News: The original version of the Haunted Mansion opened this week, and with it a new bride has appeared! The new bride replaces the previous Constance Hatchaway bride at the end of the attic scene. The new bride appears to be floating above the ground, holding a candelabra instead of a hatchet, with the return of the beating heart effect. In addition to the new bride, her candelabra can now be seen in the endless hallway, and inside a crypt in the graveyard scene. She is joined by a one-eyed cat, similar to the one-eyed cat that was installed previously. The cemetery on the hill has been unveiled from the scrim blocking the area before. In addition to all the food that we spoke about last week, there is also a new Year of the Snake display in the lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel. A Mickey-shaped snake was cooked up by the culinary team at the resort to honor the holiday. By the time you hear this, they will already be on sale. News: Plans have been submitted to the city of Anaheim for prep work to begin the expansion of Avengers Campus. The plan includes utilities, temporary trailers, and parking lots in the backstage area behind Avengers Campus. The expansion is NOT part of the DisneylandForward plan, according to the city. Construction should begin in 2025. – NEWS: Disney Submits Plans for NEW Park Expansion | the disney food blog Last week was Thanksgiving in the United States, and Walt Disney World and Disneyland helped those in need. In Anaheim, Disneyland teamed up with Northgate Gonzalez Markets to deliver groceries to 125 families, and $15,000 in holiday food vouchers to community nonprofits. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress, Anaheim Independica Family Resource Center, and Chrysalis Anaheim were all recipients of the vouchers. – Disney Serves Up Food for Families in Need this Thanksgiving – Disney Parks Blog We talked about the new Haunted Mansion queue last week on the podcast, and even more in the bonus episode that is out now for supporters, but Disney has posted even more about it on the Disney Parks Blog. The first part of the new queue was designed by Master Gracey, one of the mansion's ghosts. Further along is Madame Leota's garden. Finally, near the back of the queue is the mansion greenhouse, which belongs to all the mansion's ghosts. The new shop also has a name now – Somewhere Beyond. Welcome to Episode 3 in Season 2 of The People It Takes! In this weeks episode, our host, Lauryn, sits down at Disneyland Resort's newest Resort Hotel, Pixar Place, with former cast member, current content creator, Erick, also known as “BeastlyAppetite” or “MrBeastly”. Before becoming a familiar face on social media, Erick was a cast member at DLR with a wide range of jobs within his role. Ericks role allowed him to make magic on stage, as well as behind the scenes. Erick went from working in the parks, to being hosted by the company to attend special events at the parks and creates a different kind of magic for Disney lovers all over through his content creation. Details on storyline for Tiana's Bayou Adventure Disney has announced today that Communicore Hall and Plaza will open June 10, 2024 at EPCOT in Walt Disney World. 'Disney Dreams That Soar' Drone show coming to Walt Disney World this summer Animal Kingdom will celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Lion King film. There will be celebrations between June 10th through September 6th. Joy will begin meeting guests in Pixar Place at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Reservations at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort - A Disney Vacation Club Resort are now open to all guests Cast Member-to-Guest Lanyard Pin Trading returns to all of Walt Disney World this April National Geographic has announced that a new documentary will be debuting April 29th on Disney+ and Hulu called EPCOT BECOMING.

In an unexpected last minute turn of events, I ended up having the opportunity to visit the Disneyland Resort. My focus was on Disneyland Park as well as the Downtown Disney/Hotel District Area. We'll visit these locations to see what's new and what's happening here at "The Happiest Place on Earth". We'll look at new offerings such as Adventureland Treehouse, Pixar Place and Tiana's Palace. Speaking of Tiana, we look at its impact on the park as well as recent announcements of when Tiana's Bayou Adventure will arrive. We'll then look at entertainment happenings to include Mickey's Mix Magic and the incomparable Magic Happens. We'll also look at where Disneyland is in terms of receiving the permissions and authority to direct its own zoning in moving forward. Could Disneyland have a third theme park? When it returns, they have promised new magic but they have not promised the return of the Maleficent dragon. This has layers of vanilla chiffon, berry mousse and berry compote, all topped with a celebratory Disney100 Medallion macaron.“The inspiration of this cake pulls from the rich purple and platinum colors used for the Disney100 celebration,” Chef Amanda shared. “The drapery on the sides of the cake represents the traditional bunting that adorns Main Street, U.S.A. for special occasions. Also in concierge, the Celebration Cupcake tops a red velvet sponge cake with vanilla frosting, shimmering sprinkles and 25th chocolate décor.Captain Minnie is joining the anniversary festivities with the Vanilla Crisped Rice Treat offered at all Cove Café locations. Last but certainly not least, signature desserts throughout the entire fleet will be enhanced with the addition of a special 25th chocolate piece to their already picturesque presentation. An opening day attraction, The Backlot Tour delighted (or bored) guests at Hollywood Studios until it closed to make way for Galaxy's Edge.  While it was originally intended to be an insider's look at the film industry, it never quite managed to live up to Disney's expectations.  We're taking a deep look at this once classic attraction this week! Music by Colin Paul

Just over 30 years ago, April 30th, 1989, John Ritter introduced us to the concept of the Disney MGM Studios, a new theme park that was a fully functioning television and movie production studio providing you a peek behind the scenes at moviemaking magic where you could even be part of the action.  If you're into Disney history, the 90-minute special is a must watch – You can catch the full episode here Walt Disney World celebrated the 30th anniversary of the opening for Disney Studios earlier this month.  The festivities included a cavalcade of Disney characters on Hollywood Boulevard led by none other than Mickey and Minnie Mouse.   Mickey and Minnie introduced us to the Disney Hollywood Studios new logo and limited time merchandise, food, and drinks commemorating the 30th Anniversary. It’s hard to believe that when the studios opened, MGM Studios was a half day park, a side trip from Epcot where you could learn how movies were made.  Fast forward 30 years and Disney Hollywood Studios is about to become the epicenter of Walt Disney World.  With the opening of Star Wars Galaxy Edge this August,  the 14 acre immersive land will be followed by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad in early 2020 completing the park-wide transformation that includes Toy Story Land, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, An Incredible Celebration on Pixar Place, and Disney Junior Dance Party and open for summer 2019! For the park’s 30th Anniversary celebration, Disney announced the addition of a table service restaurant, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, in Toy Story Land and an array of Toy Story 4 pop-up merchandise locations. The evening finished with the premiere of “Wonderful World of Animation”, the all-new projection show in Center Stage.  Projected onto the Chinese Theater, the show chronicles the journey through 90 years of Disney and Pixar animations and includes blasts from the past and rarely seen characters as well as new favorites and classic stories.  The show replaces the “Movie Magic” projection show, which you can find in SamsDisneydairy Episode #99 – The Wonderful World of Animation will lead to the always popular “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular”.  

For years now we have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. It is pegged to be a truly revolutionary land and will bring in attractions, atmosphere and technologies that will launch a new era in theme parks. While we are only months away from the opening of the land in Disneyland and a little bit further away from the opening in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, we are still unaware of most of the things that will be in the land. So that’s what we wanted to do here today. Discuss everything that we know so far, including some details WDW Opinion has stumbled across that haven’t made their rounds to the general public yet. Just like the films that inspired this land we anticipate having multiple “episodes” of the podcast that discuss further details in the months to come. In this episode of My Disney Class Podcast, Ryan and Howie are doing a little Disney dreaming and sharing what they are looking forward to in 2019 and beyond.             If you haven’t visited Walt Disney World recently, then there’s even more for you to explore and experience than ever before with much much more to come.  There is the giant elephant in the room that is Galaxy’s edge the new Star Wars land coming to Hollywood studios. This new land promises to be the dream every Star Wars fan has been waiting for and the level of interaction between the land and its guests promises to be one like we have never seen before.  Let’s just say, Ryan and Howie, can’t wait!             We also talk about several other attractions coming to Hollywood Studios, including Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Pixar Place being transformed into Municiberg city block from the Incredibles. All these coming attractions are sure to expand Hollywood Studios into an immersive fun experience for the whole family that we at My Disney Class are sure will provide plenty on new inspirations for the classroom as well.             We also talk about some of the other changes coming to some of the other parks including Guardians of the Galaxy at EPCOT, Ratatouille: The Adventure, Tron Lightcycle Power Run and many more.  We hope you enjoy this episode as we look to the future and reflect on the past.
