Hello and welcome to the final episode of season 18. 18!!!! My guest today is the cook, Thomasina Miers. Despite being taught to cook as a child, Tommi didn't really embrace her love of food until her late 20s when a trip to Mexico inspired a love of Mexican food that was to change her life. In 2005, she became the first person ever to win Masterchef and two years later she co-founded the successful Mexican restaurant chain Wahaca. Tommi has also cheffed in Michelin star kitchens, set up Chefs in Schools and also works with the soil association. She was awarded an OBE in 2019 for her services to the food industry. She has also written nine cookbooks, the latest of which is Mexican Table which celebrates the flavour, culture and ingredients of the country she loves and has been visiting for over 30 years. Tommi and I talked feeling a failure in your twenties, being diagnosed with ADHD in your 40s, finding herself through cooking, how she learnt to stop using work to self medicate, recovering from the perimenopause crash, how a midlife family flit to Mexico rebuilt her and why she hopes she'll still be in hot pants at 80. The self-taught chef heads up the double Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, has trained chefs from Heston Blumenthal to Marco Pierre White, and received an honorary OBE in 2008. His new book Simply Raymond Kitchen Garden is out now.The chef tells Liv and Lara about his earliest memories of food – from eating worms to easter eggs, how his love of food is connected to the garden and why he owes his existence to General de Gaulle. He explains how he ended up becoming 'exiled' to Great Britain, how he fell in love with Le Manoir and why he would have to choose an English chef to cook his dream meal. In the spiritual realm, she encountered souls as radiant orbs and understood that death is not an end, only a return to divine love. She saw that no one is judged by God—only by themselves in a life review, feeling the impact of their choices on others. Darkness, she learned, has no power unless we feed it with fear and shame. She was told: “Know thyself. Be the Light. Be the Love.” Back in her body, shaken but changed, she realized everything was divinely guided—even her partner's call that saved her. She now lives with the truth that love is the only thing that matters, and that we are never alone.

In 1973–74, while training in film and television, I underwent surgery and was plunged into darkness under anesthesia. I raced through a tunnel toward a radiant, living Light—an overwhelming presence of pure love. Just before I could merge with it, a commanding voice asked, "Are you ready to die?" Terrified, I begged for another chance. The Voice responded, "You promised to help others. You have failed." After pleading with all my being, I was granted a second chance.I found myself in cosmic space, shrinking into a dot of consciousness. The Voice, now plural yet unified, said, "In the beginning was God..." I understood that God is the source, boundary, and life of all existence. I was within God and yet myself. I saw a past life and was reminded of my purpose: to help others awaken spiritually. When I awoke in the operating room, only ninety minutes had passed, though it felt like a journey through eternity.Recommended experience.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9sMEjCg_2E&t=1133s

Candice M. Sanderson “Candice Sanderson takes us on a journey that in times past was reserved only for initiates laboring in the secret confines of mystery schools. But this book demonstrates that what was once available only to a select few, is now happening spontaneously to ordinary (and sometimes reluctant) people. It is a harbinger of things to come. If you want an advance glimpse into the next stage of human evolution, read this book!" ~ Paul Rademacher, former Executive Director of The Monroe Institute and author of A Spiritual Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe.https://candicesanderson.com/about.html
Daniel went through a difficult period in his life, struggling with poor health and emotional distress. One night, after consuming too much coffee, he was unable to sleep and experienced what seemed to be a near-death experience (NDE). His heart stopped for several seconds, during which he felt detached from his body, saw his life flash before him, and experienced a profound sense of peace and knowledge beyond human comprehension. He believed he was close to joining a divine entity but ultimately returned to life, realizing he still had a purpose on Earth. After restarting his heart himself and visiting the hospital, he learned his condition was due to nutrient deficiencies causing arrhythmia. His NDE profoundly changed him, leaving him with a heightened understanding of life and death, an increased IQ, and a belief that life is a learning journey before returning to a greater existence.Today recommended video....https://youtu.be/Ag_5i2c95U4

Engineering has moved inside the body to innovate like never before. In neuro-science, brain implants can provide ‘psychic' communication for people with locked-in syndrome. In medication a new technology aims to deliver chemo therapy and other drugs directly to the parts that need them by bubbles in the blood stream. And ingestible electronics are being made to fight disease by sending antibody-directing messages straight from the gut to the brain. The BBC and the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 have come together to stage a special event. Presenter Caroline Steel is joined by Tom Oxley, professorial fellow at Melbourne Medical School; Eleanor Stride, OBE, professor of Biomaterials at the University of Oxford; Khalil Ramadi, director of the Ramadi Lab for Advanced Neuro-engineering and Translational Medicine in Abu Dhabi; Assistant Professor of Bioengineering, New York University.

Randy Draughon's most significant NDE (near death experience) happened as a result of a drug overdose. He died and was transported to a horrific place with flames over his head. He even saw a giant 8-10 foot tall demon. It wasn't until his darkest moment of despair and desperation that he finally screamed, "Jesus!" Immediately he was back in his body, free from pain and torture. In that place he did not feel God's love. The roar of the fire was so loud that it traumatized him for many days following the NDE. Randy had two other significant NDE-related experiences in his life that may be categorized more as out of body (OBE) experiences; one with the beauty, light and love of heaven. In this episode, Randy opens up and explains his journey. He no longer has any fear of death, but has learned that both heaven and hell are real. ________Video version of this podcast: https://youtu.be/CbS1au2tx-YRoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
What are the contents of Out of Body Experiences? How closely do they map the actual physical world? Is it possible to induce them purposefully? How do modern practices compare to indigenous shamanic ones?In this Episode we look at the scientific, religious, cultural and historical contexts of Out of Body Experiences, also known as astral projection - so the experience in which an individual appears to leave their body and be able to travel around the world and into other dimensions, often meeting other worldly entities, similarly to DMT psychedelic experiences, (see Episode #73, “DMT Entity Experiences”). So, we get into the phenomenology- the various things people experience; potential neurobiological explanations; and the possibility of inducing the experiences on purpose and of exploring alternate realities; we get into indigenous traditions of ‘Shamanic flight' and which people might be predisposed to these alternate states of consciousness; and we end up talking about a potential connection between OBE, sleep paralysis and ludic dreaming. To discuss this slippery topic, we have a researcher who is also a lifelong experiencer, who has devoted her career to trying to understand these phenomena, the medical anthropologist and author Samantha Lee Treasure; she has an MA in Medical Anthropology from SOAS university in London, has been a brain science research assistant at the University of Liege, and has just released her first book on the topic, “Out of Body experiences”, the release of which this episode is timed to coincide with. What we discuss:00:00 Intro.11:30 What is medical anthropology?16:00 OBE entity research.22:15 Samantha's New Book - getting beyond preconceptions.25:50 OBE vs Astral projection - bypassing the taboo.30:00 Common reported OBE experiences.33:00 Mental body schemas and projected models of the world.37:00 Do OBE's map the real world accurately?45:00 Olaf Blanke - the Temporoparietal junction discovery.48:45 No sense of smell during OBE nor processed by the TPJ.49:40 Techniques to induce OBE's intentionally.53:45 Bob Monroe's perspective switching technique.55:30 Shamanic flight practices in Tuva, Siberia.59:35 The sonezen - the perceiving mind self.01:01:00 This is not for everyone, it can be scary.01:05:00 The predisposition for some to have these experiences.01:10:45 Crossovers between NHI Contact and OBE entity experiences.01:14:20 Genealogical predispositions.01:18:25 “Reality Shifting” and the role of intention in OBE.References: Samantha Lee Treasure, “Out-of-Body Experiences: Explorations and encounters with the astral plane”.Stephen Le Berge, “Pre-sleep treatment with Galantamine stimulates lucid dreaming” paperOlaf Blanke, “Linking out-of-body experience and self processing to mental own-body imagery at the temporo-parietal junction” paper. What does it look like to multiply disciples and churches across cultures, languages, and borders? In this episode, Jesse Cruickshank sits down with Obe and Jacqueline Arellano, leaders of Exponential Español, to explore the vibrant and growing movement of the Spanish-speaking church—both in the United States and throughout Latin America. From their base in Mexico City, the Arellanos are equipping churches to move from decline and plateau into reproduction and multiplication. They share what's translating well across contexts, how principle-based discipleship is catalyzing change, and why the Hispanic church may be the key to revitalizing Christianity in North America. We also dive into the complex realities of immigration, spiritual warfare, and the prophetic opportunity for the Latin American church to become a refuge and a launching pad for mission. Obe Carrion is the guest of this episode of the Climbing Business Journal podcast, hosted by John Burgman. Obe has long been one of the biggest names in the game as a pro climber. Over the years, he has worked with multiple brands, and he's been in multiple climbing films, including the 1998's Free Hueco! and 1999's Rampage. He has been a coach, a mentor, and through all of the evolutions he has remained a force of nature in the climbing industry. Darius J Wright has had thousands of out-of-body (OBE) experiences since childhood and has seen the Earth as a giant dome comprising one dimension. He has traveled to other dimensions where he has encountered non-human intelligences that include extraterrestrials, Anunnaki, Angels, and Seraphim. He says that many extraterrestrials travel to our dimension through portals that facilitate interdimensional travel.Wright asserts that the soul is what travels in OBEs, which are functionally equivalent to near-death experiences. He says that the soul cannot be trapped or controlled without one's beliefs allowing this. Wright claims to have traveled to Antarctica, where he encountered red-haired giants in stasis chambers, which aligns with information about the fallen angels described in the Book of Enoch. He is dedicated to the “Great Work” of educating people about OBEs and life beyond the physical realm.Darius J. Wright's Website is: https://dariusjwright.com

Nadim was a successful entrepreneur, happily married, and with two wonderful children. But the dream life was shattered when he took his daughter Natasha and her best friend on holiday to France. Tragically, Natasha had an anaphylactic reaction shortly after takeoff after ingesting sesame seeds in her sandwich, from which she never recovered. Subsequently, Nadim and his wife Tanya founded the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, and their campaigning - for which they were both awarded an OBE by the Queen - has led to changes in the law.
