My guest today is Manori Sumanasinghe who spoke with me from her Neuma Mind Spa in Chinatown, Los Angeles. Manori is a Sri Lankan – American Designer and Entrepreneur, with a background in architecture and business. She is co-chair of the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) alumni council and has served as an assistant director at International Academy of Consciousness (IAC). Her husband is Nelson Abreu who I spoke with for episode 9 about the Neuma Mind Spa. While Nelson brings the technical expertise, Manori is the creative mind behind this project. They combine their expertise in design and technology, with nearly three decades of experience in mindfulness and heightened states and a passion for community building. They have created technologies that are inspired by energy mindfulness, meditation, sound healing, lucid sleep states such as out-of-body experiences (OBE), lucid dreams, and other ancient heightened state techniques. These technologies empower creatives, professionals, change makers, entrepreneurs and first responders by facilitating creative, healing, and transformative altered states. Ines Beyer spoke with me from her home in Düsseldorf, Germany. Ines is the author of the award winning book Death is not the end: understanding the transition between lives. Having gone through a personal life crisis facing her own mortality, she started to explore out-of-body experiences, near-death experiences, and the afterlife. She has volunteered at the International Academy of Consciousness (IAC) from 2008 – 2018, and taught classes on out-of-body experiences. During 2019 she worked with Mosaic Wellness and Education focusing on death and afterlife. She also studied Metaphysical Sciences and Past Life Hypnotherapy, and she is passionate about human consciousness evolution. When we spoke she was awaiting the imminent arrival of her first child. Reflecting on death and becoming fully conscious of our mortality is a key aspect of maturing as a consciousness and many spiritual traditions emphasise this. Ines’s approach is very evidence focused and we discuss the evidence that shows us that consciousness survives physical death, and indeed precedes physical birth. We explore what it means to die, and through that what it means to live. We consider how we can turn intellectual understanding of being more than our body into embodied knowledge and why many people who have Near Death Experiences struggle with their physical life subsequently. And as this interview took place against the current coronavirus pandemic, we also touch on whether a different perspective of death might give is a different perspective of what is happening. Nanci Trivellato is senior researcher with the International Academy of Consciousness (IAC) with a Master’s of Science degree in Psychological Research Methods. Born in Brazil and descended from Italian and Portuguese immigrants, she has lived a large part of her life abroad. She worked for many years in business administration and held an executive position with IBM prior to engaging in the field of consciousness science. She has experienced out-of-body experiences (OBEs) and other psi phenomena since the age of 7, stimulating her interest in the study of consciousness and multidimensional reality. Her know-how in teaching non-ordinary (psi) phenomena and subtle dimensions is grounded on over 25 years of experience. She places special value in helping individuals to understand the mechanisms that operate in such phenomena, as she believes this can empower them to positively control the experiences and enjoy their benefits. She also focuses on assisting them to distinguish mere brain processes or imagination from real paranormal or psi experiences, striving to empower them to truly develop their psychic awareness. This week, Luis Minero helps us demystify the OBE, working at IAC & some of his experiments while out of body Born in 1972, Luis Minero graduated with honors in Chemistry from Florida International University. He began studying and developing his abilities in paranormal phenomena in his early teens. After becoming a volunteer in Conscientiology in 1995 in Miami, Florida, he began giving classes on OBEs, paranormal phenomena and spiritual growth in 1996, including at the college level (Miami-Dade College) from 1997 to 2002. Since he speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, and German, he has lectured on various topics related to the out-of-body experience in several countries across Europe, North America and South America, and has helped thousands of individuals to develop their own skills. As a researcher, he has published several papers and has developed research lines in the sciences of Projectiology and Conscientiology. Several of his works have been published in the scientific Journal of Conscientiology. His research projects have led to the development of courses on Assistance (1997), Universalism (1999), Experience (2000), Intuition (2001) and Evolutionary Intelligence (2006). He was the Director of the Florida center from 1999-2001, and has been the Executive Director of the IAC California center since 2003. From 2006 to 2012, he was the Administrative Director of the IAC globally, from 2012 to 2014 the Education Director of IAC globally, and since June of 2014, he is the President of IAC globally. The International Academy of Consciousness (IAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research and education organization. Global Director of Education for International Academy of Consciousness (IAC), Luis Minero uses is scientific and skeptic mind to discover and share the reality of Out of Body Experiences (OBE's). I have never heard of this phenomena and it is an AWESOME INTERVIEW. Many people's lives are changed when they have a near death experience, but they are mostly caused from near tragic experiences that harm our body. In a safe environment, Luis tells us we can CAUSE and out of body experience and see much of what a person does (including deceased loved ones) in an OBE. Could you imagine? He leaves us with a lot to think about. Luis is a brilliant man with a refreshing sense of humor, speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and German fluently and did I mention brilliant?
