughter Therapy29:02 Finding Joy in Simple Pleasures29:37 The Importance of Taking Time for Yourself31:26 Connecting with Local Communities31:45 The Role of Humour and Positivity34:01 Digital ID and Privacy Concerns41:00 The Convenience vs. Privacy Trade-off46:22 Standing Together Against Challenges46:49 Final Thoughts and Encouragement52:01 Outro and Sponsor Message

It's been 4 months since I posted the last episode in May, and after a lot of reflection, we're back! In this episode I share some reflections on recognising when you're tired and when things are even a tiny bit out of alignment. Sometimes we don't have the answers and we have to be OK with just sitting in the the unknown, waiting with trust that what's meant to be will be, and may already be. I went to Hawaii last week to do some work (on me) with the wonderful Sam Horn, and surprisingly that opened up a few cans of worms I wasn't expecting. Sometimes we just need to sit in faith.
I'm ba-aack! As we enter the new season of Yes You, I'm taking you into this season in my life and business. Having taken a break, it could be tempting to launch back into full-scale activity, but I'm tuning into a whisper that's asking for something different. It's not about staying in break mode. It's about being in the transition between rest and action. This is a time of tending the soil of my life and business for what will grow next. You may like to ponder where the transition spaces are in your own life, and how you might inhabit them a little more fully. I invite you to reflect (or journal) on this question:What would it mean for me to tend the soil in my life and/or business? And as always, I'd love you to share your reflections with me. Maybe we can help each other explore in a deeper way. :)* * * *From this episode:I'm introducing a new episode format: Mini Mentoring sessions. If you have question to ask, or a challenge you're facing in your business, I'd love to hear from you. In these mini mentoring sessions, I'll take 1 - 3 questions or challenges, and offer my reflections, share my own experience and some advice to help you navigate your way. The Deputy Prime Minister has shaken off accusations from the opposition over the Government's decision to take its time in recognising a Palestinian state. The Government plans to make an official decision in the coming weeks. David Seymour says the Government will take the time needed to decide its stance. In this engaging episode of Coffee & Tea with CarrieVee, CarrieVee welcomes back author, business leader, and master storyteller Dave Moravec for yet another insightful conversation. Dave shares the journey behind his newest book, Echoes to Remember, a sequel to his successful debut, Echoes Across the Tracks. Together, they explore the power of storytelling, time travel, and timeless principles of customer service that bridge both the past and the present.Dave offers a fascinating look into his fictional character Charlie—a seasoned business consultant who finds himself wrestling with the dilemma of whether to reveal his experiences of time travel. Through Charlie's adventures, Dave weaves powerful parables about business, leadership, and customer service. Notably, he challenges the traditional notion that “the customer is always right,” reframing it as “the customer is always the customer,” and shares real-life examples of how businesses can differentiate themselves through responsiveness and personal connection.Carrie and Dave discuss how customer expectations have evolved post-pandemic, touching on topics like service responsiveness, modern communication tools, and how old-school relationship-building lessons remain just as relevant today. Dave also teases future books in his “Echoes” series, from stories set at sea on cruise ships to tales inspired by the chaos of urban streets.Listeners will walk away reflecting on how personal experiences shape their choices, how to serve others more effectively in business and life, and how to translate the lessons of the past into meaningful action today.Writing Prompt: Dave encourages listeners to look back over significant life events—both triumphs and mistakes—and write about what they learned from those experiences, finding connections that shape who they've become today.Contact Dave Moravec:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/davemoravec2018/Email: ddmoravec5@gmail.comWebsite: www.salesmanagerforrent.comPhone: 309.838.1947 Echoes Across the Tracks Book: https://amzn.to/3UAnpcSEchoes to Remember Book: https://amzn.to/40fAKLa Echoes to Remember Coffee and Tea With CarrieVee Podcast Episode: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/coffee-and-tea-with-carrievee/id1514671446?i=1000654785238 Radical Empowerment Method Book on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3Bdp2BC Book CarrieVee for a Speaking Engagement: https://www.coachcarriev.com/contact-me Join the Confidence and Clarity Membership! https://carrievee.com/confidence-clarity-1 Schedule your Discovery Call with CarrieVee!https://schedulewithcarrievee.as.me/?appointmentType=12343596 Step Into Your Big Life Freebie: https://www.coachcarriev.com/stepintoyourbiglifefreebie The Radical Empowerment Method 2.0 Online Course https://www.coachcarriev.com/radicalempowermentmethod2 Get to an EVENT! www.carrievee.com/events Con

How to Split a Toaster: A divorce podcast about saving your relationships
Navigating the Appeals Process in Divorce CasesContinuing our season-long Your Divorce Case series, Seth Nelson and Pete Wright welcome appellate attorney Ceci Berman to discuss what happens when divorce cases move to the appeals court. As a board-certified appellate practice attorney with extensive experience arguing before state and federal courts, Ceci brings deep expertise in family law appeals and complex commercial litigation. The appeals process works very differently from trial court, with strict timelines and procedures that must be followed. Seth and Pete explore with Ceci how appeals aren't simply "do-overs" of the original case, but rather reviews of whether the trial judge made legal errors in their decision. Through their conversation, they break down the machinery of appeals - from filing deadlines to oral arguments before a panel of judges - and discuss what clients should expect during what can be a lengthy process lasting anywhere from 9 months to 2 years.Questions we answer in this episode:What exactly is an appeal and how does it differ from the original trial? How long does the appeals process typically take? What happens if you win your appeal?Key Takeaways:You have just 30 days from the final judgment to file an appealAppeals are expensive and time-consuming - carefully consider if it's worth pursuingWinning your appeal means starting over - potentially with the same judge who ruled against you initiallyThis episode provides an invaluable look at a complex but crucial part of the divorce process that many people misunderstand.
