Working your way up isn't just about putting in more hours or waiting your turn. It's about being strategic, being visible, and knowing how to navigate the messy middle - like relationships, timing, and office politics. This week, we're giving you the exact playbook to stop waiting around for someone to tell you that you're ready for a promotion and how to actually make it happen instead. We dig into how to know if you're actually ready to move up (spoiler: time in seat doesn't equal readiness), the art of asking for advancement without sounding pushy or awkward, and how to build the kind of reputation that makes people want to champion your career. Plus, we tackle what to do when you tick all the boxes but still don't get the promotion - and why that might actually be the best thing that could happen to you. What you'll learn: The Readiness Reality Check: How to get honest feedback about where you stand and what a "10 out of 10" performance actually looks like The Promotion Conversation Reframe: Why you should never use the word "promotion" and what to say instead to get results The Trust Factor: Why promotions go to the most trusted person, not the loudest, and four quiet ways to build your reputation The Sponsor vs Mentor Distinction: Understanding the difference and why having a sponsor is crucial for career acceleration The Rejection Recovery Plan: Four strategic experiments to try when you don't get the promotion (that set you up for success either way) Our new BIZ hosts are Lisa Lie - a former Head of People & Culture and Organisational Coach - and Mamamia’s Em Vernem. Headlines and The Wrigley effect. The Mariners figured out the right approach based on the conditions at Wrigley Field, but it took a bit. Emerson Hancock couldn't conquer Wrigley on Saturday and the Cubs took advantage, but on Sunday it was Logan's turn to make some adjustments and the M's batter's took advantage of the windy conditions to come up with 14 runs and a series win. The M's scored 30 runs over the weekend, but the offense is in no way fixed. They were just able to use the conditions to their advantage and we fully expect a return to normalcy in Minnesota. :30- The Seahawks defense leaned on Leonard Williams last year, but could he be even better this year? Lofa sure think so and we talked about it with him during our Seahawks one series last Friday. :45- Kevin Durant was traded from the Suns to the Rockets over the weekend. Will he ever be happy? Welcome back to another episode of the Online Warriors Podcast! This week we have a very special episode! We got to sit down with Nick Cellini to discuss Which Way Up Galaxy Games AND we dropped some movie/ TV trailers. - Can you tell us a bit about your background? And how did you get into game development? (0:50) - What were some early games, genres, or creators that inspired you creatively? (4:35) - How did the concept for Which Way Up first come together? Was it a solo idea or something the team at Turtle Flip brainstormed collectively? (6:37) - What were some of the biggest challenges in designing physics-based gameplay across multiple gravity fields? (10:23) - How did you approach balancing fun and accessibility for both seasoned players and younger or casual gamers? (14:21) - All of the minigames are, in part, time trial based challenges. Is this to keep pacing through the throughout the gameplay - so no mini game over stays its welcome - or do you enjoy the rush of a ticking clock? (20:58) - Which Way Up includes 12 distinct minigames for multiplayer play. Can you talk about the development process of one specific mini-games - perhaps one that went through the most iteration? (22:50) - If you had unlimited time and budget, what wild feature or mode would you add to Which Way Up? (29:04) - What advice would you give to an aspiring developer with a wild idea and no clue where to start? (36:56) - Smoke Trailer (46:57) - Good Fortune Trailer (52:47) - Frankenstein Trailer (58:42) - Gen V Season 2 (1:06:32) Special shoutout to our Patreon Producers: Steven Keller and Loyd Weldy!
