Migrant workers allegedly caught up in an immigration fraud and living in over crowded conditions could soon be without any roof over their heads and zero income. Earlier this week Immigration NZ inspected several houses across Auckland amid a review of the accredited employers scheme. Minister Andrew Little ordered the review after getting an anonymous email claiming employers in the scheme weren't being properly vetted. It's alleged dozens of mainly Bangladeshi men living at two houses in Lynfield and Glen Eden paid around $20,000 to get visas and work under the scheme. But when they got here the jobs vanished. Their employer has also stopped supplying food, and men in one of the houses have to vacate in about two weeks. But they're caught in financial limbo, unable to work for anyone else until they're issued with new visas. Masud Alam, an advocate with immgration law firm Amerinz has been helping the men and speaks to Lisa Owen [embed] https://players.brightcove.net/6093072280001/default_default/index.html?videoId=6336171899112

Woo-hoo! This past weekend we participated in the LIVE Pride48.com podcasting marathon. We had a blast listening to the other shows, chatting in the chat room, and doing our first LIVE show ever! That said, there is just no editing live. With the exception of our normal front and end bumpers, this is how it sounded with absolutely NO editing whatsoever! And now you'll understand why RJ needs to edit this train wreck of a show. hahaWe broke our 1.5 hours live time slot into our normal 2 shows. In this episode we talk about starting a new podcast with Gavin of the Dragen Podcast, RJ being live on the Pink Carpet with the Little Fatty Cast, our coming-out stories, iPhone 4 software update, Pride in Chicago, RJ getting kicked out of a club for being too old, country-style communication, people using wrong products on their ass, relationships with someone who has an opposite sex drive, fetishes and no-no lists, Muppets, not looking our ages/getting carded, and more. We'd like to thank Daniel Brewer and Adam from The Adam and Matty Show for creating Pride48.com, starting the Pride 48 marathon last year, and also Arthur from the AmeriNZ podcast for inviting us to join and for hosting this year's event! You all did a wonderful job and we truly appreciate all your hard work! Also, a special thank you to Auntie Vera Charles for being "the voice" of Pride48.com.We'd like to also thank all of you who listened live and and to those who participated in the chat room, without whom we wouldn't have gotten through our shows as well. It's been a while since we've gotten any email or voicemail and we'd love to hear from you! I talk briefly about that subject before moving onto the breaking news I alluded to last time (and Jake makes an appearance in the background). From there, it’s on to anniversarium comments and more comments. I actually received some as I was working on this episode, so I finish it after a few wines—good move or not? You be the judge. In any event, the number of messages I received kinda changed the way I did this episode, but I don’t mind at all. Thank you for two years of wonderful times. I deeply appreciate it! This is the final episode I’ll post to this feed. It’s time to change to the new feed! Go to http://amerinzpodcast.com/ to subscribe. Things I forgot! Use Your Noodle. Kim Beaver’s Lodge.
