http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Start your engines! It's time to race off to Disney's Hollywood Studios to check out Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy. Recorded on August 16, 2019. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we venture to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to watch Lightening McQueen’s Racing Academy. The Guidemap describes this attraction by saying: Get pumped for a high-octane experience where you’ll learn what it takes to be a champion from the legendary racer, Lightning McQueen. Since this is a show, there are no age or height requirements for this attraction. Before we hear how Lightning McQueen stays in shape, here are five fast facts about Lighting McQueen’s Racing Academy. 1. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy was announced on the Disney Parks Blog on June 29, 2018 and had its debut performance less than a year later on March 31, 2019. 2. Prior to hosting Lightning McQueen, the building this attraction is in housed Club Disney an interactive dance party for families which debuted on December 5, 2015. 3. The giant wrap-around screen used in the show is 200 feet long and two stories high! 4. This attraction is, obviously, based on the Disney/Pixar Cars franchise, but an interesting bit of trivia is that elements from each of the three Cars films are featured in the show. 5. The Lightning McQueen animatronic featured in the show is very similar to the ones in Disney California Adventures Radiator Springs Racers. However this animatronic actually has the ability to completely turn around and face the simulator he’s using. Let’s start our engines and check out Lighting McQueen’s Racing Academy. After the show I’ll give you my thoughts on this attraction and this is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we race off to Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This week in Disney News, Disney released their cryptic list of movies for the next 8 years. Good news is there will be a lot more Marvel. Disney will own your Christmas season with Star Wars and Avatar. Also, the space-themed restaurant is slated to open this year. Boy-Howdy did we miss a lot talking about our last Disney trip, so this week we review the things we missed in our recap episode. We begin with the Instagram walls that have grown a cult following over the past several years. Let me tell you, Disney has walls everywhere (all buildings have at least one :) ). We discuss the wall that started it all, the Purple Wall and move on to the many other walls that have been given a life of their own after PW's Insta success. I'm not quite sure how we managed to forget our review of the Behind the Seeds Tour at Living With the Land. We had such a great time on this short tour of the Living With the Land facility learning how they keep pests at bay and how they farm mostly everything hydroponically! If you get a chance to go on this fabulous tour, go! Also, while down in Disney, we spent way too much money on Minnie Vans (hey, we had to research for ya'll, right?). It was so nice to go directly to where we wanted in a short time with our knowledgeable and friendly drivers. If you're in a pinch, they're a good way to get around. We also went to the Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy, which just opened March 31st. This kid-centric show was a good way to get out of the heat and check out Disney's cool Lightning McQueen animatronic. The show though...not entirely thrilling. Finally, we couldn't forget to mention our delicious dinner at Beaches & Cream. If you're gluten free and tired of eating sand-tasting bread, go here. They bake it fresh daily and the chicken sandwich was sooo tasty! And the desert...duh. If you've never been...seriously, go. Thank you so much for the support over this first year of our podcast! We really appreciate you listeners. Don't forget to leave us a review. They help with getting new listeners. Also, check out our facebook and Instagram pages. Have a magical week! In Episode 64 of the Pixar Post Podcast, we chat with Kelly Bonbright (Script Supervisor on Incredibles 2), dive into Toy Story 4 news and of course start the episode with Pixar trivia. The episode kicks off with T.J. putting Julie to the test with some Presto-inspired trivia — the theme of Presto was chosen since the Funko of the lead rabbit, Alec Azam came out a few weeks back. Additionally, we talk briefly about the opening of Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy and the latest Toy Story 4 news (Tony Hale playing Forky, Don Rickles voicing Mr. Potato Head, the Toy Story 4 US / International trailer and more). KELLY BONBRIGHT INTERVIEW In our interview with Kelly Bonbright you'll learn all about her journey to Pixar — how she started in Consumer Products and eventually moved into the Script Supervisor role. You'll learn how the film is broken down into more manageable segments, funny sequence titles, and even some fun-facts. One of those fun facts was that Incredibles 2 had 59 total story sequences in the final film, but there were 121 omitted story sequences — that's a lot of awesome content and ideas that we still haven't seen! Listen to the entire episode below for even more great facts and learn what Kelly believes are the top skills you need to be a Script Supervisor.

All of the news for the week of November 30, 2018. Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom has been my favorite extra event for awhile now, so the options to be able to do a similar thing at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios starting next week seem super exciting to me. (In fact, people with short trips who want to do as much as possible might even consider skipping regular park tickets and instead choose to attend After Hours to pack in as much as possible.) Here's our overviews of the After Hours event for each of the parks that offer it: Animal Kingdom After Hours Hollywood Studios After Hours Magic Kingdom After Hours Reservations are now open for Gran Destino, the new tower at Coronado Springs that will open up in July 9, 2019. Rooms start at $261/night. We learned this week about the 2 new restaurants that will be at Gran Destino. Three Bridges Bar and Grill will be located on an island on the Lago Dorado lake at Gran Destino. And then a rooftop Table Service restaurant called Toledo will offer great views of Disney World. Reservations for dining aren't available yet, but we'll keep you posted when they are. Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy opens in spring at Hollywood Studios. You can preview it now in the DisneyNOW app (go to the 19 minute mark to see the preview), or watch the Disney Channel on December 1 at 8 p.m. eastern to see it there. Due to work on the upcoming Tron coaster, the Magic Kingdom railroad is expected to be closed December 3, 2018 - January 5, 2019. And due to Disney Skyliner work, the Friendship boats are not taking guests to the International Gateway at Epcot through early December. Guests can still take the boats to Epcot-area resorts and Hollywood Studios, and they can choose to walk to the International Gateway.
