Tyler, Konnery, and podcaster-in-residence Jacob Padilla cower in horror as Michael Bay takes the Transformers franchise for one last ride with "Transformers: The Last Knight!" They discuss the 6 different plots happening concurrently without any cohesiveness whatsoever, the Watch that Killed Hitler, basically everything Sir Anthony Hopkins does in this movie, and so much more in this mentally-trying episode of The Friendchise! What's New: Kon: Vinland Saga (Netflix) Tyler: Melancholia (Kanopy), Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe (Hoopla) Jacob: Extraction and Extraction 2 (Netflix)

Two members of British intelligence obtained the body of Glyndwr Michael, a tramp who died from eating rat poison, dressed him as an officer of the Royal Marines and placed personal items on him identifying him as the fictitious Captain (Acting Major) William Martin. Correspondence between two British generals that suggested that the Allies planned to invade Greece and Sardinia, with Sicily as merely the target of a feint, was also placed on the body. Forensic examination showed these documents had been read and Ultra decrypts of German messages showed that the Germans fell for the ruse. German reinforcements were shifted to Greece and Sardinia before and during the invasion of Sicily; Sicily received none. The full effect of Operation Mincemeat is not known, but Sicily was liberated more quickly than anticipated and losses were lower than predicted. Support the show
No new episode this week folks, but that's not to say that there isn't time to take a look back into the past.... and realize how thankful we should be that there are actually GOOD things that are currently coming out now. The boys thought it would be fun to take a look back at movies that fill the infamous podium of the 3 worst movies they've had to suffer through during the course of this podcast, and it just so happens that these 3 gems from 2019 have yet to be bested (you're off the hook for this one Morbius). So sit back, and enjoy the reviews of Hellboy (2019), The Man who Killed Hitler and then the Bigfoot, and Men in Black: International- the true Mount Rushmore of awful movies that we thought would be kind've funny to laugh at but actually just took a few years off our lives. A haze settled in front of Henry Tandy on September 29th, 1918. Out of the smoke he saw an injured & unarmed german soldier. He was ready to face death & seemed to accept it when Henry lowered his gun & let him go, never to be seen again. That man.. was Adolf Hitler. You're listening to Casual History.
