In this episode, Chloe Mitchell chats with Billy Ekofo, Vice President of Business Solutions at LeadingRE, about what LeadingRE offers when it comes to relocations. Their impressive referral network and the ability for each member to be able to send and receive referrals to other members, offers peace of mind through the process and transaction.
Normally we discuss the leadership equation talking about the relationship between the Entrepreneur and their shotgun leader. This week, we will be changing the topic slightly to talk about how recent events in our world have raised our collective awareness about unconscious bias and how we can use this awareness as leaders to be the change we want to see in the world.
Racism is an uncomfortable topic for many people and a daily reality for too many others. With the recent death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer, the conversation of racism is once again at center stage and we wanted to dive in to help our Realtors and viewers understand it better. In this episode, we talk with LeadingRE VP, Billy Ekofo, who is uniquely positioned to offer us a new perspective based on his life story, his heritage and the color of his skin. Join us for an insightful, open ended chat that will cover a broad spectrum of issues related to racism in our society and even including its role in the real estate industry.

I am completely fascinated by what Billy Ekofo, lead manager at Century 21 Redwood in Virginia, is contributing to the real estate industry.Like so many before him, he was hesitant about becoming a real estate agent, but with a little push he took that leap of faith and we are grateful he did! He is the matchmaker of real estate connecting leads with the perfect agent. I think we all could use a Billy! Real estate is certainly a numbers game, but I think we get too caught up in getting to that next sale that we forget why we got into real estate in the first place…to help people! It is just as important to treat a $1,000,000 lead the same as a $200,000 lead. Every lead is looking for the same thing, a place to call home and someone to help them find it. Not every prospect is ready to buy/sell the second you meet with them, but establishing a relationship and building a rapport can lead to a sale. We have to change our instant gratification mindset, give the client value and a reason to come back to us when they are ready to take that leap. If you treat each lead like the people they are, the more likely you will have not only repeat business, but referrals because they trust you and the relationship you took the time to establish with them. Listen as Billy shares more about the importance of following up with your leads, having patience during the process, and continuing to give value whether they are ready to buy tomorrow or 6 months from now. He’s the magician of leads so take a listen and learn some magic! Episode 021 - Billy Ekofo and Day 3 Wrap Perhaps the most beautiful moment of Inman Connect was the reunion of Billy Ekofo with his family, who/whom he hadn't seen in 18 years. (We can't ever get the whole who/whom thing right, so we just put both.) There wasn't a dry eye in the house as Billy was reunited with his family as the main stage crowd watched in awe. Serendipitously, it was Billy who stopped by our Podcasting Command Center at Inman Connect San Francisco (PCCICSF) and shared his reactions, plans and feelings after that event. It was incredible! Check out Billy's powerful talk and the incredible moment that followed. (Link in the show notes below.) The Marketing Genius Podcast: Real Estate Marketing | Digital Strategy | Technology | Leadership
In today's tech-obsessed world, we're often told that technology is the answer—to happiness, to health, to success. That's certainly true in real estate, and it looks like agents and brokers are starting to listen. According to the NAR, the average agent spends about $850 a year on tech, while brokers spend over $1400. Of course, technology isn't everything. Just ask Billy Ekofo. As director of leads management at Century21 Redwood Realty, Billy spends his days ensuring that agents across ten offices in the Washington DC area have the tools they need to connect with prospects online. But Billy will be the first to tell you that converting leads isn't just about great software: it's about making a real human connection with people who are looking for help. In this interview, Billy offers his insights on how to bring online leads into the real world, and explains why the best realtors think of themselves not just as agents, but as agents of change.
