Broadway superstar Kearran Giovanni ("Catch Me if You Can," "Tarzan," TV's "Major Crimes") joins pal David to share her love of Disney and the Theme Parks! From loving the films as a kid (specifially "The Little Mermaid") to starring as Belle in her own roller-skating version of "Beauty and the Beast," Kearran's passion for the mouse runs deep. Listen as she recalls her first visits to both Walt Disney World (not until college) and Disneyland (not until she moved to LA), and how once she finally arrived at the Parks she "found her people." In fact, when she moved to LA ten years ago with her family, her plan was simple: move, settle into the new house, and then go to Disneyland. (We support.) Bringing her kids to Disney has been a treat, and Kearran shares that watching her kids right the Teacups for the first time is a core memory. It take a very dedicated Disney fan to have a specific outfit when going to the Parks, and this is true for Kearran--her Disney uniform always includes a "Little Mermaid" shirt, and when visiting the Parks she loves the Jungle Cruise, the Matterhorn, the Incredicoaster, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and needs a Dole Whip moment in California Adventure, and loves the popcorn, especially the different colored-popcorns in Fantasyland! Kearran has some fun stories from performing in both "The Lion King" and "Tarzan" to share (like rehearsing with Phil Collins), and plays "Kearran's Disney World" which is a series of trivia questions tied to her Broadway resume. This "Aristocats"-loving star is also a huge fan of Disney pins and all of the special memories tied to each pin, and shares some of her favorites on the episode. Warning: "What if Mickey Mouse sang 'Big Spender'?" is something that is said on this episode. News: The D23 expo is getting a new, immersive retail experience called the “Expo Marketplace.” The 27,000 foot space will include everything from limited-time merch to the first items celebrating 100 years of Disney. You'll find pins, t-shirts, hats, books, plush toys and so much more. Some of these spaces will require a virtual queue boarding pass. More details on a reservation system will come out later this summer and if you're not able to attend, some of these items will make it to the ShopDisney store. – https://d23.com/d23-expo-marketplace-2022/ There's some hope that magic key holders won't have to keep refreshing the availability calendar for days to open up. Disneyland Paris launched a waiting list for Magic Key holders. With the new option, Magic Key holders put themselves on a waiting list for any day that may appear unavailable. If the day opens up, those on top of the waiting list are automatically given a reservation for that day. This is currently only available at the Paris Park, but that's also where the Lightning Lane started before coming State-side, which definitely helps fuel some of the speculation. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/15/will-disneyland-introduce-a-magic-key-reservation-waiting-list/ Guests that have seen the recently reopened World of Color and Fantasmic! nighttime entertainment may have noticed some updates. For World of Color, some elements were updated since parts to repair them were no longer available. From new 4k projectors to brighter lights on the Incredicoaster, the show looks amazing. Fantasmic! also received an extensive refurbishment to the entire show, which received some tech upgrades in 2017. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/20/how-disneyland-updated-fantasmic-and-world-of-color-special-effects/ There has been a lot of merchandise already on sale for the 50th anniversary of the Main Street Electrical Parade, but some new items have hit the shelves. First up is a 50th anniversary pin for $19.99, which features the Mickey drum float from the start of the parade with the 6.17.22 date on the side. There is also a t-shirt for $39.99 that features Elliot and June 17, 2022 written out. A mug is also on sale for $19.99. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/19/whats-new-in-disneyland-resort-creepy-star-wars-busts-now-in-galaxys-edge/ Fans of a certain Space Ranger can now meet their hero in his younger form from the new Lightyear movie. The character is now a face character and not the same version of Buzz from the Toy Story movies. This version fits in well with the new movie since the movie is about the real Buzz that the toy from Toy Story is based on. Guests can meet the new Buzz every hour until 4pm daily. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/17/buzz-lightyear-gets-a-new-look-in-disneyland-and-we-have-thoughts/ Several pops of color In Downtown Disney can be traced back to a Colombian-inspired tradition. The floral displays, or silletas, are a celebration of flowers. Fittingly, they start with a massive display from Encanto's Isabella and move throughout the district. The displays are a big display of inclusion and representation, such as LBGTQ+ Pride, Asian, Pacific Islander and Hawaiian heritage, Judaism, women, Indigenous and First-Nations people, Black, Hispanic, People of Latin heritage and people with different abilities. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/encanto-inspired-floral-displays-at-downtown-disney-district-represent-inclusion-at-the-disneyland-resort/ Last week, Cars Land turned 10 years old. The biggest part of the 1 billion dollar expansion of the Disneyland Resort opened on June 15, 2012. The Disney Parks Blog posted 10 ways to celebrate the anniversary. Meeting Cars Car-acters, getting the new Tow Mater popcorn bucket from Flo's or the Cozy Cone Motel, taking a photo with Guido in front of Luigi's, picking up a limited edition 10th anniversary Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater pin and more. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/06/10-ways-to-celebrate-cars-lands-10th-anniversary-at-disneyland-resort/ A shop on Main Street that has been closed since the start of the pandemic apears to be on the way to coming back. The Silhouette Shop on Main Street has posted some job listings looking for artists for the location, so hopefully this location will reopen soon. – https://www.micechat.com/324417-disneyland-news-update-buzz-construction-cars-land-anniversary/ A couple of quick updates from around the resort. Over in New Orleans Square, progress can be seen at Pirates of the Caribbean. The wall inside of the Blue Bayou restaurant has come down and the bayou is looking fresh! Concrete and cobblestone is being set in the outdoor queue area, and at this time is does not appear that Lightning Lane will be added to this classic attraction. The new planters at the entrance of Tomorrowland are now complete. – https://www.micechat.com/324417-disneyland-news-update-buzz-construction-cars-land-anniversary/ Guess what classic Disneyland treat has a new variation! If you guessed churro, you would be correct. This time, it is an orange pop churro, which is a churro covered in orange flavored and colored, and comes with a side of orange and vanilla dipping sauce for $6.75 near the Haunted Mansion. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/06/19/disneys-newest-churro-tastes-like-your-favorite-ice-cream-bar/ The Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland has received some extended hours and a new “late nite dining” menu options. News: This week, we got some more details about the Genie service coming to the parks soon. Over in Walt Disney World, the service will launch on October 19th. No date is set for Disneyland yet, but Disney says it will be announced soon. The Genie+ service, which is an additional cost, will be available at a number of attractions and works just like MaxPass from before the closure. Individual Lightning Lane selections will be an additional purchase on top of Genie+ and Lightning Lane, and will be priced from $7 to $15 per attraction, per guest. At this time, only Radiator Springs Racers, WEB Slingers, and Rise of the Resistance will be on the Lightning Lane+ service. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/10/08/disneyland-reveals-new-disney-genie-details-heres-how-the-itinerary-planning-app-works/ and https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/10/disney-genie-launching-at-walt-disney-world-resort/ At Disneyland, the following attractions will feature Lightning Lane as part of the Genie+ paid service. To be clear, these are part of the $20 per guest, per day Genie+ service, and not part of the Lightning Lane additional charge. Autopia, Big Thunder, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, it's a small world, Matterhorn, Smuggler's Run, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Star Tours. Over in DCA, Goofy's Sky School, Grizzly River Run, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout, Incredicoaster, Monsters, Inc., Soarin', and Midway Mania. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/10/08/disneyland-announces-22-rides-where-you-can-pay-to-skip-the-lines-heres-how/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/genie/ Guests that have been to Disney California Adventure this past week on rainy days may have been able to ride Web Slingers by waiting in a standby queue, instead of getting a boarding pass. Disneyland is switching to a standby queue on days when the attendance are lower for the new attraction. Guests who get a boarding group at the 7am window will have their boarding group honored, but there may not be a need for the noon boarding groups, and switch to standby only. The standby queue usually becomes active around 4-6pm. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/10/12/disneyland-pauses-web-slingers-virtual-queue-on-slow-days-and-switches-to-standby-line/ One of the big questions guests have been asking a lot recently is what is going on with the trams? The Orange County Register thinks that it is still related to the COVID-19 health and safety regulations that have been in place since the parks reopened. There were some posts online this week that said the trams were needing repairs after not being run for nearly a year and a half and maintenance teams are already overloaded. So, the real answer to when the trams come back is anyone's guess. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/10/11/when-will-disneyland-parking-lot-trams-return/ Joffrey's Coffee & Tea Company has finally made it to the west coast from Florida. The coffee stand that sits at the entrance to Pixar Pier and Paradise Wharf was recently converted to a Joffrey's, along with adding mobile ordering and some food offerings. Breakfast offerings are abailable until 11am, with a burrito available after. A chia fruit salad, sugar cookie, chocolate chip cookie, and chocolate croissants are offered all day. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/10/photos-joffreys-coffee-tea-company-makes-disneyland-resort-debut-at-the-gourmet-coffee-stand-at-disney-california-adventure/ Disney+ has been an excellent source of information and entertainment about the parks since it launched in 2019. A new movie, which will focus on the creation of Disneyland, will be debuting on the service in the future. The movie will be written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who worked on The Jungle Book 2 and Beauty and the Beast. David Gordon Green is set to direct. He worked on Halloween and Halloween Kills as the writer and director. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/10/movie-focusing-on-disneylands-creation-coming-to-disney/ The Disneyland Resort has been hiring quite a few new cast members recently, although not a lot with more than two legs! The Circle D Ranch has recently received 5 new horses for Disneyland. The new horses are Dublin, a four-year-old Belgian and Percheron cross, Champ and his half brother Chip, who are 5 years-old and are Clydesdales. Lily is 5 years-old, with no breed mentioned. Finally, there is Pumpkin, who is one-and-a-half years old, and is a Percheron. The training to get horses from the ranch to Disneyland can take from 6 months to a year, depending on the horse. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/10/meet-the-new-disneyland-horses-at-circle-d-ranch/ After three long years, the current Disneyland Ambassadors Justin and Rafa, who would normally have held the position for two years, but because of COVID, their term was extended to three years, will retire to other positions in the parks. The new 2022-223 Ambassadors were announced last week, making their titles official. Mark is currently a stage manager in Disney California Adventure, starting with the company back in 2013. Nataly is a guest relations VIP hostess, starting with the company back in 2010. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/10/meet-the-next-disneyland-resort-ambassador-team/ Weeklyteers who are like Tage and love building models of Disneyland, there is a new 3D model book coming out soon! “Build Your Own Disneyland Park: Press Out 3D Model is now available for preorder on Amazon for $14.99. The book has 35 press out pieces and instructions to build a 3D model of Disneyland. There is also some information about each of the lands in the book. Some of the wallpapers include Miss Piggy as Madame Pigota, Animal, and Muppet versions of famous locations from the Haunted Mansion. There are some GIPHY stickers when you search Disney Plus Life on Instagram, and more. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/10/celebrate-muppets-haunted-mansion-with-all-new-digital-wallpapers-stickers-and-more/ The Haunted Mansion exhibit at Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln has been updated to include some of the props that were used to film the Muppets Haunted Mansion special. Love is an open door on this episode of "E-Ticket to Broadway," as David is joined by Disney-enthusiast and Broadway star Patti Murin! Listen as Patti ("Frozen," "Xanadu," "Wicked") shares her eternal love of Disney--from loving Snow White to Ariel to Belle to Anna, to her first magical cross-country trip to Disneyland when she was four years old and fell in love with Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Peter Pan's Flight (but terrified of the Matterhorn and The Haunted Mansion). A deep discussion about Snow White's Scary Adventure transpires (naturally), before Patti shares memories of her first trip to Walt Disney World when she was seven, and how amazing it was and how she finally went on Space Mountain for the first time (but still afraid of The Haunted Mansion). Patti discusses her excitement for bringing her daughter to the Parks for the first time one day--meeting all of the different characters, and together going on "Frozen Ever After" in EPCOT. From her time playing Belle in "Beauty and the Beast" and cherishing being part of that iconic opening number as well as "Be Our Guest," to how she came to the role of Princess Anna in "Frozen" and her favorite moments of her time with the show, it is clear Patti is a true Disney kid. She and David chat about which job Patti would most like to have at the Parks, what attraction she'd be ok with getting stuck on with Olaf, which character from "Toy Story" she most relates to, and what she thinks Anna would most like at a Disney Park. This episode features everyone's favorite game "Finishing Each Other's Disney Sandwiches," as well as Patti's love for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Splash Mountain, the Incredicoaster, and churros. Masks are still required for all cast members indoors for now. Physical distancing for all cast members, indoors or out has also been phased out. This will greatly help in tight spaces like kitchen areas around the resort. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/fully-vaccinated-disneyland-employees-no-longer-need-to-wear-masks-outdoors/ and https://www.micechat.com/294044-new-disneyland-procedures-start-june-15-masks-off-no-physical-distancing/ With all of the changes recently to all the safety protocols around the resort, MiceChat posted a guide to all the current policies. These include the new cast member guidelines we talked about previously in this episode, as well as theme park reservations sticking around for the foreseeable future, face coverings no longer required anywhere except for transportation like buses for fully vaccinated guests, un-vaccinated or partially vaccinated guests must still wear masks, physical distancing is no longer required, ride capacity is back at 100% without plexiglass shields, dining capacity has also been increased, indoor queues are back in service, both parking structures are open, out of state guests are allowed, no temperature checks are required, and entertainment has started to return. – https://www.micechat.com/294044-new-disneyland-procedures-start-june-15-masks-off-no-physical-distancing/ A sign that things are coming to an end with the pandemic is the return of single rider lines at a few attractions this week. Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Smuggler's Run, Star Tours, and Splash Mountain at Disneyland, and Radiator Springs Racers, the Incredicoaster, and Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure now allow single riders. This should help get as many guests on attractions and out of the lines faster. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/26/disneyland-brings-back-single-rider-lines-for-most-popular-attractions/ Some attractions have reopened earlier than expected in the last week! Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Storybook Land Canal Boats both welcomed guests a day or two early. Storybook Land Canal Boats look great and have had a number of their elements updated during the closure. Buzz Lightyear has not been updated and we have seen reports online that some of the attraction vehicles have been tagged out of service. Hopefully maintenance can get to them soon and get Buzz back to 100%! – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-video-buzz-lightyear-astro-blasters-soft-reopens-at-disneyland/ Some great news for guests who want to walk around and see Avengers Campus! The land is now open to everyone and the gates that were in place to control the amount of people in the new land have been removed. Guests can now freely enter the land from any of the three entrances. This is making the ability to get food and to enter stores very easy, with little to no wait on most days. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ For those of you visiting the parks soon, the crowds look to be great! Even though more people are allowed in the parks now, the wait times for attractions have been lower than they were before the lower capacity! This, along with the cast members getting back into the swing of things has made the process much smoother. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ There have been some rumors that cast members that generally work on parades have been called back to work. This could mean the return of Magic Happens sometime this summer, which only had a couple of weeks to run before the pandemic shut it down. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ The Disneyland hotel will begin a phased opening this week as the Fantasy Tower opens to guests. Along with the one tower, the two pools and the Monorail water slides will reopen, as well as the fitness center. The Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's will also reopen to the public. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/12971/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_June_30__July_4_2021#news1 Construction has started in the park to prepare for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. The facades of the Toontown Five & Dime and the Gag Factory have been demolished to make way for the new entrance for the attraction. Once completed, the new El Capitoon theater will take their place as the new entrance. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-video-toontown-five-dime-and-gag-factory-facades-demolished-as-mickey-minnies-runaway-railway-construction-continues-at-disneyland/ We previously reported that mobile scan and go shopping was being tested in World of Disney in Downtown Disney. Now, that system has been expanded into the parks at the Emporium in Disneyland, and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure. Guests will use the Disneyland app or scan a QR code in the store to enter the system, then grab a mobile checkout shopping bag and scan the barcodes with their smartphone cameras to add the item to their cart. Once done, guests check out through the app and show a QR code to a cast member on the way out of the store at a designated mobile checkout exit. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/disneyland-brings-scan-and-go-shopping-to-theme-park-stores/ Hollywood Land is the place for Avengers photo ops. A new Black Panther photo op has appeared this week in the land. It is the same setup used for the previous Black Panther meet and greet, but without the character this time, due to social distancing. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-black-panther-photo-op-arrives-in-hollywood-land-at-disney-california-adventure/ Just a quick follow up to something that we talked about a couple of weeks ago. The food waste trashcans have been rolled out to more locations around the resort recently. If you have any food waste, please dump it in these new recepticals so it can be recycled and not just end up in the landfill. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/disneyland-makes-tossing-out-leftover-food-a-little-less-wasteful/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/disneyland-resort-expands-sustainability-efforts-with-new-food-waste-bins/ On June 27th, which was Global Pride Day, Salt & Straw donated 5% of all its proceeds to local LGBTQ+ charities. For the Downtown Disney location, Reach LA was the charity chosen. Reach LA works with young LGBTQ people of color to “increase self sustainability by encouraging creative expression, supporting safe spaces and promoting health and wellness.” – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/06/26/disneylands-salt-straw-celebrating-global-pride-day-by-donating-to-local-groups/ Another fun treat has made its way to Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff in Pixar Pier. The new Forky cake pop looks like a sweet version of the character himself. The cake pop is sweet vanilla covered in white chocolate, and decorated to look like Forky. Reviews have said that it is pretty moist and very sweet, so be aware of this. Forky costs $5.49. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/06/24/review-toy-story-fans-will-love-disneys-new-sweet-treat/ Donald Duck Commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6VVOmT0Vk8 Discussion Topic: Evan

Giacchino's 2009 score for the Pixar hit Up earned him an Oscar®, a Golden Globe®, the BAFTA, the Broadcast Film Critics' Choice Award and two GRAMMY® Awards. Giacchino studied filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. After college, he landed a marketing job at Disney and began studies in music composition, first at Juilliard, and then at UCLA. He moved from marketing to producing in the newly formed Disney Interactive Division where he had the opportunity to write music for video games. After moving to DreamWorks Interactive, he was asked to score the temp track for the video game adaptation of The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Subsequently, Steven Spielberg hired him as the composer and it became the first PlayStation game to have a live orchestral score, recorded with members of the Seattle Symphony. Giacchino went on to score numerous video games including Spielberg's Medal of Honor series. Giacchino's work in video games sparked the interest of J.J. Abrams, and thus began their long-standing relationship that would lead to scores for the hit television series Alias and Lost, and the feature films Mission Impossible III, Star Trek, Super 8 and Star Trek Into Darkness. Additional projects include collaborations with Disney Imagineering on music for Space Mountain, Star Tours (with John Williams), the Ratatouille ride in Disneyland Paris, and the Incredicoaster on Pixar Pier at California Adventure. Giacchino was the musical director of the 81st Annual Academy Awards®. His music can be heard in concert halls internationally with all three Star Trek films, Ratatouille, Jurassic World, Up and Coco being performed live-to-picture with a full orchestra. In June 2018, Giacchino premiered his first work for symphony orchestra, Voyage. Commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, the piece celebrates the 60th anniversary of the founding of NASA. In July 2019, a third movement was added for the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. Jojo Rabbit, the critically acclaimed Fox Searchlight film written and directed by Taika Waititi, earned Giacchino a BAFTA nomination this year. His upcoming film projects include Matt Reeves' The Batman. Giacchino's first LP of original music, Travelogue Vol 1, featuring his Nouvelle Modernica orchestra, is described as a story in song and will be released on Mondo Records in October 2020. Giacchino serves as the Governor of the Music Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and sits on the advisory board of Education Through Music Los Angeles.

In my pursuit of the good life I have built a life-list of things that I want to accomplish or experience. One of the things that I was so excited to do recently was to hug the tallest tree on earth - Hyperion. It was amazing! Another thing on the list is to interview a gold-medal olympian. Today, that happened! Listen to the whole interview for the amazing story of an olympian who came back to win gold after breaking her back and then went on to battle an almost invisible enemy: Lyme disease. Her journey is amazing. I hope you have a listen. Arianne Jones is an Olympian, a plant-based chef, a holistic nutritionist and is currently battling Lyme disease. She is a speaker a storyteller, a food photographer, a fierce goal-chaser, an elixir mixer and an unshakable optimist. As part of her luge career, she has competed not only at the Sochi Olympics, but also in 10 Canadian championships and 52 world cups. In her last World Cup, she won the gold medal representing Canada. If her story was a ride at Disneyland, it would be the Incredicoaster or perhaps the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride because it goes up and down a lot! She is a paragon of grit and someone who inspires me greatly. I first found Arianne on airbnb during the pandemic. My wife Stacie found her virtual experience of cooking a healthy dessert with an olympian. If you want to spend the night in your own kitchen learning and being inspired by Arianne, I highly recommend this experience as well! Today we dive into her story and hear even more about her unshakable optimism. Disney California Adventure played host to the “Tale of the Lion King” during a limited summertime run in 2019.  The Tale of the Lion King brought to life by the Storytellers of the Pride Lands, a troupe of traveling performers who present Simba’s beloved and timeless journey in a unique story-theater style with live music and dance that celebrates the spirit of Africa.  The lead narrator, Mwongozo (Swahili for “guide”) leads the 18 performers in this live adaptation. The performance was presented in a contemporary story-theater style that retold the tale through language, song, and dance. “The approach that we’ve taken with ‘Tale of the Lion King’ is that this is a story that was passed on from generation to generation, and now it’s come here to Disney California Adventure Park,” said Susana Tubert, Creative Director, Disney Parks Live Entertainment. “The Storytellers of the Pride Lands have come to share this ancestral story of how a cub became a king.” With new musical arrangements of classic songs including “Circle of Life,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Hakuna Matata,” among others. The live drumming and singing, along with the set and costumes all celebrate the cultural roots of this beloved Disney story. The tale was performed several times a day at the Palisades Stage, with the Incredicoaster and the Pixar Pier around in the distance, a portable stage that vanished long before World of Color performed.

Is there life after Galaxy's Edge? This new “Star Wars Land” has raised the bar (and I'm not talking about the safety bar) for the rest of Disneyland Park, and all other theme parks for that matter. The average guest expectation around immersion, no doubt, was intensified when Universal Studios decided to jump the shark with the Harry Potter-themed regions of their Hollywood and Orlando parks. Disney Parks fan-boys/girls looked to their leader, Big Bob Iger, for a response. After much ado, we were graced with the inclusion of a brand new themed region at both Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. By delivering such an astonishingly plot-immersive galaxy among lands, detailed down to the Coca-Cola bottles looking like thermal detonators, Walt Disney Imagineering has created the contrast of all contrasts. A side-by-side comparison where even Disney's previous best, Cars Land at Disney's California Adventure, shows just how involved one can get while traipsing around the streets below the spire, and then feel so disconnected while standing in Radiator Springs and spotting the Incredicoaster in the near distance. How will Disneyland and her counterparts, both stateside in Orlando, and abroad, address the now occasional lack of immersive, cohesive theming outside of Star Wars Land? By setting the bar so high, Disney Imagineering has shined a proverbial flashlight on the rest of the lands throughout each park, putting their opportunities for improvement on the news! Come along as Scar and I take a deep dive into how we'd like to see the Disney theme parks handle this sudden requirement for evolution! Kingdom Cable: We chat dry ice no longer being permitted in Disneyland. We handle the topic of which smoking devices are going to be allowed in the stateside Disney theme parks going forward (trick statement - none of them are). And we even so briefly note that Disney Parks will no longer be allowing strollers for six, or those massive child and luggage transporting wagons in the parks. Don't forget to leave a comment - good, bad, or ugly - we'll take em all!

http://www.attractionchecklist.com - Join John B. deHaas and me as we 'Dash' off to Disney California Adventure and experience the newly retimed Incredicoaster!  Recorded on July 27, 2018. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode, we head back to Disney California Adventure and check out the newly rethemed Incredicoaster.  The Disneyland Resort website describes this attraction by saying, “Buckle up for an exhilarating ride into the world of The Incredibles on this newly re-imagined attraction!”  Guests must be 48” or taller to ride this attraction and Fastpass and single rider is available.  The Thrill Level describes the attraction as being a Thrill Ride that is Loud with Big Drops. Before we Dash off to ride it, here are five fast facts about The Incredicoaster. 1.  On November 2, 2017, Disney announced a renovation of Paradise Pier that would turn it into Pixar Pier.  The area’s signature attraction, California Screamin’  would close down on January 8, 2018 and reopen as Incredicoaster on June 23rd, 2018. 2.  The Incredicoaster is not merely a roller coaster, it does have a storyline.  Taking place after the events of Incredibles 2, the Parr Family gets a roller coaster named after them.  Edna Mode agrees to watch baby Jack-Jack because both of them are too short to ride the attraction, but Jack-Jack escapes as the ride takes off and the Incredibles must work together to reign in his chaos. 3. The figure of Mrs. Incredible aka Elastigirl that appears the second tube of the ride measures 53 feet from head to toe. 4. A total of 19 figures of Jack Jack appear throughout the ride. 5. Michael Giacchino, who scored both Incredibles films created the music used on The Incredicoaster and in the queue area of the attraction. Let’s get set to save the day with the Incredibles.  Along for the ride is John B. deHaas and, seeing as this was both of our first times on this attraction, we’ll give you our initial thoughts after the ride audio.  This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones, put them on now as we are about to experience, The Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure. It's a really special week here at CoasterRadio.com! Not only are we welcoming a brand new baby girl into the family, we are also getting a chance to interview Disney Imagineer Tracey Noce who was the Creative Director for "Incredicoaster" and the Incredibles Park area of Pixar Pier, which opened in June at Disney California Adventure! Tracey tells us what it was like to re-imagine an iconic attraction like "California Screamin'."  She also tells us some behind the scenes stories about the different special effects and what it's like to add design elements to such a large (and fast) attraction.

The attraction audio recorded for this episode is available exclusively to the Saturday Morning Media Patron Patron.  Support the show and get fun Bonus content over at http://www.patreon.com/saturdaymorningmedia INTRO TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. Today we take a ride on an attraction that will soon get an incredible makeover.  Disney California Adventure’s California Screamin’.  The guide map describes California Screamin' by saying, “Zoom on this high speed coaster.”  The Thrill level of this attraction calls it a Thrill Ride  with big drops that is loud.  Guests must be 48” or taller to ride and both FastPass and a Single Rider line are available for this ride.  Before we Hurry, Hurry, Hurry to our seats, here are five fast facts about California Screamin’ at Disney California Adventure. 1.  California Screamin’ is one of Disney California Adventure’s opening Day attractions, beginning operation on February 8, 2001.   2.  The attraction uses linear induction motor to launch the coaster cars up the first hill.  Guests go from zero to 55 Miles Per Hour in about four seconds at the beginning.  This is also the only attraction at Disneyland resort that features a loop or inversion. 3.  With over 6000 feet of track, California Screamin’ is currently the third longest steel roller coaster on the American Continents and the seventh longest steel coaster in the world. 4.  Since late 2010, the voice of the safety spell on this attraction is provided by Neil Patrick Harris,  Before that the spiel was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker 5.  California Screamin’ is set to have it’s final ride on January 8, 2018 so that it can be retimes as the Incredicoaster based on the Disney/Pixar Incredibles film franchise. So let’s take one last loop on California Screamin’ as it is today.  Along for the ride is Suzie and after we’ll discuss our thoughts on this classic ride.  This is a binaural recording, so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience Disney California Adventure’s California Screamin’!
