Interview with Diane R. Garrett, President & CEO of Hycroft MiningOur previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/hycroft-mining-nasdaqhymc-nevada-giant-eliminates-debt-targets-2026-production-milestone-8914Recording date: 18th February 2026Hycroft Mining (Nasdaq: HYMC) has published an updated Mineral Resource Estimate confirming 55% growth in Measured and Indicated gold and silver resources at its Hycroft Mine in Winnemucca, Nevada. The deposit now stands at 16.4 million gold ounces and 562.6 million silver ounces in the M+I category, with inferred resources of a further 5.0 million gold ounces and 132.8 million silver ounces. The MRE was prepared by independent third parties and is based on commodity prices of US$3,100/oz gold and US$36/oz silver. The update incorporates results from 70 drill holes and reflects a geological reinterpretation that has fundamentally changed how management and institutional investors view the asset. In late 2023, Hycroft announced the discovery of two new high-grade silver systems, Brimstone and Vortex, within the existing resource footprint. After just 14 months of drilling, those systems have already yielded an initial high-grade M+I silver resource of 90.2 million ounces. Critically, both systems remain open along strike and at depth, and no results from the current 2025-2026 drill programme are yet incorporated into the MRE.Metallurgical test work using Pressure Oxidation has confirmed recoveries of 83% for gold and 78% for silver - robust figures for a refractory sulfide deposit and a key de-risking milestone ahead of a feasibility study. The company is also evaluating a roasting alternative that could convert a processing cost into a by-product revenue stream through sulfuric acid production.Financially, Hycroft is well-positioned to execute. The company holds approximately US$200 million in cash with zero debt, following the retirement of legacy liabilities in October 2024. The institutional shareholder base, led by Eric Sprott at 43%, with BlackRock, Schroders, and Franklin Templeton also on the register, reflects sustained conviction in the long-term thesis. Project economics on the large-scale operation are expected by end of Q1 2026, with an underground mining assessment of the high-grade systems also underway.—View Hycroft Mining's company profile: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/companies/hycroft-mining-holding-corporationSign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com

My mother's death was one of the most painful seasons of my life… and somehow, it became one of the most transformative moments in my business.I know that sounds wild. But hear me out.In this episode, I'm sharing the uncomfortable truth about success, grief, identity, and the quiet ways production can become an idol. This is not a business strategy video. It's a heart check. If you've ever: • Built something impressive but still felt empty • Measured your worth by your production • Been wildly successful while privately struggling • Or walked through grief and wondered what God was doingThis conversation is for you. There are lessons here that reshaped how I lead, how I build, and why Real Estate Bestie even exists. This is vulnerable. This is faith-forward. And this may hit close to home.Watch until the end.And if it blesses you, share it with someone who needs this reminder.Register for the FREE Love Your Leads Challenge! Send a textA question as old as pain cracks open the conversation: did God create evil? From there we move through real lives and hard doctrine—men finding hope in prison classrooms, disasters that still fall under providence, and acts that look virtuous until you step back and see the skull and crossbones on the mast. We draw a clean line between natural evil as judgment and moral evil as human rebellion, then show how God remains just while upholding the world in which sinners act. If you've wondered how sovereignty and responsibility can both be true, you'll hear a framework sturdy enough for the news cycle and close to home.We also press into the claim “good without God.” Measured against neighbors, kindness shines. Measured against God, goodness must arise from faith, align with his law, and aim at his glory. That reorients philanthropy, status, and even our private motives. The pirate ship image brings it home: teamwork and fairness still serve rebellion when the flag is wrong. It's bracing, but it leads to hope—God can restrain evil, redirect harm, and work all things for good for those who love him, without ever approving the sin itself.A candid segment on apostasy looks at Judas as Scripture's clearest profile of a false disciple. We talk about keeping boundaries with former partners who now deny the faith, while refusing bitterness and praying for true repentance. Then we shift to evangelizing Jewish friends with care: addressing the weight of history, clarifying what Jesus and the apostles taught, and using the Hebrew Scriptures themselves. One simple tactic—reading Isaiah 53 without naming the source—often opens eyes more than argument alone. If you value clear theology with street-level application, this conversation will serve you. Aftermath Silver CEO Ralph Rushton joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the commencement of a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for the company's Berenguela silver-copper-manganese project in southern Peru, marking a significant milestone as the company advances the asset toward a potential production decision. Rushton told Proactive that the move to initiate a PFS follows the successful completion of a C$20 million equity financing and an extensive 82-hole infill drilling program carried out in 2025. The drill campaign intersected mineralization in 95% of the holes, substantially increasing geological confidence across the project. The resulting updated Mineral Resource Estimate materially strengthened the company's understanding of the deposit, confirming robust silver and copper mineralization across key zones and supporting the decision to progress Berenguela to the next stage of development. The PFS will build on this improved geological model and is expected to outline updated project economics, mine planning parameters, and development scenarios. Berenguela currently hosts Measured and Indicated Resources of approximately 122.5 million ounces of silver and 717.1 million pounds of copper, positioning it as a significant polymetallic development asset in the region. While advancing the PFS, Aftermath Silver plans to maintain exploration momentum across its portfolio. The company will continue drilling key exploration targets at Berenguela, as well as at its Challacollo silver project in Chile, as it seeks to expand resources and unlock additional value. Rushton emphasized that the initiation of the PFS represents a pivotal step in transforming Berenguela from an advanced exploration asset into a potential future mining operation, while ongoing exploration efforts aim to further enhance the company's growth pipeline. #proactiveinvestors #aftermathsilverltd #tsxv #aag #otcqx #aagff #mining #BerenguelaProject #SilverProject #CopperProject #Manganese #PreFeasibilityStudy #PFS #MiningDevelopment #PeruMining #Polymetallic #ResourceEstimate #SilverMining #CopperMining #MiningExploration #MineralResources #Challacollo #ChileMining #MiningGrowth #ProductionPath #NaturalResources

Ezekiel is taken in a vision to a high mountain and shown a heavenly messenger carefully measuring every wall, gate, and courtyard.
In 2024, Oregon State University assistant professor of psychology Steven Sanders created a scale to measure toxic masculinity. Researchers say for masculine behavior to be deemed as “toxic,” it must be damaging to the person or people around them. But why should we study this? What impacts does it have in our society? Sanders joins us to answer these questions and more.
Do you ever feel like you're being measured — even when no one is saying anything out loud? Measured by how you look. By how your kids behave. By how put-together your life appears. By what other moms seem to be doing better than you. Maybe you don't call it “image.” Maybe you call it pressure. Or comparison. Or trying not to fail. Or just wanting to be seen as a good mom. In today's episode, we continue our series on the sneaky things that steal our joy by talking about another quiet idol in our culture: the idol of image. Not just caring what people think — but letting what people think shape how you live. We talk about how image takes over when: • You feel anxious about how others see your parenting • You hide your struggles instead of asking for help • You compare your life to what you see online • You perform instead of rest • You feel like you have to hold everything together This episode will help you: • Recognize where image is driving your choices • Understand why it leaves you exhausted and insecure • See how comparison is robbing you of peace • Learn how to live from identity instead of performance • Begin trading pressure for freedom and approval for peace If you've been feeling tense, unseen, or like you're never quite enough — this conversation will help you name what's really going on underneath it. You were never meant to manage an image. You were meant to live from who God says you are. And that's where freedom begins. love, Brittany Ready to become a peaceful wife and Mama? Clemson built a college football powerhouse by recruiting differently — fewer offers, later evaluations, and a firm belief in culture over convenience. But in the NIL era, is that approach still enough? In this episode, Lawton Swann takes a hard look at Clemson's current recruiting philosophy, sparked by five-star cornerback Josh Dobson trending toward LSU despite growing up a Clemson fan. Is this simply one recruitment that didn't go the Tigers' way — or a warning sign that college football has changed faster than Clemson's methods? We examine how Dabo Swinney built the program at the sport's peak, why that model once worked, and whether it can still land elite talent in a world driven by NIL, early offers, and aggressive SEC recruiting. Plus, what “making the playoff” really means in the expanded era — and why that bar isn't what it used to be.TEXT: 803-450-0086WEBSITE: ClemsonSportsTalk.com

In the process of putting our talk together, we solidified our "core fore" concepts that help us filter through everything going on in the military human performance space. This led us to our main argument, which is that we should aim for "data informed" but not "data driven" to avoid falling into some common traps.Several people who couldn't attend the symposium asked if there was a way to listen to the talk, so we thought we'd just publish it as a podcast episode. Key topics we cover include: Nazareth Syndrome, Goodhart's Law, Mcnamara's Fallacy, and Hammond's Corollary (yes it's named after Drew). From there we dive into the challenge of defining "lethality" and what data can and can't do to measure it.Special shout out to SGT Donovan Saulsberry whose incredible voice you'll hear when he introduces us. Apparently he's the unofficial (or maybe official?) voice of Fort Benning. Let us know whether we should hire him to record a new intro for our podcast...

Jesus' teaching today includes a veiled warning about how we judge others. How we measure others--and this assumes we have a certain standard by which we assess the others--will be used with us as well. I have begun a long time ago to be merciful to the others, no matter what, because I would like God to be merciful with me too. It is as simple as that. Being very strict with the others, even to the point of being unfair in doing it because although we lack data we proceed to rashly judge them, or that we measure them by our own egoistic standards, then we will likewise get the same measure, but this time it will be God's standard. That will be totally difficult to top!
In this solo episode, Darin dives into one of the most universal modern experiences: the feeling that time is accelerating. Drawing from neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, and lived experience, he breaks down why time doesn't actually speed up, but our experience of it radically changes. From the impact of digital distraction and divided attention to the way novelty, memory, aging, and even COVID reshaped our internal sense of time, this episode offers both clarity and agency. Darin shows how reclaiming attention, breaking monotony, and creating richer experiences can give us the feeling of having our time back. Jan Molby turns his focus to the wider context of Liverpool's season, asking what success genuinely looks like under Arne Slot. With external noise growing, Molby offers a grounded view of the club's likely internal expectations, arguing that Champions League qualification may be the real non-negotiable objective. The conversation covers squad depth, injury concerns, long-term planning, and why panic decisions in January are unlikely despite visible weaknesses. Molby also reflects on modern managerial pressure, honesty in communication, and how patience from the hierarchy contrasts with the urgency felt by supporters. Measured, realistic, and sharply analytical, this discussion cuts through speculation to examine how Liverpool may be balancing short-term results with a longer-term vision. Victor Cantore, President and CEO of Amex Exploration Inc. (TSXV: AMX) (OTCQX: AMXEF), joins me for an update on all the development work, metallurgical studies, and exploration results that will be feeding into the upcoming bulk sample, and 2-Phase economic studies around their 100% owned high-grade Perron Gold Project located in Quebec, Canada. Additionally, the Company has made 2 recent acquisitions in Ontario, in addition to staking claims, substantially increasing the size of their land position across this deformation zone of gold mineralization. We start off getting a sense of the high-grade nature from their updated Resource Estimate, hosting 2.3 million ounces of gold in all categories, with 1.615 million in Measured and Indicated, and 698,000 in Inferred. The largest portion of those resources come from the Champagne Zone, but with strong contributions from the Grey Cat, Gratien, Western Denise, and Team Zones. There have been metallurgical studies demonstrating above 95% recovery rates of the gold from these different zones, with upwards of 99% recovery rates at the Champagne Zone, using gravity separation on the front end and cyanidation on the back end, without the need for a flotation process in the middle. This keeps the processing very simple and straightforward. The workstreams are leading towards updated economics in Q1 of this year, envisioning an initial 4-5 year toll-milling scenario where high-grade ore is trucked to a nearby mill, generating the revenues to pay for the 2nd phase processing plant on their property. This will all be preceded by a coming bulk sample from the Champagne Zone that will produce enough gold during 2026 and early 2027 to generate ~$100Million at today's metals prices, and this will fund the move into toll milling from 2028 through 2032. The most recent Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) at US$2,500/oz gold Bas Case assumptions highlighted a Post-tax NPV5% of $1.085Billion, with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 70.1% and 1.4 year payback period. Victor outlined how these economics are far surpassed to the upside when factoring in the metals sensitivities of todays spot gold pricing backdrop. We also got into the exploration focus of the company that plans to drill 100,000 meters, from both around the known deposit at Perron, as well as their newly acquired Perron West, Abbotsford, Hepburn, and staked lands in Ontario, Canada. There will be plenty of drill assay news coming out to the marketplace consistently throughout 2026 as the Project resources continue to grow. We wrap up discussing the financial health of Amex Exploration, after having raised $37Million in the most recent financing, which saw their key strategic shareholder, Eldorado Gold Corp, increase their holdings to a 27% position. We note the expanding analyst coverage, coming first nations agreements, permitting updates, and other key milestones on tap for 2026. If you have any questions for Victor regarding Amex Exploration, then please email them into me at Shad@kereport.com, and we'll get those addressed or covered in future interviews. As a highly responsible person, I think about this topic several times a year. Lord, bless us with the ability to celebrate when it's time to celebrate!
In todays show, we're joined by Farhad Abasov, Chairman of Millennial Potash, a listed miner who are advancing the Banio Potash Project in Gabon, West Africa, a large, low-cost potash deposit strategically located on the Atlantic coast. Farhad is a veteran mining executive with over $3B in exits. We dig into the real impact of China's production drop, the rise of Africa's Atlantic potash corridor, and how Millennial just delivered a 275% jump in Measured and Indicated resources. Farhad breaks down what +100 metres of cumulative potash thickness means for solution mining, how far the system could extend beyond the 5% drilled area, and the toughest technical challenges posed by ERCOSPLAN. We also look at how the U.S. DFC-funded Feasibility Study evolves with this new data, what risks have now been de-risked, and what it means for future supply into Brazil, the U.S and Africa. KEY TAKEAWAYS Millennial Potash has reported a 275% increase in measured and indicated resources, raising the total from 1.7 billion tons to over 6 billion tons, indicating a substantial potential for the Banio Potash project. The project is strategically located on the Atlantic coast of Gabon, allowing for competitive shipping costs to key markets such as Africa, Brazil, and the Eastern seaboard of the U.S The Gabonese government is actively developing infrastructure, including a new port and power facilities, which will support the potash project and enhance operational efficiency. The thickness of the potash deposit, exceeding 100 meters in some areas, will allow for larger caverns, further reducing operational costs. BEST MOMENTS "We think that the drilling that took place last year and this year removes a lot of that technical risk. Now we know that the resource is large, capable of producing at a significant scale." “This was a major milestone for us... we did not expect that it would go up this much. We basically took the resource from 1.7 billion tons all the way to over 6 billion tons." "We think this is going to have a huge impact on supply, specifically for Africa, Brazil, and the Eastern seaboard of the U.S." "We have very good understanding of the southern part of the property... we think that mineralization actually is quite continuous." The end of the year has a way of slowing us down. We look back. We take stock. We start asking questions that don't usually make it into our busy days. In Psalm 90, Moses invites us to do exactly that. He reminds us that our days are limited, God is eternal, and wisdom begins when we learn to live with that perspective. This message explores what it means to number our days, take sin seriously, and anchor our lives in the goodness of God rather than the temporary things that so easily consume our time. If you've ever wondered whether your life is being spent on what truly matters, Psalm 90 offers clarity, hope, and a path toward a life that is both measured and meaningful. The offseason continues to take shape, and Episode 125 of Tablesetters brings together a week where the market didn't explode — but it definitely shifted. We open with Munetaka Murakami landing with the White Sox, a short-term signing that reflects how teams are weighing upside against risk and flexibility. It's a move that raises questions about fit, timeline, and what both sides are really betting on as Murakami makes the jump to MLB. From there, the trade market comes into focus. Brandon Lowe heads to Pittsburgh, a deal that signals intent without locking the Pirates into long-term risk. At the same time, Baltimore adds Shane Baz, continuing to behave like a team that believes its competitive window is very real — and very open. Those moves create ripple effects elsewhere. The Rays once again load up on future assets, the Blue Jays and Diamondbacks monitor the Alex Bregman market, and San Diego opts for continuity, keeping Michael King in the fold while adding Sung-Mun Song. We also touch on Kansas City's bullpen move, another reminder of how aggressively teams are trying to solve late-inning depth. We wrap with listener interaction, breaking down the latest USA First Base debate, where the results were decisive — and revealing in terms of how our audience value upside, age, and track record heading into the next international cycle. Steve and Devin connect the dots across signings, trades, and market behavior, keeping the focus on process over headlines as the offseason continues to evolve. ⚾️ Measured bets, shifting leverage, and trade dominoes starting to fall — winter baseball is officially underway.

Overview: We dive into the journey of Jomo, whose three decades in healthcare have been dedicated to improving access, with a special focus on LA County's transformative eConsult system. We explore how this tool slashes specialist wait times from months to days for underserved populations, discuss the concept of “return on value” as a fuller measure of healthcare innovation, and reflect on the tension between profit, impact, and equity. Our conversation highlights the ways technology can lift the baseline for vulnerable patients, outlines the collaborative benefits for specialists and PCPs, and considers how public health systems can better articulate their true value—beyond just financial ROI. We wrap with excitement about new data showing $91 million in annual value generated and a call to drive broader recognition of health tech's role in democratizing care. Three Takeaways: Addressing Access Inequities in Both Urban and Rural PopulationsThe conversation highlighted that healthcare access barriers aren't just a rural problem; even in resource-rich settings like downtown LA, low-income patients face immense hurdles. The solution doesn't just serve rural North Dakota, but also the urban poor—demonstrating the shared structural challenges across geographies. Shifting Specialist Engagement through TechnologyJomo underscored the win-win value proposition for specialists: eConsults remove the loser-incumbent dynamic often present in tech rollouts. Specialists are able to respond to more cases efficiently, get compensated for asynchronous consults, and expand their reach, sometimes across state lines due to loosening regulations. The Moral Tension between Profit and Mission in Healthcare InnovationBoth Raj Sundar and Jomo tackled the discomfort around profit-driven healthcare startups—recognizing both justified suspicion of profiteering at the expense of the vulnerable, and the reality that profit and altruism can co-exist if properly harnessed. They advocate for embracing mission-aligned entrepreneurship instead of rejecting all profit. The Court of the Dead, ch. 1 to 6 So, we're now the most current we've ever been with the Rick Riordan books. Crazy! This week, we have a very measured discussion about The Court of the Dead. You may have noticed a recent trend of us "yelling" or "getting steaming mad" about these fun little novels - but no longer. Now, we are fair. We are impartial. We do not "blow our tops" when our favorite character gets flattened into a fluff pancake. We do not "punch the wall" when Riordan and Oshiro make a clumsy foray into racism metaphor. We have learned to just sit back and observe. Not everything needs a reaction. Come back next week for The Court of the Dead, ch. 7 to 11 Check out our Patreon! Ewan Webster, President and CEO of Thesis Gold Inc. (TSXV: TAU) (WKN: A3EP87) (OTCQX: THSGF), joins us for a comprehensive overview of the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) announced on December 1st, at the combined Lawyers-Ranch Project, in the Toodoggone Mining District of British Columbia. This Lawyers-Ranch project hosts a resource of 4.7 million gold equivalent ounces, with a substantial silver contribution, but the PFS economics are based solely on the Proven & Probable Reserves of 3.2 Moz AuEq. PFS highlights are summarized below: Strong Economics at US$2,900 per ounce of gold (oz Au) and US$35 per ounce of silver (oz Ag): Pre-tax: 73.5%, internal rate of return ("IRR") and $3.73 billion net present value at a 5% discount rate ("NPV5%") After-tax: IRR of 54.4% and an NPV5% of $2.37 billion At US$4,100/oz Au and US$51/oz Ag: Pre-tax: 117.4% IRR and $6.86 billion NPV5% After-tax: 87.8% IRR and $4.36 billion NPV5% Strong Early Production: Strong gold-equivalent ("AuEq")* annual production rates for the first three years averaging 266,000 ounces**, and 187,000 ounces** over the Life of Mine. Increased Tonnes Processed, Increased Throughput Rates and Extended Mine Life: Despite the removal of Inferred Resources from the mine plan, total tonnes processed rose by 18% (relative to the 2024 Preliminary Economic Assessment). Process plant throughput increased by 9% to 13,700 tonnes per day (t/d) and the mine life increased to 15-years, based solely on Measured and Indicated Resources. Mineral Reserve: Maiden Mineral Reserve statement with 76.16 million tonnes of ore grading 0.97 g/t Au and 28 g/t Ag for a total AuEq grade of 1.33 g/t. Low All-in Sustaining Costs ("AISC"): Average AISC of US$1,185 per AuEq ounce. Silver: Silver production accounts for approximately 23% of revenue. Quick Payback: The Project offers an after-tax payback period of 1.1 years at US$2,900 Au and US$35 Ag. Capex: Initial capital expenditure is estimated at $736.2 million, with a compelling after-tax NPV5%:initial capital ratio of 3.2:1. The initial capital estimate does not consider a potential revenue of $91.1 million in pre-production revenue from processing stockpiles as part of the initial commissioning and ramp-up plan. Project Upside: Significant project upside exists both in the potential to further optimize engineering design through a Feasibility Study, and in the project-wide exploration potential that remains untapped. The PFS did not include recovery of the crown pillar between the open pit and underground workings. With further study there is an opportunity to increase the mineable ore from underground without impacting the open pits. Inferred mineral resources from both Ranch and Lawyers are not captured within the PFS mine plan. Upgrading the classification of these Inferred ounces through additional drilling presents an opportunity to potentially expand the mineable materials. Numerous early-stage and undrilled targets exist across the entirety of the Lawyers-Ranch tenure, and Thesis is focused on a comprehensive, systems-based approach to unlocking additional exploration potential in an emerging porphyry district. “How stupid are Democrats?” Every time we think we've hit the bottom, they break out a jackhammer and start digging like they're hoping to discover a new layer of dumb beneath the mantle. Democrats don't just make mistakes—they build entire ecosystems of stupidity. They terraform reality until rational people look around thinking, “Did I miss a memo? Did the CDC issue a stupidity outbreak warning and I forgot to mask up?”I mean, we've reached the point where an overweight farm-animal-shaped dude—complete with a fully intact factory-issued reproductive package—wins the “World's Strongest Woman” contest. That's not progress; that's performance art for people who failed high-school biology but excelled in cosplay. And the best part? The contest officials were SHOCKED. “What? He's not a woman?” Like someone told them gravity was political.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
"Curiosity isn't a soft skill. It's a performance capability—and organizations are paying the price for ignoring it." Summary What if the most powerful leadership capability isn't having the right answers—but asking better questions? In this On the Brink with Andi Simon episode, Dr. Deborah Clary, author of The Curiosity Curve, explains why curiosity is a measurable driver of performance, engagement, and innovation—and how leaders can deliberately rebuild it to create stronger, more human-centered cultures. Why Curiosity May Be the Missing Link in Leadership and Culture Change In this episode of On the Brink with Andi Simon, I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Deborah Clary, author of The Curiosity Curve and a purpose-driven leader whose work sits at the intersection of leadership development, organizational culture, and performance. What emerged from our conversation was both refreshing and deeply needed: a reminder that curiosity—something many leaders unintentionally abandon as they rise—may be the very capability organizations need most right now . Deborah's journey is anything but linear. Straight out of business school, she began her career not in a corporate office but as a route driver for Frito-Lay in Detroit—wearing a uniform, managing a route, and learning leadership from the inside out. That truck, she says, became her classroom. Over the next four decades, Deborah moved through senior roles at Coca-Cola, Jack Daniel's, and Humana, eventually earning a PhD focused on leadership development and organizational design. Yet it was her growing fascination with human behavior—what makes leaders effective and cultures thrive—that ultimately shaped her work today . What Is Curiosity—Really? Deborah defines curiosity simply but powerfully: being genuinely interested in yourself, in others, and in the situation at hand. It's not about having the right answers. It's about asking better questions—and staying open long enough to explore them. That distinction matters, especially in organizations where leaders often believe their role is to know, decide, and direct. As Deborah shared, many leaders become "incurious" not because they lack interest, but because time pressures, performance demands, and past success reinforce the idea that they must always have the answer. Over time, curiosity is treated like a luxury—when in fact, research shows it is a driver of performance . The Engagement Crisis—and Why Leaders Matter More Than Ever One of the most striking parts of our conversation focused on employee disengagement. Gallup data shows engagement levels at historic lows, with millennials—now a critical segment of the leadership pipeline—showing especially high levels of disengagement. When Deborah and her research team conducted focus groups, they found a consistent theme: "My leader doesn't know me—and doesn't seem to care to know me." This wasn't about surface-level recognition or personal details. Employees wanted leaders to be curious about their ideas, their aspirations, and how they could contribute meaningfully. In other words, they wanted leaders who asked thoughtful questions instead of simply providing directives. Curiosity, Measured—and Made Actionable What makes Deborah's work especially compelling is that curiosity isn't treated as a vague personality trait. Through a validated assessment, she measures curiosity across four dimensions: Exploration Openness to new ideas Inspirational creativity Focused engagement In one executive team she worked with, the results revealed a powerful—and uncomfortable—truth. While most executives scored high in curiosity, the CEO did not. The organization was struggling with innovation, market share, and retention. When the data was shared openly, the CEO recognized that his resistance—not the team—was the bottleneck. His willingness to acknowledge this became a breakthrough moment for the organization . That story underscores a central theme of the episode: leaders shape culture not by intention alone, but by how open—or closed—they are to curiosity. Watch our podcast on YouTube. From Short-Term Answers to Long-Term Leadership Curious leadership, Deborah explained, is about playing the long game. The short game is giving answers. The long game is exploring possibilities, testing ideas, and learning from outcomes—even when they fail. This requires psychological safety. Leaders must normalize statements like, "I don't know—let's explore this together."When leaders model curiosity, they give others permission to think, experiment, and grow. Over time, this builds confidence, ownership, and engagement across the organization . Why This Matters Now? In fast-changing markets, yesterday's solutions rarely solve tomorrow's problems. Yet many organizations still rely on outdated assumptions, rigid hierarchies, and fear of failure. As an anthropologist, I see this pattern often: cultures resist change even when change is essential. Curiosity interrupts that pattern. It helps leaders see what they've been missing, hear voices that have been quiet, and test new ways forward. In Deborah's words, curiosity is contagious—and learnable. It can be rebuilt, one question at a time. If you're a leader navigating uncertainty, disengaged teams, or stalled innovation, this conversation offers both insight and hope. You don't need all the answers. But you do need the courage to ask better questions. And that may be exactly what helps you—and your organization—get off the brink. Banned in most prisons! That feels like a point in the book's favor, but I'm not entirely sure I can articulate why. The Daily Laws: 366 Meditations on Power, Seduction, Mastery, Strategy, and Human Nature By: Robert Greene Published: 2021 464 Pages Briefly, what is this book about? A "page a day" book collecting bits of wisdom from Robert Greene's other books (Laws of Power, Art of Seduction, Strategies of War, etc.) What's the author's angle? As a general matter Greene is something of a Machiavellian figure, he's going to tell it like it is, and give you the tools you really need to succeed in life. Or at least that's his claim. I generally find his approach to be refreshing, but there are also moments when I would say he takes things too far and dispenses advice that's counterproductive. Who should read this book? If you're one of the small number of people who likes to have a page of the day book as a way of marking the time from January 1 to December 31, this is an average entry in this very niche genre. But as the genre is not particularly large, any example might be welcome. If you've never done a page a day book I would probably start with Tolstoy's A Calendar of Wisdom. I thought it was quite good. Also, there's an argument to be made for it being the first such book chronologically. (It's the earliest example of a devotional book that wasn't rigidly sectarian.) Finally, it was banned by the Soviets, which immediately gives it ten extra points in my book. Specific thoughts: Some good advice, some okay advice and a few pieces of actively bad advice
2 In, 2 Out? — Arsenal Beat Brentford and Prepare for Aston VillaArsenal took a needed three points against Brentford, but the story of the night was the balance between what went in and what went out. Merino's header and Saka's late strike gave Arsenal the goals, yet Rice and Mosquera joining the injury list kept the tension high in a game that should have been far more routine. We break down the full picture: why the match felt messy in real time but looked controlled on the rewatch, how Timber and Calafiori quietly re-established structure, and why the left-side role debate is becoming one of the defining conversations of this Arsenal season. From Martinelli's fit, to Trossard's ownership of the role, to Eze's natural connection inside — it's all here.Part Two brings the Who Am I, a whip around the grounds (including Fulham vs City chaos and Leeds humbling Chelsea), and a VARse featuring two officiating moments. Then it's on to Saturday at Villa Park — a huge December fixture, a tough stylistic matchup, and another test of Arsenal's depth during a brutal run.Measured, detailed, and Arsenal-first — exactly how we do it.Chapters:00:00) – Arteta's Non-Negotiables Intro(01:10) – PSA: Arsenal Cannot Lose the Title!(02:21) – Starting XI & Immediate Reactions(03:41) – The Left-Side Debate: Martinelli, Trossard, Eze & Roles(07:12) – Early Control: Ben White, Madueke and the Opening Goal(09:12) – Momentum Shifts & Raya's Big Save(11:03) – Ref Decision, Missed Chances & Madueke's Final Ball(14:33) – Rice, Running Power & the Repeated Sprint Problem(19:48) – Timber at Centre-Back & Backline Adaptations(20:21) – Second Half: Corners, Pressure & Arteta's Response(25:07) – Rice's Injury Scare & Midfield Management(28:59) – Calafiori Brilliance & Saka's Big Miss(32:58) – Saka's Redemption: 2–0 Arsenal / Merino Master of Space(38:24) – By The Numbers: Game State vs Game Feeling(40:10) – PT.2 Who Am I (Game)(41:28) – Whip Around the Grounds (GW14 Results)(47:34) – VARse: Two Officiating Talking Points(55:09) – League Picture: Leaky Defences & Wolves' Historic Pace(59:24) – Villa Preview: Injuries, Lineups & Tactical Threads(01:09:26) – Prediction Game: Sp*rs vs Brentford(01:10:50) – Who Am I (Game) Reveal
Our lives are made up of decades, years, minutes, and seconds, and there are 86,400 seconds in each day. Time is an immeasurably valuable commodity, a finite resource we can spend, invest, or waste just like money. We are all given a limited amount of time on earth to live, and then we die. In God's grace and mercy, He knows when that time is for each person. As the awareness of sin marches on, the seconds of our lives tick away. Every one of those seconds is a step on the road to eternity.Show notes:Quotes in this episode were from King David, Leonard Ravenhill, and Dave Hunt.Recommended reading: Why Revival Tarries by Leonard Ravenhill Whatever Happened to Heaven by Dave Hunt Link to The Berean Call, the ministry founded by Dave Hunt for more solid Bible teaching and resources.Text us for prayer, comments, or ministry questions.Connect with us at: concerningthetimes.com
Our second episode in the Seven Summits Series centers on Denali. An Athabaskan word meaning "the high one," Denali is the tallest peak in North America, sitting at 20,310'. Measured from its base to its summit, Denali has a larger vertical rise than Everest, making it the tallest land-based mountain on Earth by that measurement.Sam and Adrian dive into some of the unique characteristics of Denali. Despite being only climbed once between the two of them (Adrian in the early 2000s), countless colleagues have shared insight after insight on Denali. - Adrian shares a bit about his early 2000s trip to Denali, with original intentions to climb the West Rib.- Most climbers ascend the West Buttress route, but the mountain holds countless other amazing routes, many of which are more technical, as well as world-class ski and snowboard descents. - With restrictive guiding limitations set by the National Park, Denali climbs have followed a traditional style, but much opportunity exists for different styles, like fast and light missions using pre-acclimatization. Join Dr. Kay and renowned female longevity expert Kayla Barnes for a comprehensive discussion on optimal health, moving far beyond "normal" lab ranges to an optimal state. Kayla breaks down essential longevity strategies, from tailoring sleep and exercise protocols to the female cycle and structuring supplements into three categories (baseline, protocol-based, and longevity molecules), to pursuing advanced testing like NMR panels. The episode explores cutting-edge therapies like Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT) for enhanced healing and blood flow, and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) for reducing the total toxic burden. Finally, Dr. Kay and Kayla align on an approach to aesthetic longevity that advocates for a moderated use of pure core neurotoxins like Xeomin in combination with powerful collagen biostimulation and DNA-repairing molecules, such as polynucleotides, for true inside-out rejuvenation.

We're joined by Jack Schwager—author of the legendary Market Wizards series and co-founder of FundSeeder—along with his partner and fellow co-founder & CEO, Emanuel Balarie. Jack shares what it really takes to be considered for a Market Wizards book: not one formula, but a mix of standout performance, disciplined risk, and an almost obsessive commitment to process and adaptation. Along the way, we dig into why survival so often hinges on position sizing and pre-planned exits, whether strategies like trend following can still hold up today, and the paradox of how fundamental convictions can actually work against risk management. Emanuel then explains how FundSeeder discovers talented but undiscovered traders worldwide, using analytics to measure performance and the FundSeeder Rise accelerator (now part of RQSI) to help top performers make the leap from trading their own accounts to managing outside capital. Think of it as a “farm system” for the next generation of fund managers. Few will ultimately make the cut, but every great manager starts somewhere—and if you've been honing your craft and building a real track record, this episode might spark the thought: why not you?
