David Pouleris grew up in Richmond Virginia and attended Midlothian High School. His interests during this time included skateboarding, flying, collegiate-style wrestling, hunting, fishing, and being an active member of the volunteer fire department and rescue squad. He attended Virginia Military Institute and graduated in 1998. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve as a Motor Transport Operator until his commissioning in 1999. After The Basic School 2nd Lieutenant Pouleris graduated from communication school and was awarded the Communication Officer MOS. In the 20 years Dave spent in the Marine Corps he served in the following units: 4th Combat Engineer Battalion | 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit | 2d Force Service Support Group | 2d Force Reconnaissance Company | 2d Marine Special Operations Battalion (now known as 2d Raider Battalion) | Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Atlantic | Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps - Pentagon | Marine Security Cooperation Group | Headquarters, Marine Forces Special Operations Command. While on active-duty Dave was certified as a Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist and a Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor (JTAC-I). His personal awards included the Meritorious Service Medal (x2), Navy Commendation Medal (x3), Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and numerous unit and campaign awards. Dave's deployed experiences while on active duty include Joint and Multi-National training evolutions both home and abroad, as well as deployments to Kosovo, Kuwait, two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. Upon retirement from the Marine Corps in 2018 Dave became the first Director of Programs for The Honor Foundation (THF) campus serving Marine Forces Specials Operations Command in Wilmington North Carolina. In 2021 Dave turned over his duties at The Honor Foundation and was hired as the Vice President of Operations for CloudWyze, an IT services company in Wilmington N.C. In 2022 Dave was presented with a rare opportunity to return to the fire service as a Firefighter / EMT with the North Topsail Beach Fire Department where he still serves part-time. In 2024 Dave was hired as the full-time Operations Manager with PipeView Technologies, a utility cleaning and surveying company in Wilmington N.C.

Diana Everett retired in 2018 as the Executive Director for TAHPERD (Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance). She holds a PhD in sport administration from the Texas Woman's University (TWU). Her Master's degree in physical education is from Baylor University and her Bachelor's degree, also in physical education, is from The University of Texas Arlington. Diana taught physical education, health, and biology and coached basketball, tennis, track, and volleyball at these Texas schools: Midlothian High School, Travis Middle School (Temple ISD), San Marcos High School, Clear Creek High School and Clear Brook High School. Diana began her association management career in 1995 as the Executive Director for the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS), which was allied with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) in Reston, VA. Diana has presented at local, state, regional, and national conferences. She also has several publications and awards. Some of her most treasured recognitions are the Kitty Magee Most Promising Professional Award from Texas Woman's University, the Meritorious Service Award from USA Volleyball, Midlothian ISD Athletics Hall of Honor, and the TAHPERD Honor Award and Distinguished Service Award. Some of Diana's favorite activities are kayaking, golf, sailing, traveling, and reading. It is a true honor having Diana on the show.

In this episode I talk with Coach Robert Irwin. Robert Irwin is the varsity Defensive Line coach at Midlothian High School. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University where he majored in Political Science and spent four years in the Corps of Cadets, Company E-2. During his time at A&M, Coach Irwin was selected to be a member of the Ross Volunteers, the official honor guard for the Governor of the State of Texas. Coach Irwin is entering his 12th year in coaching. He has previously coached varsity football at Vandegrift and Duncanville High Schools before joining the Midlothian staff as the Varsity Defensive Line Coach in 2017. Coach Irwin is the proud father of 4 boys; Ethan (10), Zander (7), & Robbie (4) and a baby yet to be named due in May of this year. His family later moved to Midlothian, Texas where he played football for Midlothian High School. As a high school QB, Bryce was ranked No. 25th in his position by Rivals.com. Bryce signed to play collegiate football at Baylor University and backed up Robert Griffin III for 3 years. He went on to start for the bears in the 2013 and 2014 seasons and lead the team to back to back Big 12 conference title. He finished 7th in the heisman voting in 2013 and 10th in 2014. After being drafted in the 4th round by the New York Jets, Bryce started 7 games and played for the team for 2 seasons. In 2018 after battling injury, Bryce stepped away from professional football and now lives in the Dallas, Texas area with his wife. Prior to joining Midlothian, Coach Alexander was the Corners Coach at Lovejoy High School (5A) in Lucas, TX from 2015 to 2016. During the 2014 season, Cody was the co-Defensive Coordinator at L.V. Berkner High School (6A) in Richardson, TX. Before returning to the high school ranks, Coach A. was the Defensive Graduate Assistant at Baylor University under current Arizona St. Defensive Coordinator, Phil Bennett. During Coach’s tenure at Baylor, he assisted with the development of the corners and was placed in charge of opponent breakdowns, while overseeing and assisting with defensive recruiting, discovering players such as All-Big 12 LB, Eddie Lackey.
