Whatever the goal is, whatever you guys use, write it down, and then do something no one does after they write it down. If you wrote it down, you're already 90% above everybody else. Take that last 10% and read it out loud. Then if you find yourself falling off or not sure why, just pull it back out. Don't forget about it. The more you write, the more you can focus. People don't write things out anymore. I'm not talking about typing it. Don't type it and no, don't put in your phone. Get a pen and a paper and write it down like you learned in elementary school. 01:06:20 – Final Words from Brian: I just bought a really good new journal. I'm a...

Myco being the Greek word for fungus and toxins, obviously a poisonous substance. So when you're dealing with the health end of it, that's if you go to a doctor that specializes in mold toxicity, they're looking at how can they pull the mycotoxins out of your body, through binders and things along those lines. But interesting enough, most of the guys in this space don't even look for mycotoxins. They might do an air sample, but that's just testing for spores. The thing that's actually the most poisonous for humans is what mold releases to defend its territory, which is a mycotoxin. 17:30 – Mold loves glue and it loves wood. So you're gonna have a moldy mess throughout the entire house, which we've definitely seen that too. So I've got to do this, go do that, I haven't got time for this. I'm gonna, you know, start next month and I think that's it is very simple and the thing that I think people want to do before anything, and I've been doing it since I was a junior bodybuilder, sort of 16-17 years old and I've been I'm 52 now. So I've been doing it for all my life pretty consistently, I'm a little bit of an anomaly. But I think for the average person that hasn't done that consistently for years and years and years, then really, the most important thing that you need to focus on is creating a habit, where you're gonna fit some kind of activity, or movement into your life. I've not actually met any people that have not been able to create a habit of cleaning their teeth, at least in the morning, and when they get up and before they go to bed in an evening. 20:30 - For whatever reason, everybody is obsessed, relationships break down for it, everything is really driven about people's desire for money, what they think money is going to give them. 31:00 - We've got a pretty decent process and we're predominantly business to business. Shari's Bio Continued: Shari obtained a B.A. in Biology from Stockton University in 2011. In 2008, she took on an immense love for boxing and padwork training. In 2012, Shari began her training at Commando Krav Maga and Diamond Mixed Martial Arts Academy, a Muay Thai, Krav Maga, and Jiu-Jitsu studio located in Philadelphia. When she moved to Los Angeles, she later became a boxing instructor at Title Boxing. Before taking an initial cross country road trip which she completed in 3 days, Shari obtained her 200-hour Power Yoga certification from Grace and Glory Yoga, located in New Jersey, in 2017. After getting an initial taste of Los Angeles, she fell so in-love with the city that she decided to take a one-way-flight with no set place to stay to truly find her way after taking a break for one month. This journey had to be undertaken to complete her first book, which would lay the groundwork and foundation she had been searching for all of her life. Trauma and a difficult upbringing created a pretty unsteady foundation. Her recently published book creates a road map that got her onto better roads, and she hopes to help people from all walks of life walk on better roads as a result of reading her book. Along with yoga and boxing, she was able to complete two 10-day Vipassana meditation retreats at S.N. Goenka's meditation center in Shelburne Falls, MA. These modalities helped her to understand the importance of discipline that helped to create this book, and also were modalities which helped her to heal emotionally and physically. It's don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, all these different things, but some people you have, there's a certain wiring for a reason. 23:00 - Oh, from the outside looking in, or I'm very much the same. I like real, because I've been through so much in my life. So what I like to hear those stories of like rags to riches or so for me, it's a viewer. Gain the Coaching and Mentorship to be Successful in Business and in Life: SPECIAL Timing Note: We originally recorded this episode in November 2021. Thank you in advance as we catch up on episode releases since our host, Scott Mulvaney, started returning from his time off to finish writing and self-publishing his inspirational first book, "So You Want To Be A Hotshot" on Amazon. Kim Daly has spent the last 20 years helping people achieve financial freedom by enabling them to find the perfect franchise opportunities. Her skill for matching a client's background, interests, skills, finances and life goals to the ideal opportunity has made her one of the top franchise consultants in the country. Today, we are here to pick her brain and gain some insight into what can seem like a daunting process - deciding on the perfect franchise to enable you to gain financial freedom. So I was working inside a franchise company and I became like a very high paid salesperson very quickly, I figured out like, you know, relationship and you know, how to be you know, drive result because I was, again always into goals and, you know, discipline and self-motivation. 10:55 - Now, there's the book theory of running a business and then there's real world. The example I always give is, look, I can tell you what it's like to ride a bike, since you're a cyclist, right? I can tell you what you're going to do mechanically. But until you sit on a bike and feel what it feels like to balance a bike underneath you, you can't really understand what it feels like to ride a bike. 20:25 - I will first backup to say. If I stopped growing, how can I be one of America's top consultants? That's ridiculous. So yeah, I reached the pinnacle of what I do as a franchise consultant years ago, but my friends are like, no moss grows on your drink. So I'm gonna say I peaked at 40 and then I never dared take a chance or do anything different?! So no, what I did was, I wasn't able to then turn to mentors inside my industry. But I found mentors outside of my industry, I found people who were creating wealth, in ways different than what I was using, real estate syndication, using infinite banking policies, using storage, using real tangible assets, I found somebody that had personal net worth of $100 million. 30:00 - We all have the internal power to create that WHY for ourselves. That's what fuels every single thing. My WHY isn't money, my WHY is influence, my WHY is helping people I see. The satisfaction for me, isn't taking somebody from I have the dream to leave corporate America, or I have the dream to own a business. But I don't know how to make it come true and taking them through a one to two month process to where I'm happily marrying them off to their franchisor. 40:25 - In a lot of businesses, the franchisor doesn't want the investor to invest in the land up front, save your cash, put it into the business, make sure this is a business you're going to enjoy. Make sure you have enough cash flow to get the business up and positively, you know, cash flowing, and then maybe look to buy out your landlord over time. Automotive is like a great industry for that for people that ultimately want to own the real estate. 49:20 - Final Words Shown Below… ...

So if it's not totally dark, when you're sleeping, your body knows. Our bodies, even if you're covering your eyes, your body can tell that the light is there, because every single cell in our body is being programmed by that light. So I've done all these things and then like drinking a Red Bull before you go to bed, right? 21:50 - One of the things I was learning was the importance of being in the sun for making vitamin D. I knew you couldn't make vitamin D in the winter and a lot of places, but I'd never thought much about it beyond that. I gave my kids a supplement, because the pediatrician told me to and that was kind of it. So I downloaded the D minder app, which tells you where the sun is in the sky, and it geo locates you and tells you how much vitamin D you can make on that day, depending on where you are. 32:15 - I love it. That's beautiful, Scott, and that's exactly it, right? It goes back to what we were saying before. You can take really good care of yourself. But then if you go to bed in a pile of asbestos, everything you've done that day is not going to save you right. So it's if not taking care of our light is like I would say as toxic as sleeping in a pile of asbestos. 40:45 - You do want to be getting some blue light during the day. That's the reason the darker the lenses, the more blue light is being blocked. There is no blue light in nature after sunset. There is blue light present in nature, during the day, especially around high noon. However, the natural light that you get from the sun, while it contains some of the blue spectrum, you never get just the blue on its own. It's always balanced out with some orange and some yellow and some red. I mean, it's the Sci Fi like it's not blue. So high noon, when you when it's like that really bright, intense light, that's when you have the most blue light present and the least red and then sunrise and sunset. Obviously, it flips around and the blue almost disappears. So if you were nighttime blue blockers during the day, you're still messing up your circadian rhythm. Because...

What we do in our gratitude videos that we've talked about, is we have encompassed some of that, let's call it strategy. We don't take the technical approach to it, you don't have to understand what binaural beats are to appreciate what we've done. 06:00 - We've encompassed some of that in our gratitude videos, because we find that it's more engaging to the listener. There is something about the mind, it wants to kind of resolve that little slight difference that they hear and in the frequency, the tone. So that makes it more engaging to draw you into meditation. 10:00 - I mean, it is very, very interesting how people react to certain music and when I am getting ready to volunteer again for the convalescent homes, and the the director, the activity director that I spoke to said, those Alzheimer's patients don't remember the names or the the places...

Our Skiing Themed Wedding of Heliskiing, Backcountry Cat-Skiing, and more in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada:This is a quick and short, special podcast episode to reflect on our return from our #HELIYES heliskiing wedding. That's right, I actually got married! Dr. Kristen Fenstermacher VMD of All Points Equine and I, Scott Mulvaney of LIVETHEFUEL said "I DO" the only way we know how... on an adventure skiing in the Canadian Rockies baby!!! Live The Fired Up Epic Life! - Quoted: Scott Mulvaney Top 3 Hot Points:Our ski wedding hashtag is #HELIYES We highly recommend backcountry skiing! RK Heliski and Great Northern Snowcat Skiing are epic! So that'll be coming out when I can get it there. I'm still finishing editing on that, so that's taken longer than I expected. That was the theme of our wedding, it was hey guys, let's go have an adventure. Let's do some heliskiing. Let's rock out and have a good time. [spp-timestamp time="09:30"] We rocked out some serious old school and amazing onesie ski suits. Mine was three different shades of purple and blue. I'm quite proud of it and I'm not getting rid of it. I spent $150US on eBay for that bad boy and it is in mint condition. [spp-timestamp time="10:45"] So we went skiing for a couple of days after heliski and then we had a Snowcat skiing trip booked, which was awesome! Normally they're actually using them to groom the ski slopes or open up remote mountain roads, but they actually mount big metal boxes on the back of them and so you can carry people. So instead of flying you into the backcountry like we did the first week. We had them drive us up into the backcountry in and around where they were based in a remote part of British Columbia. [spp-timestamp time="15:30"] Luckily my lung and rib muscles held up and I was able to do a lot of crazy stuff. I was not at my full physical fitness level but still pulled everything off that I could. Now that I'm back, it's time to do some riding because I got some training ahead. Come this July I'll be doing my first 100-mile mountain biking race of all things, the Wilderness 101 aka W101. [spp-timestamp time="17:00"] The wedding ring I bout is a black zirconium, wrapped in elk antler bone, inlayed with a ring of brown teak wood. [spp-tweet tweet="You Too Can LIVETHEFUEL! @livethefuel "] Top 3 Hot Points:Nutrition: what you put in is what you get out. Rest and Recovery: your body and mind heal the most at night. Self-Care: be your own Inner Physician, take accountability for your health. Final Words:My final public service announcement is if you know tall, lean athletes, don't scare them with this, but make sure they're aware of blebs and what a Spontaneous Pneumothorax. A partially collapsed lung is no joke. I did find out from a good friend of mine, that her son's girlfriend last year was finishing a softball tournament championship and the same exact injury happened to her because she was a tall, lanky, lean athlete. Now granted, I'm 41, so they're not expecting this type of stuff. I guess that's the fun of me being a health and fitness junkie, is I could survive a lung collapse better than most but you can still get injured. So again, last part of the big picture message here. Take care of yourself. Focus on self-care, what you put in is what you get out regarding nutrition. It's important but also proper rest, and recovery, along with proper mindset, stress relief, and bringing the cortisol levels down. I was pulling out all the stops and I'm still pulling out all the stops so I can bounce back as fast and as healthy as possible. How do you show up in your life? Are you living your best life every day? Today’s show is full of inspiration to help you leave the mundane behind and push yourself to never again accept mediocrity as your normal. Scott Mulvaney channels his health-nut, adrenaline-junkie energy into everything he influences. That same energy comes through on his LIVETHEFUEL podcast, which helps fuel your health, business, and lifestyle. Scott focuses on sales and marketing growth, brand strategy, coaching, and consulting solutions to help you control how you exist online. There are very few people as passionate as Scott about living his best life every day. Wanting something “different” Can you look back at specific circumstances in your life and see the lessons learned? For Scott, the life lessons are everywhere as he contemplates his life journey. He was raised in a farm family in NJ that relocated later to PA, where Scott’s family still lives and works in farming today. Scott, however, wanted something different. He never thought he would go to college because school was never easy or comfortable, but then he discovered vocational tech school. He interned at an electronics lab at 17 years old and then learned a tough lesson when he was let go from the lab he built so an adult could be hired to run the lab. TWEET: Life lessons are everywhere, so don’t be afraid to look for them in your successes and failures. #chasingdreams A two-year detour Scott went on to achieve college degrees in marketing AND psychology, but then something changed. He met a girl from the west coast who aspired to be a Hotshot firefighter. He thought that sounded like an interesting challenge, and said to himself, “What if this is the next phase of my dream?” The training and the concept blew his mind, so in 2010, he went out west and proved himself for two years. Since the Hotshot “season” was only a few months of the year, he spent the other months traveling and making some crazy connections with all kinds of people. TWEET: What they taught me in school, I don’t use. #chasingdreams Why LIVETHEFUEL? If you’ve ever contemplated doing a podcast, you’ve probably toyed with what you would name your show. Scott had listened to a lot of podcasts as he was busy helping a friend grow her company, but he knew there was something more he was meant to do. For inspiration, he covered a wall with Post-It notes of every keyword that meant something to him. He took the mantra, “Live life to the fullest” and altered it to “Live the fired-up epic life”-----and the acronym FUEL was born. Now, Scott is busy writing a book, for which he plans to donate his proceeds to the families of fallen firefighters. TWEET: What if I could write a book and NOT make money from it? #chasingdreams **For a bonus behind-the-scenes conversation with Scott, visit http://ww.aimeej21/patreon and become a Patreon Donor. A mobile podcast for Thanksgiving-On-The-Street with Yes!Solutions:This is solo recorded episode while traveling to NYC for Yes!Solutions. I'm promoting our annual volunteer work that is accomplished for Thanksgiving in Harlem, NYC. This episode is about the StreetCorner Gourmets and the non-profit work of Yes Solutions founded by Sister Mary Lanning. We even get our turkeys cooked by surrounding NYC Fire Departments! Thanksgiving Day every year. All-night Wednesday and all-day Thursday. Help is always needed all week long. Launching our StreetCorner Gourmets winter season is the first of our extravagant, touching Three Lonely Holidays On The Street. We Bring Belonging Back! We bring the holidays to the sidewalk for those who don’t have a home or family. We prepare a sumptuous hot meal, cooked overnight and delivered hot from the stove to our street corner table which is a bench at a bus stop. We spend the day with our guests, enjoying conversation, companionship, laughs, family histories, and the happy, eager attentions of our own children and grandchildren. We eat together—turkey, all the go-withs, and enough homemade sweet potato pies to have seconds. And thirds. And take-homes (wherever Home is.) Original StreetCorner Gourmets recipes, prepared overnight on Thanksgiving Eve in our borrowed B-I-G kitchen and in dozens of private homes; delivered hot to the street by whole families, sharing their meal con gusto. As mentioned in my previous episode, we're changing things up on the podcast and bringing you all in for the journey. Thus, we’ve split this particular episode into two parts. Part I (Episode 36) had addressed Scott’s corporate background and how he transitioned into an elite branch of firefighting known as the Hotshots. Coincidentally enough, a movie based on the Hotshots just came out in theaters in September and Scott mentioned knowing about 17 of the 19 who’ve sacrificed their lives in order to be of service to others. In this episode we continue our conversation on podcasting and gender marketing styles. Please note, these are just generalizations and of course there are exceptions. We dive into the topic of vulnerability to connect to your audience—who you’re meant to serve and who are meant to learn from you. This is Part II of my conversation with Scott Mulvaney. If you haven't listened to Part I, you could listen to it here. If you happen to be in the Philadelphia area, this weekend, Sunday I’m proud to present at a workshop in partnership with PHLBloggers. (Details are below under Resources and Events Page.) Who is Scott? Scott Mulvaney has a philosophy to help others live The Fired Up Epic Life! He launched the LIVE THE FUEL Podcast in 2016 to help FUEL your health, business and lifestyle. Through years spent in sales, marketing, operations, and management he's here to help you control how you exist in the online marketplace. Scott Mulvaney acquired 20+ years of conquering professional roles in sales, marketing, coaching, training, leadership development, and the fitness space. His fitness niche has spanned 15 of those 20+ years. He is a "Scott of All Trade's" with an adrenaline junkie, athletic, yet techy passion for self-development and lifestyle transformation. Scott embodies the limitless energy necessary for success. This is fueled by his years in the health and fitness coaching space. His lifestyle freedom passions include balancing life with CrossFit, skiing, cycling, skydiving, and travel. Scott balances professional pursuits with philanthropic activities, having served as board member and investing countless volunteerism hours with multiple 501(c)(3) organizations. Scott's diverse background includes having served in public service as a Hotshot Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service as well. Quotes from Scott You have to put in the reps. Those mistakes, those failures—that's what teaches you the most... If you don't start taking action, or putting in the work, or go get that job, in a couple different roles that may potentially be how you want to run your company, you don't know and you've never made the mistakes in that position. So how are you supposed to learn from that and use that in the future to grow your own business? (4:32) The one thing I learned really fast when we got assigned our first was 'holy crap, here's reality.' They talk about it, they have you study it, they have you memorize it, but it's a whole different world until you get out into that fire line. That goes for business. You think you're prepared for everything until you turn that website on, or you turn your podcast on, or you open the front door of your new studio... if you're not willing to take action and take the risks, how are you supposed to learn? (5:25) You've gotta stop with the comparison stuff. Us guys, we compare stuff too, but we also realize, 'You know what? Forget you, I'm posting it, it's either gonna work or it's not, and if it doesn't I'm gonna learn something from that.' And trust me, there are definitely some ladies that embrace that and get it done. (24:27) What You’ll Learn Advice he got from a previous MAPCon event on how failures and mistakes are critical to learning valuable business lessons Online and offline component to learning along with a visual, auditory or kinesthetic (VAK) approaches How men's web content may appear more confident and aggress...
I had met Scott Mulvaney at the Mid-Atlantic Podcast Conference in the Philadelphia area where he spoke about embracing change. What I like about this next episode in particular is hearing not only his transition from corporate sales to public service, but hearing about his own personal transformation and who he became in the process. In my commitment to changing things up on the podcast and bringing you all in for the journey, we’re splitting this particular episode into two parts. Part I addresses Scott’s background and how he got into an elite branch of firefighting known as the Hotshots. Coincidentally enough, a movie based on the Hotshots just came out in theaters in September and Scott mentioned knowing about 17 of the 19 who’ve sacrificed their lives in order to be of service to others. Part II will discuss podcasting and the differences in gender styles when it comes to marketing. Please note, these are just generalizations and of course there are exceptions. And we dive into the topic of vulnerability in connection to marketing and being vulnerable to your audience, who you’re meant to serve and who are meant to learn from you. Actually, this weekend, Sunday in fact I’m proud to present at a workshop in partnership with PHLBloggers in Philadelphia, PA. (Details are below under Resources and Events Page.) Who is Scott? Scott's diverse background includes having served in public service as a Hotshot Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service as well. Quotes from Scott I negotiated my own dismissal from my job because I hated it...I was selling retirement plans and stuff like that for ADP and I was the second top salesperson. My boss said,'You want to leave? You're kicking ass, you've only been here a year.' I said, 'Yeah, but I hate it.' So I was like, 'My degree is about to be done and I've got this thing, so I need some time freedom.' (12:06) I was already hired, whether they liked it or not, I was there, man. Like I'm becoming one of their brothers. In the beginning of that rookie year—I'm also considered 'the old guy,' that's the best part, I'm 31 and I'm like 'really dude?' (16:40) Here's the crossover that I'm kind of hinting at. I've met some driven Millennials. And the one thing they all end up getting is that they know that they can do more. They don't have blinders on. Whereas, a lot of us in the Gen X World have blinders on. (23:48) Nowadays when I look at the Millennial generation, I love it. There's a lot of drive, there's a lot of passion. They hear and they see thanks to social media that there are people out there getting it done and finding a way to do things outside the box, launch online businesses, launch online successful shopping carts, websites, blogs, podcasts, whatever. (24:50) Have the psychology, have the drive, have the mindset, that you know that you're capable of more,

Society over the years has changed that. That, in part, is why so many communities are falling apart. Men have to get back into our groups for the sake of our families and communities. And women have to be on board with that basic human need. Most women have their lady groups. But some of them scoff at the idea of men getting together for a night out. Quite frankly, some men have given women reason to be suspicious. Myself included. We have to regain the trust of our wives and get back into our healthy and supporting groups.
