Christ Reconciles Us to God Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. - Colossians 1:21-23 It was God's Plan from the Beginning For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us. -Ephesians 1:4-8. Christ was Destined to Suffer He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely, he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. It was the Lord's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. -Isaiah 53:3-11

Have you ever wondered how to have peace with God? Or how you can live in peace with others? If your life lacks peace and you're looking for encouragement, listen in. In today's Advent episode, we take a look at what it means to be at peace with God and others. How to have peace with God Once sin entered the world, we humans were at war with God. Not that God was at war with us, but that we chose our way over His, our thoughts over His, our agenda over His. And there was no peace in the hearts of people. So, God, in His goodness, made a way for peace to be restored between us. The Lord's plan since Genesis 3:15 is to reconcile us to Himself through His Son. His Son, Jesus, came at just the right time in history. He was born to the right parents In the right town with just the right visitors: shepherds and wise men. Our Savior was placed in a cradle by His mother and sent to the cross by His Father at just the perfect time. Jesus's birth is tied to blessing. His blessing is found in His death and resurrection. And in His salvation, we find our peace. For those who know Jesus as their Savior, we are now at peace with God. 2Cor10 Casting down vain imaginations Casting down arguments, imaginations, moving on our own reasonings Strongholds begin and are made on one thought Satan will watch your patterns, then try and make his move Strongholds are protection for an army Patterns of behavior is what Satan is observing People who debate the Pastor, build strongholds in their mind Jesus temptation: Three areas satan always attack people (similar to Jesus) Matt 4 -3 attacks 1. Gods Provision Stones to loafs Attacks our Identity If you're a Christian you'd be this or that You would have this or that 2. Attack against provision which is also protection of God -Once we get our identity established and fixed the whole characterization of the battlefield changes (for you) 3. God's Service Our service describes our purpose for being on the planet in the first place Your identity then must be established Then fixed (cemented) You won't be easily moved if you get this far When it comes to service to the Lord is where most get lost The few who find it (their service to the Lord) will find their identity Mark 8: The Leaven of the Pharisees and Herod He charged them saying, “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and leaven of Herod” Thayer's Greek dictionary: -Mental and moral corruption viewed in its tendency to infect and affect others In religion, God is impersonal and powerless 1. Haggai 2:1-9 God is not angry at us, God is not punishing the world. • God is shaking the nations to gain your attention. • The shaking is going to destroy everything that is not connected with God • Once the shaking is over, God is going to bless Spiritually, Materially and going to give Peace to the Land
Where Has Your Seed Fallen? In this Entry, we discussed the different locations that the seed has fallen in the parable of Luke 8: 4-15. We talk about what it means when your seed lands on The Path, Rocky Ground, Thorns, or the Good Soil. As you listen to this Entry and read the scriptures for yourself. Ask yourself these questions below: 1.) Currently in your life, where have your seeds fallen? 2.) What type of fruit are we bearing? Good Fruit or Bad Fruit? 3.) What are some idols we are making time for, in place of God? Once you have answered all the questions, and there are things that you would like to change. Repent, and ask God for forgiveness. And make an effort to start putting God First. Scriptures: Luke 8:4-15 New International Version (NIV) While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.” When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, “‘Though seeing, they may not see; Though hearing, they may not understand.’ “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. Exodus 20:5 New International Version (NIV) You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me Ezekiel 36:25 New International Version (NIV) I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. Luke 6:43 New International Version (NIV) “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Please do not forget to Rate the Entry Below!! Thanks for listening!
