Send us a textIn this festive fall edition, hosts Kirk and Andy get together for their annual pumpkin-themed design review. With their signature wit and charm, the duo explores the bold, bizarre, and beautiful world of pumpkin-inspired product packaging and branding. From Andy's critique of a pumpkin-spiced spiked latte with questionable flavors but stellar design, to Kirk's enthusiasm for non-alcoholic craft beers with spooky seasonal vibes, this episode is packed with insightful design breakdowns. Listen as they:Celebrate standout packaging from brands like Go Brewing, Rogue, and Dunkin's innovative spiked latte line.Discuss the creative risks (or lack thereof) in the seasonal branding world.Highlight clever typography, textures, and storytelling elements in limited-time packaging. The conversation doesn't stop at beverages! Kirk and Andy also reflect on what makes seasonal designs resonate emotionally with consumers, the importance of nostalgia in marketing, and the missed opportunities of brands playing it too safe.Crack open your favorite fall drink (pumpkin or not) and join the fun!

Autumnal gloom has set in and the only way is down after Zara Hedderman's all-timer of a Top 5 on the previous episode, right? WRONG! Despite the astounding heights of that aforementioned T5, we're keeping the energy supercharged with the returning Max Zanga, present in-studio as a representative of mysterious rising solo talent Filmore!, who definitely is a different person than Max, honest. The new Filmore! EP is called Idle Death Gamble and it's really very good indeed, and so we talk about that and the overall project at large. Elsewhere, we've got a truly nonsensical Top 5, and a grab-bag of news to get through...And don't forget to hit up patreon.com/noencore, we've got a new Film Club episode dropping this Sunday, all about sweaty and problematic 1993 thriller Falling Down.ACT ONE: The preamble in which we ramble. ACT TWO: Filmore! in conversation. Kinda. ACT THREE (31:54): News! Robert Smith bashes Oasis, Taylor Swiftonomics keeps on churning out the goods, Donald Trump reveals his megamix, Atomic Kitten are still a thing, and some words for the late, great Ka. Damian Lewis grew up in North London and, after a spell in boarding school, returned to the city to study acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company before transitioning to television. Damian's breakout role came in Band of Brothers, which was the most expensive TV show of all-time, in 2001. His portrayal of Nicholas Brody in Homeland earned him both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe. His latest film, The Radleys, is adapted from a book by Matt Haig and tells the story of a family of vampires. Nick mixes an Old-Fashioned for Damian while Angela prepares caponata bruschetta to start, followed by hearty pumpkin risotto, inspired by a butternut squash recipe by Martha Collison. The experts at Waitrose pair this with a Gabriel Meffre Côte du Rhône. Damian Lewis is the perfect dinner-guest; he arrives hungry and armed with excellent anecdotes. Our trio cover how to cook octopus, what Tom Hanks is like on set and where Damian keeps his awards. You can now watch full episodes of Dish on Youtube All recipes from this podcast can be found at waitrose.com/dishrecipes A transcript for this episode can be found at waitrose.com/dish We can't all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help. This week just wanna do an Autumn Self Care Check in, to see how you're all doing. If you feel called, please leave a like, review, and share with your frenz. This all helps get the podcast out there for those who may need to hear this too! And remember, there will be times when we feel like we've fallen back a few steps, or we feel like we're regressing in our healing, or our actions aren't aligned with our words 100% of the time. These things will come up. Situations arise to show us how we can meet ourselves with more compassion and give whatever version of ourselves that is hurting what it needs. No, you shouldn't give up. Yes, healing IS possible for you. No, you aren't broken. Yes, you are worth the effort. And another thing, it's perfectly okay to take a break from actively looking at and healing every little thing. Rest and integration are so important and, honestly, non-negotiable to our true healing journey. So be kind with yourself, don't compare yourself to someone else's journey and "success", and keep in mind that perfection isn't relatable. Be you. Honor all of your sides- the beautiful, the messy, the human, the sacred. Vicki Atkinson and Wynne Leon are with wellness educator, meditation teacher, yoga teacher, and massage therapist, Deirdre Wilcox. As Wynne's teacher and friend for nearly 30 years, Deirdre has shared so much grounded wisdom. Of her many gifts, one that we love that is highlighted in this conversation, is her ability to help frame what we are experiencing in biological terms. So she walks us through the shift from summer to fall in terms of the cues our bodies are receiving. And this leads to a huge a-ha about the persistent question at the end of summer, “Have we done enough?” Deirdre suggests some practices that reduce the overwhelm as we move from the freedom and spontaneity of summer to the structure of autumn. One of the things we like most about her approach is that she understands that the things that have a chance to stick are the small ones. So she suggests some small changes for us to incorporate as we move towards falls. Ways that we can incorporate rituals to thoughtfully move from one season to the next. And one of our absolute favorites, an invitation to take it all in and notice what we did with our summer before we move on. We're confident you'll love the scenic and beautiful places we explore as we share the power of storytelling. We know you'll love it!
