What's the best way to usher in the New Year? On this week's episode, legendary voiceover artist Bill Ratner shares a true story from his early days in Radio: When his green card bride Claudine leaves him, he's alone during the Holidays in an empty double wide and his evening shift duties at KJOI (LA's easy listening music station). So when a fan requests something a bit more intimate than the Percy Faith Orchestra, why not make her happy? And on New Year's Eve, they produce their own live show together over the air waves, using the station's 50,000 watts of power to make the world a bit less lonely. And Dixie ends the year with the story you've been asking her for. #HappyNewYear Song: ‘Love's A Stranger' (Warhaus) New Year l Radio DJ l Drive by Fucking l Anonymous Sex | Music Request Line l Radio Antenna l 1970's l Lubrication l Harlequin Romance Novel l Top of Topanga Mobile Home Park l Double Wide l Vaseline l Instrumental Radio l Muzak l Muumuu | Terrycloth Bathtub Animals l FM Transmitter l Top of the Hour l Station ID l Honda Civic l Radio Console l Blinking LEDs I Percy Faith Orchestra l Middle Age l Smog l Order Up a Man l Microphone l Los Angeles l Happy New Year l Divorce l Radio Tower l Lawrence Welk l Green Card l Quell l Radio Station l Marriage l Swiss l London l LA l Radio Announcer l Chief Engineer l Sales Manager l About our Storyteller: Bill Ratner is one of Hollywood's premier voiceover artists and a published poet, essayist, and fiction writer. Following up on his first two albums, "Edge of the Storm" and "SOUL," (which amassed four top 20 Billboard hits, millions of streams, and saw him tour with Shania Twain and Florida Georgia Line among others) Mack released his third studio album "Hummingbird" on October 20, 2023. With its unique origin, “Hummingbird” has already spawned big successes for Mack. The singles have amassed over 2 million streams, have had multiple top 5 hits on SiriusXM (including a Number 1 this year with “Lookin' For You”), as well as generating multiple placements in film and TV projects. While working on the EP, Mack also penned a series of co-writes with other artists including the top 10 hit “Fighting” from Tyler Joe Miller, the current top 30 “Breakup Song” from Lemon Cash, and the SiriusXM Number One hit “Bleed Country” from David Boyd Janes. Playing into his other strengths, this fall, Mack joins the cast of the CTV/NBC hit series Transplant, premiering its fourth and final season on October 6th. Mack plays Ryan Ashcroft, a new resident doctor at York Memorial Hospital who immediately creates problems in the ER. Season 4 of TRANSPLANT finds Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Haq) on the precipice of finishing his residency at York Memorial and officially re-qualifying as a doctor. Later in 2023, Mack is set to appear in a lead role in the heartwarming Christmas film, “Cape Holly Christmas” where art imitates life and Mack portrays a country musician named Luke, performing multiple original and classic Christmas songs, just in time for the holiday season. The film was shot in Mack's home province of Alberta earlier in 2023. Mack has shared the silver screen with a variety of stars from Liam Neeson in “Cold Pursuit,” to Kate Beckinsale in the Paramount Plus series “Guilty Party,” and recently played a lead role in the 2022 Netflix series “The Imperfects” which spent multiple weeks in the global top three shows. Other past credits include: “Power Rangers,” “DC'S Legends of Tomorrow”, “iZombie”, “Motive” “The 100”, “Supernatural”, “Continuum”, “Smallville”, “Heartland,” “The Vampire Diaries”. “Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story”, “A Dog Named Christmas”, “Girl House”, and “The Phantoms”.

Kumpi toimi paremmin?

Now everyone is reversing like the French army back from criticism of Bruce Willis, Liam Neeson better watch out. His latest in a never ending run of apparent duds has a new low of 7% on Rotten Tomatoes. As a connoisseur of post-Taken Neeson movies, most of these films haven't been bad (not you Ice Road) or felt that cheap (not you Ice Road). With a sizable budget and nearly everything done reasonably well, this VERY stock standard Neeson actioner may not reignite the great Cold Pursuit era, but it's serviceable and it's star pretty decent.
By special listener request, today we are covering the 2019 cold weather caper Cold Pursuit starring the one and only Liam Neeson. We didn't know much going into this one and let's just say it was for the best. Here at You're Wrong, the term "March Madness" has nothing to do with basketball or the NCAA. Instead, this is the month we celebrate just pure madness, which is why we're launching the much-awaited G.U.I.N.N.E.S.S.!In the first episode of this epic event, Chris, Luciano and Matt were joined by Matt's better-half Laura to tackle a classic Liam Neeson vehicle: Cold Pursuit. It's, uh... it's a movie. With, like, actors and stuff. Well, a lot of their characters die (sorry... spoiler alert, I guess). Also, some of them just kind of, like, fuck off mid-movie and never come back. It truly is a thespian masterpiece. What's that? What does G.U.I.N.N.E.S.S. mean? Well, that's too obvious – if you don't know it already, I'm not gonna be the one to explain it to you.
As we continue Dump Month January, we venture into the frigid revenge thriller Cold Pursuit staring Captain Revenge himself, Liam Neeson.
The low key and surprising dark comedy of Cold Pursuit brings us back to one of our first topics from this year. We talk about the use and quiality of CG in movies, and if the rate at which it's being implemented is affecting the quality. We then dive deep into brand loyalty and why it's bad for you. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/t3g-media/support

Alien: Isolation's deviously clever xenomorph has been getting a lot of (mixed) praise lately, but it's hardly the first randomized creeper to have chased us through a game. This week, we celebrate five of our favorite relentless, indestructible pursuers, then switch gears to talk about Isolation and Shadow of Mordor before moving on to the fictional universes you'd love to see through the eyes of a new or minor character.
