And now their state is getting involved for whatever reason. It's two times the Dan's for two times the fun. Two Dan hats in the Sullivan ring. Also, we talk about Rainbow/Red White Blue Capitalism, pickle snacks, running for office at random for the lols, 1776-2026 merch, sticky cheese, seriously so much America 250.Note: the ad was created, unknownst to the Creeps at time of recording. Today, June 9th, is officially the last regular day of school at Woodland Regional and reminded us to get our library books in—especially the sophomores, who are currently in last place—and for seniors to finish paying for their caps and gowns so they can actually walk across the stage. The highlight of the day is definitely Pizza Day, featuring hometown pizzas and a special long advisory where some classes are even feasting on Chick-fil-A. All our classes were shortened by three minutes to make room for the celebration. While exams for B4 and B3 start tomorrow, today's focus is on the state semi-finals. The baseball team plays St. Paul at 3:30 PM, following the softball team's big 4-1 victory yesterday that sent them to the state championship this weekend.Even with the news reporting on 5,300-year-old mummies and pirate ships, my mind is on that 1:50 bell. With senior sunset this Sunday and graduation next Monday at 6:00 PM, the school year is finally coming to a close.
Through the Irish folktale "Teig O'Kane and the Corpse," we reflect on the weight of moral obligation, the consequences of our choices, and the enduring truth that responsibility cannot be avoided.
This week, we tried pastries from Little Paris Café, located at 456 High Street, so towards the top end of that area, in Morgantown, WV. They're open daily 8 am-7 pm, and until 7:30 pm on Fridays. I promise we will do them again properly with full food and drink, once we have a chance to get over there. The Creeps are dying to so they can at least get another croissant. Here's what we tried:banana nut muffin, chocolate croissantThen, Kelsey continues her multi-part story on the Texan serial killer Dean Corll, also known as The Candy Man. Descriptions detailed of the case are graphic. Discretion advised. They also talk about more nuts, Pedro, spilt beverage, back catalogue of coffee testing, the giant phone books of pre-911 era, and $1,700 dollars.
Two listeners. Two encounters with the dead that refused to stay buried. And one terrifying thread connecting them both.Harrison doesn't scare easily, six years of night shifts, no startle reflex. So why did standing at the mouth of a 5,000-year-old burial mound leave him certain that something deep in the dark had turned to face him… and was waiting to see what he'd do?Then Miriam takes us inside Harvard's Peabody Museum at 2am. A man pulled from the earth outside Ur a century ago. Catalogued. Displayed. Waiting. And one night, something stepped to her shoulder and made it clear it had known her all along. No bangs. No shadows. Just the unbearable sense of being assessed by something with all the time in the world.Producer Dom unpacks the dark folklore beneath it all: the Norse mound-dweller fed by a thousand years of fear, the Mesopotamian eṭemmu taking inventory of the living, and the chilling idea that for the trapped dead, time doesn't pass… it compresses. What happens when something that's waited a hundred years finally decides you're worth knowing?A Create Podcast Hosted on Acast. Across Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Brittany and beyond, people have long told stories of ghostly hearses, black coaches and funeral processions seen before a death has happened. Sometimes the sound of wheels is heard on an empty road, sometimes mourners pass silently along an old church path, and sometimes a hearse appears in a mirror before vanishing without trace. From the bodies rotting by the wayside in Famine fiction, Synge's sodden corpses and Joyce's dead, to Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill's talking corpses and the unburied and dissected remains of Celtic Tiger fiction, the figure of the corpse is ubiquitous in Irish writing. This collection examines the Irish corpse as a conceptually rich centrepoint with multiple differently signifying implications across this historical period as expressed in different social, political and creative contexts. Taking Irish literature's obsession with death as its starting point, The Corpse in Modern Irish Literature (Liverpool UP, 2026) demonstrates the wide-ranging implications of this fixation, extending it through the contexts of the tragedies of the Irish past and the emergence of new identities in the wake of colonial modernity. In their range of authors and genres from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century, the chapters bring into focus patterns of change and continuity and extend current understanding of the Gothic mode, the national tale, the Irish modernist novel, Irish-language poetry, the elegiac mode, comic and tragic revivalist writings and the generic complexity of autofiction and contemporary fiction. In so doing, The Corpse in Modern Irish Literature makes a significant intervention in Irish studies, Gothic studies, death studies and medical and health humanities. In the cremation grounds outside ancient Indian cities, where funeral pyres burned and the boundary between life and death grew thin, something waited in the darkness. The Vetala weren't mindless undead stumbling through graveyards—they were intelligent spirits that possessed corpses, animating dead flesh with terrible purpose. #Vetala #HinduFolklore #FreakyFolklore #IndianMythology #BuddhistFolklore #SanskritLegends #CremationGrounds #UndeadSpirits #IndianGhosts #CorpsePossession #Folklore #VetalaLegend #BaitalPachisi #HinduMyths #AncientIndia #SpiritPossession #Cremation #SanskritStories #IndianLegends #FolklorePodcast #HorrorFolklore #DarkFolklore #SupernaturalIndia #TantricLore #HinduDemons #CreepyLegends

His journey turned into a mystery, marked by sightings of a semi-truck driving erratically and Devin's last known moments of confusion. Despite an abandoned truck with undisturbed cargo and the eerie discovery of his skull two years later, the question remains: What happened to Devin Williams in those remote woods? (The Bizarre Disappearance of Truck Driver Devin Williams) *** What do astronomers say about those who deny the moon landing really took place? The conspiracy theory gets an assist from, believe it or not, the New York Mets! (The Faked Moon Landing And The New York Mets) *** New England has a lot of great places to visit, and travel times to these locations are minimal. One of the most infamous would be Rhode Island – home to story of vampire Mercy Brown. (Vampires of Rhode Island) *** Until the Humpty Doo poltergeist outbreak of 1998, Australia's most notorious poltergeist was a very persistent, wall-bashing, stone-throwing entity known as the “Guyra Ghost” which terrorized William Bowen, his wife and three children in their tiny weatherboard cottage just outside Guyra, New South Wales in early 1921. (The Guyra Ghost) *** In 1814, London experienced one of the most bizarre disasters in British history. An unfortunate chain of events at the Horseshoe Brewery led to the death of 8 women and children as they were caught up in London's Great Beer Flood. But, what really happened? And, did Londoners really get drunk, as beer flowed past their homes in the streets, free for the taking? (The Great London Beer Flood) *** Ghost marriages in China have led to a very unsavory and deeply disturbing trade. They are called ghost marriages, because the groom is given a dead woman to marry… often forced to do so. And the stories are, understandably, horrifying. (Forced to Marry a Corpse) *** In September 1982, people wanting to get away from aches and pains from the flu or just a headache shopped store shelves for relief… and ended up dead. Their Tylenol had been laced with poison.
