Do you ever feel like time should stand still, especially when it comes to the magic of Walt Disney World? This week, Britt and I whirled through the theme park's most treasured attractions, from the swashbuckling adventures on Pirates of the Caribbean to the cosmic zoom of Space Mountain. We mused over the moments that make these rides timeless, and even got into a friendly dispute about the ideal temperature for experiencing Florida's enchanting world of fantasy. Our conversation didn't stop at the borders of Walt Disney World. We ventured into the realms of Disneyland and California Adventure, where our hearts beat for the classic thrills like the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the cherished Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. These are the attractions that, in our eyes, should never change a pixel in their storytelling tapestry, as their charm and nostalgia are what keep us coming back for more. We even cast a loving gaze at the unsung heroes like "Living with the Land," sharing our conviction that these experiences are just as vital to the park's spirit. Finally, we peeked into the crystalline future with the upcoming Journey of Water inspired by Moana and defended the wild integrity of Disney's Animal Kingdom. From the majestic peaks of Expedition Everest to the soaring flights on Avatar's banshees, we agreed these attractions should remain untouched, preserving the enchantment that Disney's mastery has painted for us all. So hop aboard and join us as we celebrate the stories, the laughter, and the memories engraved within these Disney park masterpieces. Please check out our links below:Our Sponsor:www.mainstreettravelco.comEmail Us:circleofparks@gmail.comOur Website:www.circleofparks.comFacebook:www.facebook.com/circleofparksInstgram:www.instagram.com/circleofparksX:www.x.com/circleofparksSupport the show

More reality TV? AI-generated “South Park” episodes? Is this where Hollywood is heading thanks to the latest writer and actor strike? We find out from UCF experts how, and why, the strike will be resolved and how AI will play into plans moving forward. This is part one of a two-part episode.   On July 14, 2023, members of the Hollywood actors' union, SAG-AFTRA, stood with screenwriters, forming a picket line outside Amazon Studios in Los Angeles, California. This marked the commencement of an actors' strike. SAG-AFTRA joined forces with the Writers Guild of America workers, who had been engaged in a determined strike against the Hollywood studios for three months. This joint walkout, a rare occurrence not witnessed since 1960, underscores the magnitude of the situation. The collaboration between SAG-AFTRA and WGA intensifies the impact of the strike, with the potential to bring Hollywood productions to a complete standstill.   Featured Guests David Luna, Ph.D. - UCF College of Business Robin Cowie - Phygital Experience Creator & Feature Filmmaker Cassandra "Cassi" Willard, J.D. - Instructor, Department of Management, UCF College of Business & Program Director, Blackstone LaunchPad at UCF Ray Eddy, Ph.D - Lecturer, Integrated Business, UCF College of Business   Episode Transcription SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher in a press conference July 13, 2023: The entire business model has been changed by streaming, digital, AI. This is a moment of history that is a moment of truth. If we don't stand tall right now, we are all going to be in trouble. We are all going to be in jeopardy of being replaced by machines. You cannot change the business model as much as it has changed and not expect the contract to change too. We are labor and we stand tall and we demand respect. Paul Jarley: Oh my, this is going to get really complicated. In the meantime, prepare for a new round of reality TV. This show is all about separating hype from fundamental change. I'm Paul Jarley, Dean of the College of Business here at UCF. I've got lots of questions, to get answers, I'm talking to people with interesting insights into the future of business. Have you ever wondered, is this really a thing? On to our show. The writers and actors haven't been out on strike together since 1960. Then, it was partly about how television was impacting the film industry and getting residual income for writers and actors from movies that were then being shown on TV. The business model was changing and labor wanted its share. Screen Actors Guild President Fran Drescher's comments at the start of this podcast note that technology is changing the business model again with streaming services, digital media and AI among the main drivers. This is a very complicated situation, so complicated, that we couldn't fit it into our usual 25-to-30 minute podcast. So we decided to split it into two parts. Today we will tackle the basics of the strike and how and when we see it being resolved. The second part, we'll do a much deeper dive into AI and Hollywood and how that is likely to change the industry going forward, especially for writers and actors. Essentially, we want to answer the question, will anybody be left in Hollywood in 10 years?   As always, to shed light on these topics, I've assembled a group of UCF experts. Cassandra Willard is an instructor and Program Director at our Blackstone Launchpad and a practicing attorney with extensive experience in entertainment law. Ray Eddy is a lecturer in our Integrated Business program with an interest in understanding consumer experiences. Ray is not just an academic, he has worked as a stuntman, started his own production company and written, directed and starred in several performances. If you've been to Walt Disney World in the last several years, you may have seen Ray playing Indiana Jones, in Indiana Jones: Epic Stunt Spectacular. David Luna is a professor in our Marketing department.

Hello and welcome to the Enchanted Ears Podcast, where we discuss anything and everything Disney. A few additional things came out of the Star Wars Celebration that give us the feels. A Gaya album will be dropping on May 4th. On the not-so-great news front, The Bad Batch will get a third and final season next year. We did Animal Kingdom and had so much fun, we decided to play Keep, Update, Replace: Hollywood Studios. We assess some of the most popular and, let's face it, unpopular rides in the park. And we even got your opinion on the matter using a poll on our Instagram @enchantedearspodcast. What should be done with Muppet Vision 3D, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run, and the Frozen Sing Along Celebration? We think some pretty big changes need to occur to revive the tributes to movie magic while also teaching the next generation what amazing possibilities exist with a little spark…of inspiration. Some other big changes, in the form of locking restraints, might be needed if Frozen gets Angela's suggested update to keep Joe from charging the stage to meet a Disney (and cultural) icon. Now we know the replacement is through the My Disney Experience App, and using Magic Mobile. MagicMobile was introduced in 2021 as a new feature allowing guests to use most smartphones and watches to replicate features of the MagicBand. It has now been expanded to show digital membership verification. MagicMobile is configured using the My Disney Experience app on supported smartphones. Tap on the "hamburger" button on the bottom right (three horizontal lines) and select "Disney MagicMobile." Tap "Set Up Your Pass" and use the "Change Pass Style" button to select one of the available card designs. (You do NOT need to select the DVC design for it to register you as a DVC member.) After selecting a design, tap on the "Add to Wallet" button to create the digital pass within the smartphone's Apple or Android wallet. This electronic card will show any affiliation including Annual Passes and DVC. If your need is not urgent, we recommend that you try again at a later time. If you wish to remain in the queue, please do not refresh this page or close your browser and you'll be redirected shortly. Thank you for your patience. These price increases come as Disney Vacation Club prepares to relaunch sales of the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. 200 additional Resort Studio rooms are scheduled to be added in the summer of 2022. Points charts were recently revealed for both 2022 and 2023. Sales are expected to begin sometime in the first quarter of 2022. More than 3,600 Dream Keys were sold. In total, the lawsuit includes six causes of action, including violations of the consumers' legal remedies act, violations of the false advertising law, violations of the unfair competition law, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and concealment/non-disclosure. This is Season 2, Episode 44 for November 1, 2021, and our feature topic is our Top 3 Disney Breakfasts! Have a listen, and let us know in the comments what you think! Now, here's the rundown of what we talked about: Updates from last week:Boo Bash Feedback from the GroupWe asked in the group if people had gone to the Boo Bash and if so, what were your thoughts about it. Here is the feedback we received:Cindy wrote in with this feedback: “My family of 4 attended in late August. My husband and teen boys have done an after hours event but not a MNSSHP. I have. So they had no preconceived notions about what a Halloween event at Disney should be like. They are not really into parades and whatnot, so we basically went for the low wait times. If that is what you are after, then Boo Bash is worth every penny. We basically walked on everything. I think our longest wait was 15 minutes and that was for Mine Train. BUT if you love all of the parades and fireworks and stage shows that normally come with MNSSHP and you don't really care about rides, then you will probably be disappointed.”Cheddar from the Big CheeseBrenda: The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is scheduled for January 14 - February 21, 2022! The success of The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is due to so many things--among them polished performers, amazing technical effects, and a tie to a great film, Raiders of the Lost Ark. That film has its own story around trust, but the show at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World wouldn't have come together if it wasn't for Jerry Rees, who took a stunt show and made it into something both epic and spectacular. We look at how that came to be, and in Disney's trust in Jerry's ability to make movie magic come to life. But the story doesn't end there, as this is a show that involves real stunt performers doing things that are actually dangerous--even fatal. We look at that reality, and it's own repercussions. It's a story that suggests how important trust is to creating success not just in a world of make believe, but in the real world itself. You can find images, links, souvenirs and other notes in our post on Disney at Work.

Mr. Kevin Benton  basketball player and actor was introduced to Jesus in the morning radio talk show many years ago. Kevin is a humble Godly man.  Kevin D. Benton is a 2018 SPIRAL Film & Music Award-Winning, American "Best Film" and T.V. Actor who was born in Philadelphia, Pa. He is the middle of three children of Patricia and David Benton Sr. also from Philadelphia, Pa . Kevin caught the acting bug early while appearing in student stage plays in grade school, in which he really enjoyed. As an adult, Kevin got his passion for acting renewed while spending some time with his family in Florida during the summers. During this time, Kevin made his way down to Orlando, Florida where he was frequently cast as a featured extra (Jack's Dying Scene) and as an extra in the Cairo Street Scene in the "Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular." Kevin was regularly cast as an Evil Lab Worker in short film, "Disaster! A Major Motion Picture Ride ... Starring You," at Universal Hollywood Studios. Kevin was also cast in a featured role as the Sea Captain in "The Backlot Tour" (Nautica Battle Scene) at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Kevin played his first notable role as the Casino Security Guard in the Multi-Short Film Festival Winner, "Misfits" (2015). Kevin's first paid acting role was when he was cast as a ring side Fight Fan in the MGM featured film, "CREED" (2015), starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. "CREED" was produced by Sylvester Stallone and written and directed by Ryan Croogler, who also wrote and directed "Fruitvale Station." The film was regarded as a "Rocky" spin-off movie where Rocky Balboa, played by Sylvester Stallone, is now training and mentoring his late friend Apollo Creed's son, Adonis Creed, played by franchise newcomer, Michael B. Jordan.

Come and join us for another installment of the WDW-Memories podcast, where I try to make it possible for you relive your Walt Disney World Memories when you can't actually be there. So about two weeks ago I went with some of our friends to Kings Island, an amusement park outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. Now I grew up going to the sister park, Kings Dominion in Virginia, so I was looking forward to comparing this park to that. Instead, Traci and I would find ourselves comparing it to Walt Disney World. Attractions were just simply attractions, without the build up or theming that you find a Disney park. Themed buildings were just very simply done, where stores and sponsors logos dominated the building taking away from any aesthetic. And shows, well let’s just say they looked like the people in them almost didn’t care. That can definitely not be said about today’s memory. In this show, if you are checked out or don’t care, someone could be seriously hurt or worse. I’m of course talking about the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is a marvel of timing and precision. The music accompaniment is of course steller. And the lighting and effects easily transport you to a place where you swear you’re watching the movie unfold right before your eyes. Welcome to the WDW Radio Show - your Walt Disney World Information Station. This is Show #54 for the week of February 17, 2008. In this week’s Walt Disney World News, I’ll look at a dining change in World Showcase, updates on the Backlot Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, new special events coming to Pleasure Island, and a very special event that is the first of its kind at Walt Disney World that will offer a truly unique experience in many ways. For the next in my Legends of Disney Imagineering interview series, I thought that with the recent name change of the Disney-MGM Studios to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and new direction it is taking in its entertainment offerings, I wanted to have someone come on the show who could speak authoritatively as to the genesis and growth of the park. So I decided that who better to come on the show and talk about this than the man who literally put pen to paper and designed the original concept drawing for the Disney-MGM Studios. He is former Walt Disney Imagineering designer; artist; show creator and so much more, Tim Kirk. He will join me to discuss the history of the Studios, his work on helping form not only the original concept for the park, but his work on some of its premier attractions such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, The Great Movie Ride, MuppetVision 3D, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and countless others. It is a unique, first-hand look at the creation of the theme park and its signature attractions. I’ll also have time to answer some more of your emails this week, so sit back, relax and enjoy this week’s episode of the WDW Radio Show. You can email the show at lou@wdwradio.com or call the voicemail at 206-202-4WDW (4939). Visit the web site at wdwradio.com.
