Well folks, this is it. The series finale of Ballers. Things get emotional as Dave and Joel recap the final episode of the show and take a walk down memory lane to discuss how the various plot lines, character arcs, locations and cool suits have changed and evolved over the past five seasons. The episode begins with a discussion about the recent Elizabeth Warren interview in Entertainment Weekly where she's asked exclusively about her love of the show. Dave and Joel feel seen by the fact that the presidential candidate has many of the same takes and opinions as themselves. They also take a step back to look at the show as a whole by asking what the show wants us to think about money, power, capitalism and the character of Spencer/The Rock going forward. Is Ballers good? You'll have to tune in to the final episode of Ballin' Out to find out!
On this, the second to last episode ever in the history of Ballers, Dave and Joel gather to bid farewell to the story arc of Charles Greane and his meteoric rise up the ranks of NFL management. They begin with a look at the Spencer/Joe relationship and the hasty resolution of what has been a season-long feud between the two main characters. They also applaud the 10/10 performance by "Swole Elon Musk" aka the owner of the LA Rams in the Ballers multiverse. They conclude the episode with a look at all the other plot lines and make predictions for how the series will play out in the upcoming series finale episode. All that and the episode MVP this week on of Ballin' Out!
On this episode, Dave and Joel jump right in and discuss Spencer finally making his big push for the players to have lifetime healthcare, and how it doesn’t go quite as planned. After a big breakdown of the outdoor conference room where the meeting is held, our hosts debate how it is that Spencer continually gets bested in whatever role he’s asked to play. They also look at Charles and his declining health, and whether we’ll see him in yet another job by the end of the season. Also, a quick check-in with the Ballers romantic relationships, with Joe being broken up with by his work GF as well as Jason totally botching the proposal. All that and this week’s episode MVP on this episode of Ballin’ Out!
On this very special episode of Ballin' Out, Dave and Joel are joined by their friend, writer and comedian Jen D'Angelo. Jen is world-famous for her love and affection for Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson and might possibly be the preeminent "rock-ologist" currently operating in the United States. After discussing her ground-breaking meeting with The Rock, they then dive into the details of the episode. They begin at the end, with the shooting of Kisan, and discuss exactly what we're to believe the show wants us to think of him and the choices surrounding his downfall. They also discuss the introduction of the Riot Games offices, Charles' meeting with Alvin Kamara and Spencer's continued quarantine that prevents him from interacting with real live humans. All that and this week's episode MVP on this edition of Ballin' Out!
We're back, baby! After some scorching hot takes melted the audio recordings from last week, Dave and Joel return to recap their favorite episode of the season thus far. They begin with a sad but honest assessment of their fitness routines and then dive right into the fact that Spencer is now the full owner of an NFL franchise. Also discussed is Ricky's exciting new foray into sports media, the potential for a Vernon led and owned eSports team, and a look into the latest new venture for SportsX. All that and more on this week's episode of Ballin' Out!
On this week’s recap, Dave and Joel wonder how it is exactly that Spencer has the money to buy a multi-billion dollar NFL franchise (and whatever happened to that lawsuit with the NCAA?). They discuss Spencer’s summer beach reading list and finally get the answer they’ve been looking for when it comes to whether or not boogie boarding is actually a sport. Next they wonder what happened to Joe’s character and whether or not Joe and Spencer are broken up or if they’re on the road back to making up. The episode finishes up with a quick look at Instagram followers, The Rock’s insistence that his characters remind viewers of his off-screen persona and whether Vernon really has what it takes to make it as a eSports athlete. All that and season predictions on this week’s episode of Ballin’ Out!

On this episode of Ballin’ Out, Dave and Joel break down arguably their favorite episode of the season. They go deep on Spencer’s excoriation of the NCAA as one of the most “powerful and corrupt” institutions in sports and debate the highs (and lows) of the spencer vs. the NCAA plotline. They then pivot to Charles and Ricky debating how the Rams should get involved in the NFL social justice protests before turning their sights to the up and downs of Joe’s relationship with his favorite teen skaters. All that and this episodes MVPs on the latest episode of Ballin’ Out!
On this (very late) episode of Ballin’ Out, Dave kicks off the episode with a sincere mea culpa for delaying this week’s recording. After Joel accepts his apology on behalf of Ballin’ Out nation, the two hosts discuss the way the show portrays the NCAA and its relationship to student-athletes. They also discuss the Joe/Reggie plot and try to figure out exactly where we lost the thread with those two characters. Finally Dave takes a walk down memory lane with Rodney Peete before they both award their episode MVP’s.
On this very special episode of “Ballin’ Out”, Dave and Joel record their first live podcast! With both co-hosts in the same room, they recap their weekend of boogie-boarding, football watching and Ballers content consumption before diving into this week’s episode of Ballers. They start with a discussion of how the LA Rams organization fits into the larger ballers multi-verse, then tackle Spencer’s relationship with Q, the up and coming high school player slash dirty money magnet. Dave then reveals some earth-shattering news about the actor that plays Kisan Teague before both hosts demonstrate their misunderstanding of the the word MVP. All that and Rob Corddry hungover monologues on this episode of Ballin’ Out!
On this Labor Day edition of Ballin’ Out, Dave and Joel make it into the recording studio on a holiday to discuss the hard work Joe and Spencer are doing at SportsX now that they’re in charge. The two hosts ask the questions: “Who are the good guys here?” and also “What day is it?” as they review Spencer, Joe and Jason’s actions. They also look at Ricky (and TTD’s) comeback plotline and take a moment to recognize the budding relationship between Spencer and Jada.
On this episode of Ballin’ Out, Dave and Joel look at how the show has addressed the intersecting issues of mental health, depression, and CTE throughout the four seasons. They discuss the significance of Spencer’s dreams and wonder what a different (darker) version of that conversation might look like on the show. They then turn their attention to the character of Lance (Russell Brand) and examine how he’s been positioned as the villain in this season. Next, a quick look at the various romantic couples on the show is highlighted (or rather, lowlighted) by a discussion of Jason and his retrograde views on relationships. All that plus this episode’s MVPs on this week’s episode of Ballin’ Out
On this brand new episode of Ballin' Out, Dave takes another L on the personal fitness front before jumping into a brand new episode of Ballers. Dave and Joel discuss the introduction of the new surfer character, Parker, and break down the relationship between his racial justice plot and the wider world of Ballers partnerships. They also take a look at the latest "hot mom" in the Ballers multi-verse and dig deep into the memory banks to try to figure out just why exactly Charles and Ricky hate each other? All that and this week's episode MVP on the latest episode of Ballin' Out.
Ballin’ Out is back for a second season! In this season four preview episode, hosts Dave Collins (@davekcollins) and Joel Sinensky (@JoelSinensky) are joined by super-guest Chris Wade (@saywhatagain) to take a deep dive into the current “State of the Rock”. They begin with a discussion of what the Rock has been up to in the past year, from posting selfies in marketing meetings to Chris’ investigation of the under-reported turning point in his movie career. They also discuss his epic cheat meals and the way he uses Instagram to self promote in refreshingly transparent ways. Dave, Chris and Joel then dive into the three movies the Rock has released in the past year (Jumanji, Rampage and Skyscraper) while Dave puts in a strong case for Baywatch’s rewatchability. Next, the discussion turns to politics with a look at the Rock’s meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and his ascent to the global elite. Finally, the three guys discuss where we left off at the end of season three and make some serious (and not so serious) predictions for what they hope to see from the show as it makes its westward shift to Los Angeles.

All good things must come to an end and on the season finale of Ballin’ Out, Dave, Joel and special repeat guest, Chris Wade, join together to give their takes on this episode and the Ballers season as a whole. In what was already an unprecedented weekend in the real universe of the NFL, this episode of Ballers carried with it an extra level of weight as it dealt deftly (and sometimes with a heavy, heavy hand) with the issues of wealth, race and the role of public perception in the modern NFL. The guys discuss the resolution of the season's major plot to bring a team to Vegas and break down the Rock and co's shifting moral and monetary motivations. In the second half of the episode, the three hosts discuss the implications of President Trump’s recent comments on the ongoing protests by NFL players and coaches on the issue of police brutality and social justice.
On this week's episode, Dave and Joel are joined by a special guest! Chris Wade (@saywhatagain) joins to give his takes on the Rock's uncanny propensity to throw phones out of car windows and leave Bentleys parked in the left lane of highways. The three guys discuss how the show has not one but two different Dallas Cowboys franchises operating in the same NFL universe before diving into yet another uncomfortable intimate encounter between the Rock and his girlfriend. They get to the bottom of what happened with Ricky Jarrett last week and debate the technological advancements of virtual reality in the Ballers multiverse. All that and more on this week's episode of Ballin' Out!
Joe and Spencer lament the fact that they're not part of the NFL owners "boys club", but what are they actually looking to accomplish? On this episode of Ballin' Out, Dave and Joel revisit the question of whether moving an NFL team to Vegas is truly a noble idea. They look at Spencer's flexible reasoning behind his motivations and question whether anyone on the show will call him out for what it is - an ego play. Joel then brings up the idea of what the show would be like in an alternate universe where Jason the agent is played by a female actor and also whether they've both misread the character of Wayne Hastings. The episode closes out with an examination of why the hell Ricky ended up in that random kid's house. All that and more on this week's episode of Ballin' Out!
On this week’s episode Dave and Joel celebrate the gift of boats with hot tubs before breaking down the current state of the deal to bring the Raiders to Vegas. Joel proposes his “alternative timeline” theory of understanding the Ballers universe while Dave tries to figure out exactly why the Rock might be an “enemy of the league”. Dave and Joel go on to break down the rest of the big moves, doctor’s visits and baby mama drama on this week’s episode of Ballin’ Out. Have questions for Dave and Joel? You can email the show at sstrassmore@gmail.com or reach the guys on Twitter @davekcollins or @joelsinensky.
Spencer makes his way to Vegas to start wining and dining the local politicians needed to approve a stadium deal while Jason tries his hardest to ignore his Mom while waiting in a sketchy playground to win a new client. On the show, Dave discusses whether we should even be rooting for the Rock to convince Las Vegas to spend public money on a stadium while Joel talks us through the steps it takes to go from watching Monster Trucks in a luxury box to actually driving a Monster Truck in order to prove you know what locals love. All that and this week's "Scenes that could've been an email" on this week's episode of Ballin' Out!
