In this Brewbound interview, host Ray Latif speaks with Chris Swersey of Hop Products Australia and Steve Luke of Cloudburst Brewing to discuss the latest hop harvest, new investments in processing, and exciting beer collaborations. Chris shares insights on HPA's recent harvest, noting that yields and quality were well above average. He also highlights the company's new $35 million pellet plant, which will enhance the quality of their finished products. Steve discusses his experience brewing with HPA's Galaxy hops, particularly in the new collaboration beer "Yay Space," set to debut at the CBC. He explains how the beer blends fresh and aged lots of Galaxy, creating a balanced hazy IPA with a drier finish. With enthusiasm for the latest crop, both Chris and Steve express optimism about the future of Galaxy hops and the opportunities they create for brewers worldwide. For more information on Hop Products Australia and their latest hop innovations, visit hops.com.au. Be sure to check out Cloudburst Brewing and their latest collaboration, "Yay Space," at the Haas & HPA booth during CBC!
Steve Luke, founder and head brewer of Seattle's Cloudburst Brewing, joins Taplines today for a freewheeling conversation about an iconic moment — arguably, the iconic moment — of the 2018 Great American Beer Festival, which he single-handedly engineered both literally and figuratively with the help of a DIY t-shirt that read “F*CK AB-INBEV” across the front. There's a backstory there, more so than the standard David vs. Goliath dynamic that was popular to describe the relationship between craft brewers and macro brewers last decade. Tune in for the full scoop, as told by the man himself. Don't forget to like, review, and subscribe! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Episode 195 - Steve Luke, Cloudburst Brewing via Seattle Weekly Welcome to 2019, Thieves! We're kicking off a new year with an episode that we recorded last year. It's our second show from Boston on the morning after our live audience episode and right before the Beer Advocate IPA Fest. Stealing Beer with us this week is Steve Luke, the founder and brewer at Cloudburst Brewing in Seattle. He's celebrated for his recipes and take on the brewing industry, and also well known for wearing a shirt emblazoned with "Fuck AB" that he wore on stage at the Great American Beer Festival in 2018. He's got his reasons for that wardrobe choice: He once worked at Elysian, before the mega brewer's acquisition. In addition to talking about how that sale has altered his local beer landscape he took Augie and John on a guided tour of his brewing career. And there's something about Boston that brings out the best beer choices in people. Steve brought with him a bottle that was so special, so inspired that we actually thought about blanking out the name on the tape so that we could hoard all the goodness for ourselves. But, we love you too much to ever actually follow through. Check out the episode and let us know what you think!**Want to support us? We have launched a PATREON Page.
