A lot of businesses have their organization's core values posted up somewhere on a wall in the building, in a corner of their website, and even on employee's desks! And some organizations have worked hard to get their employees to memorize the core values and be able to tell someone those values at the drop of a hat. My question is, is that approach to company values doing any good for the business? In today's episode, I'm talking with Gabe Krajicek, CEO of Kasasa. I've experienced first-hand how company values can be useless, and as a previous customer of Kasasa, I've seen how values can directly impact customer interactions and the company's bottom line. Hear exactly how Gabe and his team have worked to build an incredible culture at Kasasa and how you can do the same thing in your organization, too! ---------- If you're looking for tangible action steps and refreshing insights to help ignite the power of your own leadership journey, sign up for my weekly leadership blog HERE. An F4 tornado ripped through my community last month. As someone who is called to develop leaders, I cannot ignore the leadership lesson emerging from my processing of the entire event. In today's episode, I'm sharing two specific potential “disasters” many organizations are being warned about right now. What is interesting is that although the warnings are being sent out, few are working on or preparing to mitigate the risk. My fear is that you may hear the warnings, but not heed the warnings…just as I did regarding the tornado in December. I don't want you to find yourself white-knuckling your past success as unstoppable destruction happens among your organization. I'm wishing you improved focus and better results as you move into 2022! #LevelUp ---------- If you're looking for tangible action steps and refreshing insights to help ignite the power of your own leadership journey, sign up for my weekly leadership blog HERE. Wondering what it's going to take to keep your best employees? It's a valid concern in a world where researchers are shouting that soon there will be a big shift of people out of their current positions and organizations. So, as a leader, what can you do about it? Can you stop it? I believe you can. It starts by you getting to know your people better. When you know YOUR EMPLOYEES -- not the employees surveyed by researchers -- then your employees will give you answers on how to lead them in a way that will make them stay and go all in. In today's episode I'm sharing with you a recent episode of a show I do on LinkedIn with Phil Van Hooser. Who needs more drama in their life? Anybody? Nobody! There is an upside to conflict, though. If you, or if people on your team, are dealing with conflict…it is possible to eliminate the conflict and come out with a stronger, better relationship – if you handle it correctly! As a leader, it is your responsibility to successfully navigate conflict and help your team to do the same. In today’s episode we are digging into a how one top-recognized leader, Chris, uses an old school theory to help him and his team successfully navigate conflict. Chris and I are both millennials. But, no matter how young, how cool, how old, how smart you are…there are some things we will always be able to learn from the people who went before us. We are discussing the Transactional Analysis theory developed in the mid 1900’s. This theory helps leaders understand why their people might think, act, and feel the way they do. We’re going to walk you through how you can use this information to help in the trenches at work. Would you say empowering your employees is important? I feel pretty confident your answer is “yes”. However, the leaders I know, the leaders I work with, the leaders I teach, many of them say yes, too — but they are not taking action consistently to empower their people. The result? Leaders, teams, and companies are missing out on achieving unprecedented success! Empowering employees affects both a company's culture and the bottom-line. In today’s episode we are digging into what is holding leaders back from effectively empowering their employees. I also walk you briefly through the “Levels of Empowerment” we teach in one of the Leadership Development sessions we teach to company leadership teams. We wrap up talking about how empowerment is a win-win-win strategy. Choose today to put your stake in the ground, make a plan, and then take action to be the leader known for empowering employees the best! It’s time to #LevelUp! There are many companies that have employees who’ve never stepped foot in their office. Maybe you’re thinking, “But that has to be very few companies and employes, right?” The answer -- not so much. Remote employees are not a thing of the future, it is the reality of the 21st Century workforce. Leaders must prepare for the challenges and opportunities this massive change presents. In this episode, I am sitting down with my business partner, Phil Van Hooser. Phil is a Hall of Fame Leadership speaker and author. Phil and I are speaking on the issue not only because we are helping other leaders successfully navigate the change, but we ourselves in our own business, are practicing what we preach. With Gen X, Y, and Z increasingly wanting flexible schedules, the number of remote workers in today’s workforce has increased very fast. In today’s episode, part 1 of 2, we are taking a look at why employees want to work out of the office, how that may make managers and supervisors feel, and practical steps you can take to make sure engagement, communication, and performance stays on the right track. As a leader, YOU control your leadership success. Tune in for real-talk about how to lead well in this new environment of remote workers.
