Society over the years has changed that. That, in part, is why so many communities are falling apart. Men have to get back into our groups for the sake of our families and communities. And women have to be on board with that basic human need. Most women have their lady groups. But some of them scoff at the idea of men getting together for a night out. Quite frankly, some men have given women reason to be suspicious. Myself included. We have to regain the trust of our wives and get back into our healthy and supporting groups. I'm a Pastor and just got fired You might think there are still some jobs that are immune from firing, but I can't think of any. Last week I talked to a “tenured” professor who just got fired and pastors are being fired in droves. Even the President is constantly under threat of hearing his own phrase, “You're Fired.” Your security is never in the job, but in knowing how your skills transfer to multiple organizations. Other questions we discuss: How does one go through a career hunting process when they are very happy in their current career but are forced to make a change? How can I reinvent myself for a new career? Every job I see I don't meet the qualifications since I am just a customer service rep. I recently got fired. Should I find another job as a pastor, get my PhD or what? “When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson Tweet This “Is there a way to insureThat your job's safe and secureAre you going to bendWith every trendAnd successfully go around each detour” Poem by Cliff Feightner Show Notes Episode – 05-26-17 Title: N/A Subtitle: N/A Summary: In this episode, Dan reminds us that there's no job that can provide the utmost certainty and security—no matter what industry or field. We exert so much energy into locking into a state of job security; perhaps what we need to do is invest in learning about our skills and the value we can offer to others. Listen as Dan shares numerous tips on how you can make use of your skills and resources; whether it's for the sake of reinventing yourself or leveraging the expertise and passions you already have.
