Years ago when I was in real estate, it was common sense to pay for services that could improve your business if you wanted to see big monetary gains. So although it was scary, I knew I had to do it and I started out with $300 a month. After a year, that investment led me to be in a place where I could invest over $2000/month in my business, which led me to experience a 6 figure year. After leaving real estate, I didn't stop investing in myself. I paid to work with coaches that were experts in their field and could show me the ropes to growing my business and manifesting my dream life. However, I never felt like i experienced significant monetary gains from those investments. So for a long time, I didn't fully appreciate them and questioned whether they were worth it and whether I had made the right decision because of that. However, as I share in the podcast, money is only ONE out of many returns you could get from your investments and it's NOT the most valuable. The biggest and most rewarding returns I've gotten from investing in myself for the past 3 years have been wisdom, a lot of healing in myself and with my relationships, self-growth, new perspectives, new ways to see my life and the world, sharpening several skills to a level that feels like it comes natural even though just 3 years ago I wasn't great at them, etc, etc!!!  Come Transform in Tulum with me and your future soul sisters this June 15-20 at the Passport to Manifest Retreat. Travel Tales From Beyond The Brochure

Hello! I recently had a week and a half in Malta. This was for two reasons; firstly, my friend Laura wanted to get away for the Easter Weekend, because she believed it would be infinitely better than staying at home, and she'd never been to Malta. Secondly, the weekend after, there was a video content creation conference run by Traverse and I figured if I was going to be there anyway, I might as well pop along. I'd been to Malta before, back in January 2017, and I'd always meant to do some blogs about my visit - indeed at the time I did some microblogging on Instagram - but I never got round to doing fuller posts. Once I knew I was going again, it made perfect sense to plan a podcast episode that merged together both trips. Topics discussed in this episode are: * Further leg updates * Flight issues * The Traverse KeyFrame Conference * Expectations of Malta * Ancient temples * Gozo's Citadella * A brief history of Malta * All Along The Watchtowers * Fort St Angelo * World War Two * Dingli Cliffs and Dwejra Bay * The Salt Pans of Marsalforn * Maltese beaches * "A European Israel" * Traffic and problems being a pedestrian * The quiet backstreets * The old town of Mdina * Marsaxlokk * The Co-Cathedrals of Malta * A very small Cristo Redentor * Maltese craft beer and wine * Italian-esque food * A watery irn-bru * The Maltese Bus service * Ferries across the harbour and beyond * People * The Maltese Football Premier League A PDF transcript of this episode is available. Here's a link to the Extreme Holidays Podcast I appeared on, that I mention in the episode. Contributions in this episode come from: Steph (A Nomad's Passport), and Richard (Imkeepsake) As always, if you have anything to say about the topic, or indeed about my podcasting in general, leave a comment or let me know. I have a newsletter with extra content, and where I'll be mentioning future podcast episodes if you want to make your own contribution. I also have a Patreon - if you like what you hear, and want to access exclusive content (or just to show your appreciation), then head on over. Until next time, bye for now. :)

If detaching from the outcome is hard for you, this episode is for you! I have heard multiple metaphors over and over to try to adopt this way of being around my desires, but nothing ever really clicked for me, until now. I've wanted my dreams to happen sooooo badly that it's crossed over onto neediness. I have felt I needed them to come true because otherwise it would mean something bad and I would miss out on experiencing what I imagined I would feel afterwards. I asked my higher self to help me with being able to embrace this "i want you but i dont need you" energy around my desires, and so I opened up my journal one day and channeled one of the most mindblowing realizations that helped me with just that.On today's episode I share with you my story, the journal entry that led me to the epiphany I've been waiting for 3 years, as well as journal prompts for you to help you remove the needy energy around your desires and stop fearing the undesired outcome. Come Transform in Tulum with me and your future soul sisters this June 15-20 at the Passport to Manifest Retreat. Passport Entanglements examines the problems with documents issued to Indonesian migrant workers in Hong Kong and explores the larger role that passports and other types of documentation play in gendered migration, precarious labor, and bureaucracy. Focusing on the politics and inequalities embedded in passports, anthropologist Nicole Constable considers how these instruments determine legal status and dictate rights. Constable finds that new biometric technologies and surveillance do not lead to greater protection, security, or accuracy, but rather reinforce violent structures on already vulnerable women by producing new vulnerabilities and reproducing old ones. Nicole Constable is Professor of Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh and author of several books, including Romance on a Global Stage: Pen Pals, Virtual Ethnography, and "Mail Order" Marriages and Born Out of Place: Migrant Mothers and the Politics of International Labor.
