March 15, 2023 -- Mid-Week Lent -- "Lament: Stubbornness" -- Pastor Eddie Cuen, Bible Text: Psalm 95: Come, let's sing joyfully to the Lord. Let's shout happily to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let's come into his presence with a song of thanksgiving. Let's shout happily to him with psalms. 3 The Lord is a great God and a great king above all gods. 4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth, and the mountain peaks are his. 5 The sea is his. He made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let's worship and bow down. Let's kneel in front of the Lord, our maker, 7 because he is our God and we are the people in his care, the flock that he leads. If only you would listen to him today! 8 “Do not be stubborn like ⌞my people were⌟ at Meribah, like the time at Massah in the desert. 9 Your ancestors challenged me and tested me there, although they had seen what I had done. 10 For 40 years I was disgusted with those people. So I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts continue to stray. They have not learned my ways.' 11 That is why I angrily took this solemn oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest!' ” http://www.bethanylutheran.org http://www.facebook.com/Bethany.Long.Beach www.youtube.com/c/BethanyLutheranLongBeach

The Bible gives us plenty of direction in what we should do with our pain. When we lament Biblically we open ourselves up to God's healing mercy. Bible Text: Psalm 77 | Preacher: Jeremy Hager

Bible Text: Psalm 73 | Speaker: Patrick Crandall | Series: 2020 Topical Sermons
Bible Text: Psalm 118:18 | Preacher: Pastor Dawn René McCann | This sermon is encouraging and life-giving to the Body of Christ in this unprecedented time! The Church needs to move forward despite the ongoing circumstances. Going backward is giving in to fear, and not giving in to God's instruction. Being led by the Spirit is how we move forward. What the Church of the living God does is paramount today. We must determine to walk in the blessing of the Lord by staying in unity and that can only be done when we keep ourselves looking at Him, trusting Him, loving Him. We must decide who and what we put our confidence and trust in. We must stay in obedience to God and His Spirit. That is how we defeat the enemy. If we are going to be the force to bring change on the earth, we have to be good, be convinced He is good, and convince others He is good.
Bible Text: Psalm 50:15 | Preacher: Pastor Dawn René McCann | “There is hope in the day of trouble.” In our 2020 Prophetic word, God told us this would be a year of being Spirit empowered as never before! I believe that what God has spoken over us is so important right now and we must keep that perspective. Spirit EMPOWERED is not only our promise, but it is essential for believers during this time. We know that as long as we are in this world, tribulation will come. But we have been given the power of Christ in us. We know the real power lies within the people of God who are SPIRIT empowered. We are the solution. As we call on the Lord and put our trust in Him, HE will arise and defeat this enemy and we will arise as the Church to do His bidding, as we help others. So many need to see the Body of Christ actually respond in kindness. No judgment. So check your heart, and move forward in confidence, in faith, and say NO to fear. Let us take advantage of this time to reinforce our confidence in God, and be the salt and light that He designed us to be.
Bible Text: Psalm 91:1 | Preacher: Pastor Jennifer McKesey | Series: Sunday Sermons | Jesus said when you pray, go into your closet and shut the door. He expects His disciples to often spend time alone with the Father, as He did. David knew this place. He called it the “Secret Place” – he knew that when you dwell there, you will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. This is so necessary in our daily life! This is how we live in intimacy with the Father. This is where His glory overshadows you, and where there is fullness of joy. This is where your spirit-man comes into union with His Spirit. This is how you stay protected, and the enemy cannot touch you. This is where He shows you what is to come, where He makes you aware of upcoming opportunities or even danger. You get to know His voice and His ways, He fills you and saturates you with His presence, so you have something to give, and He transforms you into what He wants you to be. You will become what you behold the most – so make it a priority to spend time with your Father!
Bible Text: Psalm 27:4 | Preacher: Pastor Dawn McCann | Series: Podcast, Sunday Sermons | God is so good! We have so much to be thankful for! We are created and invited to choose to love and be loved by our Creator. David desired ONE THING - and that was to dwell in God's presence and to delight in Him. When we offer a sacrifice of praise and we are thankful, even in trying times, it demonstrates our love for Him, and He fills us to overflowing with a revelation of His love.
