A couple of calls about my recent undead episode from Che Webster and John Large which led me to discuss my most recent creations, zombie NPCs. Then Cody M called in about the Froghemoth episode. Which now I need to generate magic items and treasure. I go over a few if items I plan to include. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/gothridgemanor/support

Things are getting a little crazy. I deal with a complaint and respond to call ins from Andy Goodman, Safer, Jason Connerley, John Large and Joe Richter.
A flurry of call ins from John Large of the Red Dice Diaries and Purple Worm Podcasts - Also a conspiracy addressed and a poor play on words for Nate Gillbreath at the end. Sound sample from the movie Angel Heart --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/sfc-saferfantasycrafting/message
RPG a Day 3 Following the "thread" miss a turn mechanisms. Jason Connerley, Eric Salzweadle and John Large on dumbing down DnD, developing GM discretion, concern regarding the thin end of the wedge toward excessive codification, leverage your henchmen, house ruling as a final solution.
A strong heart felt response to my appeal for a sensible discussion. Big thanks to Chris Shorb, Karl Rodriguez, John Large, Goblin's Henchman, Jason Connerley and Menion.
You want responses to my responses? I got responses to my responses! In S5E5 I asked John Large and Rob C. each a question, and in this episode they were gracious enough to give me their answers Thanks for being so cool, boys. Jason's got some cool stuff to say as well Check out their shows: Jason: Nerd's RPG Variety Cast podcast John Large: RDD RPG podcast Rob C.: Down In a Heap podcast Thanks so much to the three of you for discussing this stuff with me and for sharing your thoughts with all of us. You are three cool cats for sure.
This is the first of a new approach to interviews in which I aim to talk to roleplaying game activists about games that I am personally less familiar with. John Alan Large is the brain behind Red Dice Diaries, the channel where he provides tips and advice for roleplaying, broadcasts games showing that advice in action, and highlights games that offer innovative mechanisms or assistance to the GM. Although John has uploaded more than 900 videos to YouTube over the past three years, my exposure to Red Dice Diaries came through his podcast of the same name and contributions to the Purple Worm podcast. In recent weeks, John has rebooted the podcast as RDD RPG and it was the first episode - talking his wife Hannah through running a Star Trek game using FATE - that inspired me to want a deeper chat. Part 2 of this week's DM's Diary opens with a lovely call-in from John Large and then plunges into Dolmenwood. This was the week in which Friar Jaspar died and Pithwilder appropriated some magic items. From here, I pick up on my rant about stealing worlds and turn my eyes on Mystara. Pictured: William Goldman Matthew Bannister on William Goldman, the Hollywood screenwriter behind a string of hits including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All The President's Men and The Princess Bride. John Large, the respected nuclear engineer who highlighted the safety risks facing the industry. Richard Baker, the long serving BBC television newsreader who also presented classical music programmes, including the Proms, on radio. Dr. Sarah Ntiro, the first woman in East Africa to get a university degree. Patsy Rodgers who was known as the King of Tory - Ireland's most remote inhabited island. Correction: in this Last Word edition it was broadcast that Richard Baker was the first newsreader on BBC television. This is incorrect: Richard Baker in fact introduced the newsreader John Snagge, who was the first person to read a news bulletin for BBC television on 5th July 1954.
