New SIT Episode: .This week, we have a sort of unorthodox episode - our favorite shows of the past nine months! Over quarantine and being stuck at home we have had a lot more time on our hands; how have we dealt with it(other than this podcast XD)? With the remote in our hands, we have embarked on many a journey with the shows we have watched. Here are some of our favorites, and what they meant to us!In this episode, we talked about: 1. The 40 Year Old Version! An almost 40 school teacher is reaching the point in her life when she looks back and wonders what she has done with it(spoiler alert: not much). How does she choose to solve this? Becoming a rapper! This show has a lot of hidden lessons in between the lines that everyone could benefit from learning.2. Euphoria! This show, headlined by Zendaya, is a masterclass in its presentation, its acting, and its characters. It tells us about the dangers of addiction, the problem of self devaluing, religion, God, life’s meaning, and way more in a way that is an immersive experience.3. The Sound Of Metal! This show follows a drummer and former addict who suddenly loses his sense of hearing. This is one show that perfectly exemplifies the randomness of life. There are things you will never control, including the people around who support you. How do you deal with this uncertainty? This conversation is one that is insightful, memorable, and best of all, full of the best recommendations for your future watching. In this episode, we talk about healthy relationships with kids, how our parenting styles have changed, and what kind of relatinship we want to have in the future. We discuss:1. Our children - what we feel is important to teach them, how to engage with them, and what kind of relationship we want to foster for the future.2. Parenting tactics - What we want to change, what we want to keep, and what we have been doing differently - or want to do differently - from our own parents. As always, check us out on all podcast platforms. In this episode, Mack talks about the difficulties men experience forming and maintaining platonic male on male relationships. Join us as he and his friends switch it up by turning this episode into a male edition of our usual series. Relationships Matter! We are starting a new series on relationships. In this series, we will explore different kinds of relationships and the critical roles they play in living meaningful lives. For the first installment, Mack is joined by his friends to discuss the nature of male relationships, particularly as men age. They question and explore why it is so hard for men to make and maintain strong bonds by first discussing their take on an article on the subject. One of his guests, Zach, talks about the important role of vulnerability in relationships and how the lack of such makes building lasting friendships difficult. They also discuss the differences between male and female relationships, with Shhonn stating male relationships form out of common interest, as opposed to female relationships, which can form under any circumstance. Jed talks about his relationship with his teammates when he played football and states that while they shared a common interest, he never fully identified with them because they didn't share common values. Mack talked about the time he and Bola went to marriage boot camp. While there he learned that while men are motivated by the fear of shame, women are motivated by the fear of isolation, suggesting that the reason that women are able to make relationships easier is because they are afraid to be alone, while the fear of shame may not allow men to actively seek out relationships. Hope you enjoy!! Feel free to comment on which relationships you would like to hear about next.

Join us as we take a moment to breathe and explore the process of creating, dreaming, bringing forth, turning dreams into reality, pushing through fear, and overcoming loss and tragedy with our amazing guest...the creator, lover, educator, curator, and owner of Adjourn Tea House, LaTonia Cokely. On this episode, LaTonia shares her entrepreneurship journey with us. She goes into amazing details about how she's transformed her life by making the decision to pick herself up after the loss of both her parents to cancer (10 years apart) to start living the life of her dreams. Having a renewed sense of urgency and purpose towards life, she decided to leave her job as an educator to explore her passion for tea. LaTonia leveraged Kickstarter to raise the initial startup capital and hasn't looked back since. While it hasn't always been easy, she's had amazing successes and experiences along the way in the mere 9 months since she started her business. From being featured in Essense Magazine to participating in Renae Bluitt's "In her shoes blog", LaTonia's practice (what she calls her business) is a testament to the notion of "if you build it, they will come". We love LaTonia's mantra, which is particularly appropriate during this time as the world is fighting the Corona pandemic: "When the world is moving too fast and things become heavy, pause. The rest can wait. Adjourn with me."So much amazing goodness was shared on this episode. Grab a tea and enjoy!
