#UFCColumbus #ChrisRock #WillSmith #TheSlap #WorldCup We welcomed our old friend Stephane Cappellini to conduct a podcast with us to breakdown the UFC fight card from Columbus Ohio and preview UFC 273. We missed our usual Monday evening guest Jason Cameron who is at home recovering from an accident. We extend our best wishes and words of encouragement for a speedy recovery! Stephane did a great job in relief though and this was a fun podcast that you will enjoy! This episode was supposed to focus on MMA and the latest fight cards but started with a couple of very topical subjects. The Oscars that took place this past weekend were upstaged by Will Smith taking offense to a joke about his wife(Jada Pinkett Smith) and delivered by comedian Chris Rock. He marched up and got on stage and slapped Rock across the face. When he returned to his seat he screamed twice at Rock to keep his wife's name out of his mouth and used some expletives to emphasize his point. It was all people could talk about all day today! Most observers thought it was a staged comedic bit until Smith(who eventually won best actor) repeated his warning so loudly and with such dramatic emphasis. Let us know your thoughts on the incident. You will enjoy the lively discussion about the great feat of the Canadian Men's Soccer team winning their qualifying group and advancing to the World Cup for the first time in 36 years! This became another unifying moment in the country's history as the run that this team was on edged closer to solidifying the most coveted berth. In this proud nations sporting history this will be remembered as an incredibly defining moment of patriotism and nationalism. Congratulations to the entire team and surrounding staff that brought millions of fans from coast to coast together! On the heels of the UFC in the UK this fight card had a lot to live up to and the live crowd in Columbus, Ohio did their best to voice their support or displeasure at every opportunity. The main and co-main events were overshadowed on the evening by an all out war between a home town favorite in Matt( The Immortal) Brown and Bryan(Bam Bam) Barbarena. Our host Darren Campbell said it was one of his top ten fights of all time in terms of a toe to toe brawl. The last two fights really showcased the contenders from the pretenders and definitely moved the winners into the upper echelon of their respective weight classes. Even though Curtis( Razor ) Blaydes has lost twice to the current champ Francis(The Predator) Ngannou and once to Derrick (The Black Beast) Lewis he has entered into the conversation of the title picture in the Heavyweight division. With Ngannou recovering from knee surgery the promotion will undoubtably hold an interim champion fight and Blaydes will probably be in the contest. His opponent for now remains a mystery but there will be a lot of speculation and the boys give out the names of the possible combatants. This was another fun card that was entertaining to watch and also a pleasure to breakdown with Stephane(Great Capo) Cappellini. #SBLVI #UFC271 #NBA Happy Valentines Day everyone I hope that you all had a nice day with your significant other. What better way to celebrate than breakdown an amazing weekend in sports. The Super Bowl was a close, competitive game and a great ending to a historic NFL season. The playoffs have been phenomenal and it was a a massive event in the $5 Billion Sofi stadium in LA. The host team Rams won the game by a score of 23 to 20 over the upstart Cincinnati Bengals. The two big stars from the Rams were the best players on the field on Sunday. The MVP was Cooper Kupp who had the greatest season for any receiver ever. The defensive rock was Aaron Donald who won the defensive player of the year and was the catalyst for the victory. The Halftime show was epic and will probably go down as the best performance in the big games history. The UFC 271 was a great card as the big middleweight title fight was the main event. Israel "The last Stylebender" Adesanya was defending his belt again against Robert "The Reaper" Whitaker. Izzy was the better man and kept his strap with a unanimous decision victory. The co-main had a big boy Heavyweight tilt on the docket Tai Tuivasa joined the upper echelon of the division with a huge KO of Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis. We closed out the episode talking about the NBA and the busy week behind with the trade deadline and the week ahead with the All Star game coming up. Bloody Elbow fight experts, Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado, are here to breakdown the UFC Vegas 45: ‘Lewis vs. Daukaus' Fight Night event from Las Vegas, NV. The guys have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. The UFC showcased a Heavyweight brawl in the main event of UFC Vegas 45. We had the No. 3 UFC ranked, former Legacy FC Heavyweight Champion & former Bellator competitor, Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis, with a 25-8 record, specializing in BJJ, entering the octagon to combat the No. 7 ranked former police officer, who is also notably the younger brother of fellow UFC fighter Kyle Daukaus, with a current record of 12-3, but undefeated in the UFC, with four KO's of his own. Despite their rankings, Lewis managed to enter this bout as a slight underdog with Daukaus being favored by the oddsmakers. It made no difference to Lewis what the odds were, he intended to walk in, get a vintage early knockout to top off his UFC KO record... and that is just what he did. Meanwhile, the co-main event featured Welterweight contenders Stephen ‘Wonderboy' Thompson and Belal ‘Remember the Name' Muhammad, in a brawl which many felt should have been the main event. No. 5 ranked, South Carolina Kickboxing Phenom, Thompson held a 16-5 record entering the octagon tonight. Meanwhile, the Chicagoan BJJ expert, Muhammad, was ranked down in the No. 10 slot, after having formerly competed for Bellator and Titan FC he holds a record of 19-3 walking into this bout. For much more detail on the main card and plenty of tidbits about the prelims, be sure to hit play on the show and hear what our fight experts have to say about the event last night. Overall, this now 13-bout card saw 3 1st Rd finishes, 7 KO/TKO's, 3 subs, & 3 decisions, 1 of them split.
