Today, we're playing with voice assistants and thinking about the role of voices in gaming with our guest, game designer and NYU professor Frank Lantz. Over the past nightmare year of the coronavirus, many of us have been hunkered down, trying to figure out how to pass the time with our families. Board game sales on Amazon were up 4,000% percent in March, when Americans began sheltering in place. And, of course, we've also spent way more time interacting with digital technology. These two things have come together in a weird and delightful way in Lantz's game Hey Robot. Created by Lantz's family-owned company Everybody House Games, Hey Robot is a guessing game you play with a group of friends—including your voice assistant or smart speaker. The premise is simple: Make Google Home or Alexa utter the words written in a deck of cards. The questions it raises are complex: What are these digital entities that many of us interact with daily? How have web searches and voice-based computing changed the way we talk? And what does this reveal about language itself? Hey Robot is available in a free online Quarantine Edition that you can play remotely with your friends. The board game edition is available on Amazon. In the midst of a pandemic, the guys are here to discuss the craziness of the wrestling world over the last week. First they get into Wrestlemania being moved out of Tampa Bay to a two day event based out of the Performance Center, which led to mass cancellations across the independent wrestling scene and thoughts on when the WWE Hall of Fame could happen. Then they break down the AEW Dynamite episode in front of an empty Dailys Place and compare it to the WWE's episodes of Smackdown and Raw at the PC. Be safe everyone and hope this a good distraction for all of you!
The brothers are rewinding back to some of their favorite moments from previous seasons for summer!

Remember wayyyy back in Episode 8 when Deja and Bruce talked about their theoretical thoughts on shacking up? (If not, go back and listen lol). Well they're back to discuss it again, but this time more realistically! Like many couples, the two were granted the opportunity to live together about six months ago (because of remote work and online school). In this episode, they discuss their experience going from long distance to living together (in quarantine). They reflect on their learnings and challenges, as well. •••Be sure to follow/subscribe to us:Twitter - @tgsotpod (use #tgsot to tell us your thoughts!) & @lifeofsparklesYouTube - BruceRantsIG - @dejatheexplorer & @brucerantsTikTok - @brucerants
It's time to release the guilt and shame associated with doing well in this season. You can still hold space to have compassion, empathy and awareness for all the heaviness happening in the world while experiencing a season of growth, provision and blessing. If you are doing well, you can show up for others. You have NO idea how you showing up, can make an impact in someone's life. You have no idea how powerful what you have inside you is. If you are in a season where you are growing, and thriving and aligning with who you are created to be, you are your best self. When we are our best self, we can make an impact! And are are in need of positive impact right now friends.

In episode #7 of the Quarantine Edition series, we spoke with Dr. Tania Lodge, who was an earlier guest this season on episode #4. Dr. Tania Lodge is the Clinical Director of Minority Behavioral Health Group, the community mental health agency in Akron, OH. Dr. T specializes in providing culturally specific mental health services such as, psychotherapy, consultation, and group workshops centered around African Centered Psychology. In this episode we believed it was imperative to have Dr. T speak on the recent murder of George Floyd, the current protests, and how we are currently being further traumatized through the media and other outlets as another Black Death has become publicized. Dr. T gave us some insight and solutions to keep our mental health grounded during this time and she also spoke on why we cannot wait for the system of white supremacy to save us, because more times than not, white people will find a way to white people. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/liveyourpurposepodcast/support
