After over seven months since it was originally recorded, we finally bring you our episode in which we discuss the canon-busting story that The Brain of Morbius! Recorded before our brother Don passed away, we truly believe that this is one of our best episodes to date, featuring some absolutely spectacular conversation, and really does mark a special way for us to come back from a long hiatus. Join us as we talk about our dislikes of the Time Lords, while Don espouses his appreciation for brains in jars, Reilly expresses his affection for Condo (even advocating for a Big Finish Condo spin-off!), Anthony appreciates how theatrical this story is, and Julie develops a true love of the Sisterhood of Karn. Of course, no discussion of this story would be complete without talking about the implications of the Doctor/Morbius mind-battle... Happiness by Shuzo Oshimi is a rare foray into vampire fiction for us (notwithstanding all the Blade, Morbius, etc. comics we've consumed). Back in episode 113, we covered the the first seven volumes of Blood on the Tracks, the Oshimi series that's still currently ongoing. Reading that series garnered enough appreciation for Oshimi's work that we decided to go back and read one of this earlier, completed series. Happiness is a vampire story, yes, but it's also a dark, psychological thriller. While it's definitely not for the squeamish, Happiness gives us a compelling plot about a teenage boy who becomes a vampire, and his coming of age story. At least... that's how it starts. The story evolves into much more. Join us as we cover all ten volumes of this manga series! Albert provides recaps for each volume as we systematically discuss each book so you can follow along with us. Thanks again to Corey J. Beats for producing our theme music. In this mythic episode of Sorry, We Tried, we're continuing with our lunacy-inducing DCEU revisit. This time, it's a double-feature, as we watched both Suicide Squad (2016) and Wonder Woman! There is a LOT to cover, as Suicide Squad had a cursed production that looked very similar to what happened to Zack Snyder with his Justice League movie. The gritty military/crime flick faced everything from rushed rewrites, baffling edits, and... Jared Leto's insane method acting? Basically, nothing went right with this one. On the other hand, Wonder Woman was pretty solid. So at least the experience wasn't all bad! Also in this episode, Harrison keeps sneakily pressing the record button. Robby drops a hot take about the #releasetheayercut campaign. Spencer finds an excuse to talk about Morbius again. And the guys lose it after hearing about Jared Leto's pig-throwing henchman. Our Leto series takes us to the infamous 2022 film Morbius. Like Leto's career, Morbius is a highly synthetic product, a strange blend of ideas and images from earlier movies in the superhero genre. We cover the memes mocking the absurdity of the film's existence and discuss how Jared Leto in a superhero-vampire role takes us to the exact occult transhumanist themes one would expect.https://twitter.com/CinemaPsyophttps://www.patreon.com/PsyopCinemahttp://psyop-cinema.com/https://email@example.com@protonmail.com

Coming into this film, we knew it was going to be a challenge to try and top the original, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. But hot damn, they achieved. Incredible art, an engaging storyline, cameos and references and fan service, oh my! It's like watching the live-action world blend with the comic world in a majestic symphony. Well done, Sony (but don't get comfortable, we still know what you did to Morbius...).
***THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE*** Across the Spider-Verse has taken the world by storm! Of course, Sydney and I had to take the time to discuss the latest installment in the Spider-Man franchise and how this movie continues to defy the odds! Leading up to our appearance at Comicpalooza, we finally gave in to the hype and reviewed one of the most notorious and meme-worthy comic book movies of all time: 2022's Morbius! Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) has a blood disease that makes his blood not good and he has to walk with crutches. He travels to Costa Rica's Cerro de la Muerte to capture a tube full of vampire bats in the hopes he can study them and reverse his bad blood disease. The cure works, but as a result he turns into a cool vampire. His childhood friend Milo (Matt Smith) finds out he's a cool vampire and wants to be a cool vampire too and he steals the vampire goo and turns into a cool bad vampire. They have a vampire fight and one of them wins (guess which one). Michael Keaton shows up at the end for some reason. Comicpalooza Update: We're on the schedule! Your Stupid Minds will be at the Main Podcast Stage on the Exhibit Floor on Friday, May 26 at 4:30! Come by and watch us talk about Catwoman LIVE! You might also get a special Catwoman prize.
Scheduling continues to be A Lot, so this week we're dusting off one of our favorite Patreon specials from last year: Unwilling to risk covid for anything involving Jared Leto, this month we're going back to the 90s for an earlier version of Spider-Man's foe Morbius! As Spider-Man tries to find a cure for his advancing mutation, he crosses paths with Michael Morbius, who is studying vampire bats in a search for a cure of his own. But when some extremely poor lab hygiene gives Michael an insatiable thirst for "plasma", it's up to Spider-Man to stop him! How much actual vampire stuff did they have to change for Fox Kids? And is this at least better than spending money to watch Jared Leto? Join us this month for Spider-Man's "Neogenic Nightmare Chapter VI: Morbius", and as always, thank you so much for your support!

Sony and Marvel's Morbius is a nearly perfect portrayal of Michael Morbius, the living vampire, and villain in the Spider-Man comic. Jared Leto does a great job playing the character as we see him in the comics and cartoons. The issue is this film is a clear tee-off of the Sinister Six. But after seeing this film, Rob And Alex don't think anyone would want to be part of the villainous team desiring to take on the web-crawler. But they have some alternate endings that could change that. Notes: Who is Morbius in the comics? Who are the Sinister Six? Ten Facts about the Morbius Movie IMDB Morbius Trivia You know how you're watching a movie with friends and then everyone, especially the cool friends, talk about the movie after it's over?
