Tia interviews artist from the record label baseline. In this interview you will meet Amé, Tray Nova, Tamba and The Black Wonder Twins. You will learn about their journey in the music industry. Amé Growing up in a small town in Central Pennsylvania, Amé always knew she was meant for something bigger. Adopted by pastors, Amé was one of the only two black girls in her town. She frequently experienced the microaggressions associated with being part of the minority in a predominantly white town. These experiences fueled her artistic vision and shaped her desire to be heard, understood, and represented. As soon as she was able to, Amé moved to NYC and continued her journey towards artistic enlightenment. Amé music takes the experiences of her life in small town USA and fuses it with classy, sexy, R&B stylisms. She doesn't shy away from the opportunity to discuss sexuality, desirability, and the intrinsic need to be understood by one's peers and self. Encouraged by her love of family, and the inner strength to keep going, Amé sought out and found her birth family. Through this reconnection, she learned about herself in ways she couldn't have imagined and how music is a part of her identity. Tray Nova Chicago-born, NYC living, Artist, Tray Nova -also known by the name KiDD CHI- is a creative who allows his music to speak for itself. Inspired by some of the greatest Hip-Hop and R&B artists of all time; J.Cole, Nas, Lauryn Hill, and Andre 3000; Nova frequently harkens back to musical standards of the 90s and early 2000s. Considering and appreciating this, Nova makes music that is fresh, timeless, and pleasing to the ear. Nova has shared the stage with some of the most prolific Hip-Hop artists, such as Chance the Rapper, Mac Miller, Kid Ink, and more. His presence in major cities such as Chicago, NYC, Los Angeles, and Honolulu, has continued to enhance his brand and help him make his mark in their music culture. Tamba At only seven years old, Paul Tamba Kpakiwa (professionally known as Tamba), along with his parents and 6 siblings, escaped the Sierra Leonean Civil War, a decades-long civil war, and fled to the United States. In search of a new life, his family moved to an inner-city neighborhood in Harrisburg, PA, where his dreams began. At 15 years old, Tamba began to write music while living in his poverty-stricken neighborhood. Attending a private Catholic school and growing up with the perspective of a refugee helped Tamba grow into a man who can understand the privileged and walk with those who struggle. The capability to rise above his struggles and never stop chasing his dreams gave Knoxx the inner strength to keep going. As a Hip-Hop artist whose musical identity is defined by his experimentation, this is the message wants to pass along to his listeners. Black Wonder Twins Black Wonder Twins are a Hip-Hop duo consisting of twin brothers, Dylan & Jacob who hail from Rockland County, New York. The Black Wonder Twins bring hype and always represent the culture.
