Today we look at a rocky session for equities as geopolitical headlines spooked the market, which is trying to figure out whether the latest US threats are just chest thumping ahead of the key talks between the US and China kicking off tomorrow or a sign that trade tensions will escalate further. Also, plenty of single company news on earnings from Tesla, IBM and others, more fun and games for quantum computing stocks, key incoming data from Japan and the US that could spike FX volatility and more. Today's pod hosted by Saxo Global Head of Macro Strategy John J. Hardy. Links discussed on the podcast and our Chart of the Day can be found on the John J. In this real-talk episode, Josh and Joelle unpack what it actually looks like to prioritize health and fitness while raising a family. From sleepless nights and shifting morning routines to the emotional weight of parenting decisions, they explore the messy middle where most parents live — and how to keep showing up anyway. You'll hear honest strategies for navigating postpartum recovery, choosing sleep over workouts (or not), dealing with stress, and deciding when — and if — you're truly ready for kids. They also dive into listener questions around sugar-free diets, cardio timing, and how to build a sustainable routine that flexes with your life. If you've ever felt like you're constantly adjusting, recalibrating, or starting over — this episode is for you. Because it's not about doing it all. It's about doing what matters — consistently, imperfectly, and in a way that actually fits your life. Send us a textA 35% drop in liver fat in under a week sounds impossible—until you see how a simple macro shift can redirect your metabolism. We dive into a Danish crossover study where calories stayed equal, protein held steady, and the only real change was carbohydrates versus fat. The result: rapid reductions in hepatic fat, lower triglycerides, improved insulin sensitivity, and clear signs of metabolic flexibility, all in four to five days. We unpack what that means for everyday eating, how to use CGM feedback to reduce glucose spikes, and why outcomes like organ fat and fat oxidation should trump a single lipid reading taken out of context. From there, we widen the lens. Fatty liver—now recognized as a hallmark of metabolic dysfunction—is staggeringly common, yet highly responsive to nutrition quality and distribution. We break down why modest carb moderation paired with quality fats and robust protein can stabilize energy, support endogenous GLP-1 signaling, and protect lean mass. We also confront a common confusion: “high fat” isn't a license for ultra-processed oils or low-fiber meals. When fats come from olive oil, avocado, nuts, eggs, and fish—and plants supply fiber and polyphenols—the microbiome, mitochondria, and glycemic control can all improve together. We close with practical implications for anyone using GLP-1 medications. Pharmacology can provide short-term traction, but it doesn't guarantee nourishment. A protein-forward, lower-glycemic template plus resistance training helps preserve muscle, sustain satiety, and potentially reduce medication reliance over time. If you're ready to swap shaky biomarkers for meaningful outcomes—and to see changes fast—this conversation offers a clear, evidence-backed roadmap. Join hosts Kaycee McIntosh and Julie Henningsen of the Crux True Survival Story Podcast as they discuss one of the most remarkable survival stories in maritime history. The episode delves into the harrowing tale of 11-year-old Terry Jo Duperrault, whose family vacation in 1961 turned into a nightmare when their chartered boat, the Blue Bell, was sabotaged by the captain, Julian Harvey. After a brutal attack that left her family dead, Terry Jo was left alone at sea for four days before being miraculously rescued. This episode covers the details of the night of the tragedy, Terry Jo's incredible survival, and the subsequent revelations about Harvey's criminal past. Perimenopause brings a lot of changes but there is good news! You see, when you understand what's actually happening in your body, you can take back control. In this week's episode of The Perimenopause Solution, I sit down with Jill Chmielewski, RN, BSN to unpack the critical metabolic and biological shifts that happen during perimenopause, and what you can do right now to support your body, energy, and long-term health. In the episode, we cover: The surprising connection between your hormones, muscle, and metabolism How to spot the early signs of imbalance before they spiral out of control When HRT makes sense vs. when it might not What you can start doing today to support your energy, mood, and longevity Midlife isn't a downhill slide but an invitation to approach your health in a whole new way. You have options, and this episode will help you understand them. Jill Chmielewski, RN, BSN Jill Chmielewski, RN, BSN, is a Registered Nurse, Health Coach, Menopause Educator, and Women's Health Advocate with over 30 years of experience in healthcare. She is a bold voice in the midlife health movement, calling out the outdated belief that it's all downhill after 40—and replacing it with something far more powerful: the truth that a woman's next chapter can be her strongest, healthiest, and most vibrant yet. Jill holds a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law and is a certified health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). She has completed advanced training through the School of Applied Functional Medicine and the Institute of Bioidentical Medicine, with deep expertise in menopause, hormones, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). As Education Lead at Respin Health, founded by Halle Berry, Jill combines science-based education with deep compassion and clinical insight, helping women understand their bodies, advocate for their health, and make informed, confident decisions. Her work is rooted in the belief that decline is not inevitable—it's simply what happens when we fail to adapt to our bodies' needs in midlife and as we age. Jill is the co-creator of two personalized Menopause Health & Hormone Optimization programs, the creator of The Beginner's Guide to Hormone Replacement Therapy, and a trusted clinician known for making complex topics clear, approachable, and actionable. Most recently, Jill was featured in the groundbreaking menopause docuseries "Four Days," created by filmmaker Charles Mattocks and a passionate team of experts and women willing to share their stories. The series was born from a quiet question: What if we finally changed the conversation, and turned into a movement? Because the silence around menopause has gone on too long. And because women deserve to be seen, heard, and supported in this next chapter of life. The docuseries is expected to air in late fall 2025. It makes sense that if you want to cut down on the amount of spam email you get, just unsubscribe from those emails. WAIT! That could make things worse. There is a better way to handle spam emails, and I begin this episode by explaining how. https://www.yahoo.com/news/warning-hitting-unsubscribe-unwanted-emails-115900557.html Predicting the future is a losing game most of the time. Still, a lot of influential people spend a lot of time and money trying to do it. People forecast where the stock market is going, they predict trends in fashion, technology and everything else. It makes you wonder if all that effort and money trying to predict the future actually helps to make it happen. So why is the future so unpredictable? What forces do shape the future? Joining me to discuss this is Glenn Adamson, former director of the Museum of Arts and Design, New York. He has held appointments as Senior Scholar at the Yale Center for British Art and he is the author of the book, A Century of Tomorrows: How Imagining the Future Shapes the Present (https://amzn.to/442HOfb). People have been floating the idea of a 4-day workweek for over 60 years. Yet it is still not the norm. Why hasn't it caught on? Is it a good idea? Will it ever be a real thing? Here with some interesting insight into the 4-day workweek is Juliet Schor. She is an economist, and professor of sociology at Boston College. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, People and 60 Minutes. She is also the author of a book called Four Days a Week: The Life-Changing Solution for Reducing Employee Stress, Improving Well-Being, and Working Smarter (https://amzn.to/4jQSvr0). There are a lot of weight loss programs and strategies available for people. But what if there was one simple, common sense, easy to do tactic that is proven to help people lose weight effectively? There is. It so simple. And I will tell you exactly how to do it. https://www.ornish.com/zine/proven-benefits-keeping-food-journal/ Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

With Prime Minister Albanese's government returned to office with a large majority, Darren is wondering what the data from the PM and Foreign Minister's first overseas trips tell us about the early trajectory of Australian foreign policy in this new term. Is it one of continuity or change? Stephen Dziedzic of the ABC, who accompanied the PM on his trip to Jakarta, the Vatican, and Singapore, joins to discuss that trip and FM Penny Wong's trip to three Pacific Island nations. Finally, the PM was critical of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) this week, and in light of that story Darren ventures a model of think thank influence, much to Stephen's delight! Australia in the World is written, hosted, and produced by Darren Lim, with research and editing this episode by Walter Colnaghi and theme music composed by Rory Stenning. Our first interview, “Four Days in October,” focused on the intense deliberations that took place behind closed doors regarding the possibility of Israel responding to its stronger adversary first, Hezbollah in Lebanon, rather than Hamas in the Gaza Strip. If you have not heard or seen that interview, you can find it here. For the second interview in our series with General Gallant, we focused on the most difficult aspect of this war - the hostages in Gaza and the efforts to bring them home.Yoav Gallant served as Israel's Defense Minister from 2022 until 2024. He was fired by Benjamin Netanyahu twice in those two years, first in 2023, when massive protests in Israel led Netanyahu to reverse his decision, then again in November of 2024. Gallant is a member of Netanyahu's Likud party. His military career spans five decades, beginning in 1977 as a naval commando in Shayetet 13, and serving as chief of the IDF's Southern Command during Operation Cast Lead, an early war with Hamas that lasted from late 2008 to early 2009. Today's cast: Dan, Stugotz, Chris, Billy, Lucy, and Mike. After four days of football over the holiday weekend, Dan asks Stugotz and the Shipping Container where to begin. The crew begins by diving into strange kicker stats inspired by Justin Tucker's continued struggles. Then, flag planting caused fights all across College Football this weekend. While Mike is frustrated by both flag planting and upside down hand signals, Dan finds the fights to be a "natural escalation" of college kid behavior in intense rivalries and Lucy finds it all kind of funny. Plus, Billy dismisses all of Europe, Sir Big Spur and the Cock Commander, the "worst 11-1 team of all-time," and how the Texans should feel after knocking out Trevor Lawrence in their win over the Jaguars. Also, after the Dolphins loss in the cold on Thanksgiving, who's to blame? Did Tua do enough to change narratives? Is it more about Chris Grier or Mike McDaniel? And will you join us to see if they can keep their season alive at our Sunday Service presented by Smirnoff? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
