In 1973 Alan Bursky burst on the comedy scene in a big was when he was just 17 and being the youngest comedian to ever perform on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. He was also involved in booking entertainment in the early days of the Magic Island. But long before that when he was growing up in New York, he developed a friendship with David Kotke aka David Copperfield. Later while on the comedy circuit, he befriended Freddie Prinze who starred in “Chico and the Man” television series. He was a roommate with Freddie for a while. He also booked Steve Martin and Rodney Dangerfield, among many other notable comedians. Now he is preparing for going back out to sea doing comedy on cruise ships. Woman Punches the Wrong Teen… Big Mistake

We recorded this with Tim Tszyu last year, and his shower story keeps coming up in recent episodes, so we have pulled fifteen minutes of it back out of the vault. Tim is a former world champion from Sydney, and boxing runs deep in the family. His dad Kostya was an undisputed world champion and Hall of Famer, and his younger brother Nikita fights professionally too. Since we spoke he has strung together back to back wins, the most recent over Denis Nurja on Easter Sunday, and on 26 July he steps in with Errol Spence Jr in Sydney, the biggest fight of his career. We appreciate him making the time back when he did. In this section, Tim describes what a flow state actually feels like from inside the ropes. The place where the world switches off, time slows down, where he can "hear his opponent's heartbeat". He explains why there is no such thing as a fluke punch, and how one clean right hand is really years of repetition. We get into stacking days, staying hungry when success comes easily, and why he refuses to get comfortable. He talks about the emptiness of his first loss and how it made him want to reclaim his throne, the five weeks between that loss and his wedding that finally gave him some balance, and the shower ritual he uses to wash off a hard day and reset before a fight. Plus the training methods he chose not to inherit from his dad, and the grandfather who still tells him he looks fat. Death Run (1987) / Mutant City (1987) is the kind of movie that makes you wonder if everyone involved had a completely different copy of the script. It's a post-apocalyptic adventure assembled from spare parts, pocket change, and what appears to be an unlimited supply of confidence. Somehow, despite operating on a budget that probably wouldn't cover catering on most productions, the film often looks surprisingly respectable. The costumes are passable, the locations work, and the camera operators generally manage to point the lens in the right direction. That's already several steps ahead of many direct-to-video wasteland adventures from the era. Unfortunately, once the plot starts moving, all bets are off. The story lurches from event to event with a remarkable disregard for cause and effect. Characters make decisions that seem specifically designed to sabotage their own survival. Entire scenes feel as though critical pages of exposition were lost on the drive to set. The result is a movie where you stop asking "Why are they doing that?" and instead begin admiring the sheer audacity required to keep marching forward without answers. Every new development feels less like storytelling and more like a random encounter table being rolled in real time. What truly elevates Death Run into so-bad-it's-good territory, however, is its action. The stunt choreography is breathtakingly awful. Fights frequently resemble people attempting to remember moves they learned fifteen minutes earlier. Punches miss by feet, combatants patiently wait their turn to fall down, and chases unfold with all the urgency of a Sunday stroll. There are moments where you can practically see performers negotiating who is supposed to lose the fight while the cameras are rolling. It's not merely bad action—it's action that seems to reject the basic concept of physical momentum. Yet that's exactly why the movie works as cult entertainment. There's an undeniable earnestness behind every scene. Nobody involved appears to be phoning it in. The filmmakers clearly wanted to create an exciting post-apocalyptic epic and, against all odds, they assembled something watchable from almost nothing. The competence of the production values constantly clashes with the baffling storytelling and hilariously inept action, creating a perfect storm of unintentional comedy. Death Run may not be a good movie by any conventional measure, but for fans of cinematic train wrecks, it's a fascinating and frequently hilarious journey through a wasteland where logic was the first casualty.

A cat feeder in California, meant to monitor Ivy and Tony's two pet cats unintentionally captures the following events on camera.   12:21 am, Ivy walks into the kitchen and starts cleaning up. By 1:04 am, Ivy turns off the lights and heads to bed.   4:43 am and suddenly movement is detected. Tony, her husband, comes into frame with his shirt splattered in a deep red substance. He wanders out of frame only to return wielding a circular hand saw - the electric ones with a rotating blade and serrated edges made to cut two by fours.   He's tense. Rigid. The electric saw isn't on but he has it pressed against his throat. The serrated blade is frozen. His finger hovers over the power button. All he needs to do is just. press. down.   He pulls the saw away from his neck and walks out of frame again.   The next time he's caught on the pet feeder, one of his arms is completely swollen, drenched in blood.
