Vaccine skeptics and changing recommendations from the CDC are creating a lot of confusion about who should consider getting a COVID vaccine, and whether or not they will be able to get one if they want it. Dr. Richard Ferguson is an emergency room doctor and the president of Black Physicians of Utah. He joins Maria Shilaos to break down who should get a COVID vaccine and why it's still important to remain vigilent when it comes to the disease, especially as the weather begins to turn.

In this special coverage on Midday, Maria Shilaos talks with two people to get their perspectives on the news. After the initial story, she speaks with Dr. Richard Ferguson, President-Black Physicians of Utah, to understand what the science says about autism and any potential connections to acetaminophen. After that, she speaks with Calleen Kenney of the Autism Council of Utah for her perspective on the news and the messaging around it.

The U.S. Secretary of the Interior says he plans to do away with a Biden Administration rule that added conservation -- or no use -- to the approved uses of BLM land. Secretary Dough Burgum says this change would restore balance in federal land management by empowering local decision-making, supporting respondible development, and prioritizing multiple-use access. He says the Public Lands Rule exceed the BLM's statutory authority by placing an overemphasis on conservation or no-use at the expense of multiple-use access, threatening grazing, energy development, recreation, and other traditional land uses. While state lawmakers praise the move, conservationists are worried about what it could mean for the future. Director of Sporting Advocacy for the National Wildlife Federation Aaron Kindle tells Maria Shilaos that he believes rescinding this rule threatens wildlife, ranching, hunting and rural communities.
