CBS News has now confirmed more than 100 people were killed by Hurricane Ian. More than 400,000 people in Florida are still without power. President Biden visited Puerto Rico, to survey the damage from another deadly storm, Hurricane Fiona. He promised more than 60 million dollars to help the island prepare for future extreme weather events. At least 25 people were killed when Hurricane Fiona hit Puerto Rico as a category one storm, two weeks ago. North Korea has sharply escalated its confrontation with the U.S. and its allies with an aggressive new missile test. Russia's military is stepping up its so-called partial mobilization for its war on Ukraine, the defense minister says 200,000 reservists have been recalled so far. Ukraine's army is pushing farther into Russian-controlled areas and recapturing more territory. The Iranian goverment's violent crackdown on peaceful protests is now in its 18th day. One human rights group says at least 133 people have been killed and hundreds have been arrested so far. In Washington, the January 6th trial is underway for high-profile members of the extremist group "The Oath Keepers." Founder Stewart Rhodes and four other members are accused of seditious conspiracy, a charge reserved for people who plot to take on the U.S. Government by force. In the midterm elections, there is a new twist in the pivotal senate race in Georgia. The website the daily beast is reporting republican candidate Herschel Walker paid for a woman he was dating to get an abortion in 2009.
