Min 4: THE LAST OF US 2: ¿Final rompedor o interruptus forzado?

[Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Thunderbolts*.]One of the very best parts of having a returning guest on Collider Ladies Night? Realizing how much they've accomplished during such a short period of time. Geraldine Viswanathan made her first Ladies Night appearance in 2020 for The Broken Hearts Gallery and since has completed a four-season run on Miracle Workers, starred opposite Zach Galifianakis, Elizabeth Banks and Sarah Snook in The Beanie Bubble, headlined Drive-Away Dolls with Margaret Qualley, made Oh, Hi! with Molly Gordon which secured distribution out of Sundance 2025, and now she's part of one of the biggest film franchises of all time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Viswanathan makes her first MCU appearance as Mel in Thunderbolts*. She's Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) extremely attentive and diligent assistant. Initially, she seems quite loyal too, but when Bucky (Sebastian Stan) suggests Mel secretly slip him information on Val in hopes of having her impeached, eventually, Mel concedes. While that choice may suggest Mel's willingness to double-cross her boss, ultimately, she changes course again, pushing the button that saves Val's life from the Sentry (Lewis Pullman). So where does Mel stand? Does she skew more villain than hero? Does she still admire Valentina? That's exactly what I dug into with Viswanathan during her second Collider Ladies Night interview. Hosted on Acast. In this episode of The Rewatch Party, Nick, Anthony, and Dan dive into Love & Mercy, the 2014 biopic about Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson. Unlike traditional musician biopics, this film takes a unique approach, following Wilson during two pivotal periods of his life—played by Paul Dano in the 1960s and John Cusack in the 1980s. The hosts discuss how this split timeline storytelling affects the film's emotional impact and whether it enhances or distracts from the narrative. Anthony, a fan of music history, praises the film's deep dive into Wilson's genius and struggles, while Nick and Dan debate whether the dual performances truly capture the essence of the troubled artist. The conversation naturally shifts to the film's depiction of the creative process behind Pet Sounds, one of the most influential albums of all time. The hosts analyze how Love & Mercy showcases Wilson's innovative techniques and obsessive perfectionism in the studio, bringing to life the making of iconic songs. Nick argues that these scenes are the heart of the film, immersing viewers in Wilson's artistic brilliance, while Dan points out how the tension with bandmates and his domineering father adds layers to the story. Anthony highlights the film's ability to make the audience feel both the joy of creation and the weight of Wilson's mental health struggles. Of course, the discussion wouldn't be complete without addressing Paul Giamatti's chilling performance as Dr. Eugene Landy, the manipulative therapist who controlled Wilson's life in the 1980s. The hosts dissect the disturbing power dynamics between Landy and Wilson, with Elise noting that John Cusack's subdued performance contrasts well against Giamatti's overwhelming presence. They also explore Elizabeth Banks' role as Melinda Ledbetter, Wilson's eventual savior, and whether her character's arc is given enough depth. By the end of the episode, the trio reflects on Love & Mercy's rewatchability. While its emotional weight and unconventional structure might not make it an easy, casual rewatch, its powerful performances, immersive storytelling, and reverence for Brian Wilson's artistry make it a compelling experience. Whether you're a die-hard Beach Boys fan or just appreciate a well-crafted biopic, this discussion will leave you with a greater appreciation for the man behind the music. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903657/
What a great way to open the new season! This movie combines elements of small-town zaniness, Martian invasion, married romance, and homicidal zombies in a melting pot of a movie starring Brenda James, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker and Elizabeth Banks. If I could describe Brenda with one word, it would be FUN! I loved how she went into detail describing her character and what it was like to be on set with Michael Rooker and Nathan Fillion. She broke it down for me: from the special effects to the raw meat that she had to smell and handle while performing exceptionally well. I would not be able to think of a better person to portray Brenda – she auditioned, and she delivered! This is a huge honor for me because I am a fan of the movie and I am a fan of her work – I truly hope that I get to see her in more movies in the future. I had an absolute blast talking to Brenda and getting the inside scoop about her character, the special effects, the set, the makeup, the director, and other actors. She is currently involved with a movie called “Dorothea” which is still in post-production. Make sure to keep an eye on the release date!

In this episode of BizNinja Entrepreneur Radio, Tyler Jorgenson sits down with Marian Leitner-Waldman, co-founder of Archer Roose Wines. Marian shares her unconventional journey from working in finance to building a successful wine company that aims to disrupt the traditional wine industry. Archer Roose was born from her desire to create high-quality wine in an approachable, sustainable format like cans, a concept inspired by her love for storytelling and connection. Marian's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to sustainability are evident as she discusses the challenges of innovating in an industry that is traditionally resistant to change, especially for women.Marian delves into the early struggles Archer Roose faced, from gaining trust among winemakers to finding product-market fit. The company took four years to launch its first product and spent significant time understanding consumer preferences. By focusing on transparency and a fun, non-intimidating brand, Archer Roose was able to introduce canned wine as a viable alternative to bottles, particularly targeting consumers who desire moderation and control over their consumption. The conversation highlights Marian's vision of making wine accessible and enjoyable for everyone, while also addressing larger environmental concerns.Toward the end, Marian shares her exciting journey of partnering with actress and businesswoman Elizabeth Banks, who became a co-owner of Archer Roose. Marian emphasizes the importance of maintaining product quality, investing in research, and ensuring that the wine inside the can is as good as the brand's marketing. Archer Roose is now expanding its presence in major retailers like Target and Sprouts, as well as being served at Regal Cinemas and Vail Resorts, continuing to push the boundaries of the wine industry. For more about Archer Roose Wines, visit ArcherRoose.com and explore their collection of sustainable wines that are both environmentally conscious and perfect for the modern lifestyle.

It's an epic episode of Breakfast All Day! And we're playing with the format a bit, offering our Movie News LIVE! segment after the reviews rather than beforehand. (It starts around the 31-minute mark, in case that's your favorite thing.) But first, the biggie of the week is "Alien: Romulus," the seventh film in the franchise and the best one since James Cameron's "Aliens." We'll have a separate spoiler review soon, because this movie is gnarly, and we saw stuff we can't unsee. In theaters. Next, we discuss "Skincare," a thriller/satire/dark comedy set in the world of high-end Los Angeles facial spas. We enjoyed Elizabeth Banks' performance, but this movie is kind of all over the place. In theaters. Then, we catch up with "Kneecap," because we had such a demand for it from our viewers. The members of the Irish hip-hop trio play themselves in this kinda-sorta music biopic. It's a blast. Michael Fassbender co-stars. In theaters. Finally, we had a longer-than-usual livestream because there was so much to talk about: Gena Rowlands, Matthew Perry, "It Ends With Us," Tom Cruise, Joaquin Phoenix and more. It's always a pleasure to see our folks out there! And for our Patreon subscribers, we recap episodes 5 and 6 of "Time Bandits" on Apple TV+.
