What if wishing is not just emotional or spiritual, but deeply connected to the way the brain processes possibility, creativity, and change? Amy sits down with storyteller, inventor, and author Brownell Landrum to explore the intersection of neuroscience, intention, leadership, and imagination through the lens of what Brownell calls “the art and science of wishing.” Together they unpack the difference between goals, prayers, and wishes, the role of neuroplasticity and the reticular activating system in shaping awareness, and why peaceful, positive, purposeful intention changes how we experience momentum. The conversation moves through creativity, subconscious resistance, storytelling, workplace leadership, collective vision, and the emotional alignment required to move from longing into action. By the end, what emerges is a grounded reminder: the way we direct our attention shapes not only what we notice, but what becomes possible.Moments That Create Momentum:Why Wishes Need More Than Hope – Explore how neuroscience, ritual, and repetition transform wishing from passive thinking into intentional action and awareness. The Difference Between Goals, Prayers, and Wishes – Understand the emotional space between control, surrender, and collaboration with something larger than yourself. The Brain's Hidden Search Engine – Discover how the reticular activating system begins identifying opportunities, patterns, and solutions once intention becomes clear.Subconscious Resistance and Inner Alignment – See how the disconnect between mind, body, and higher purpose can quietly sabotage forward movement and growth.Creativity as a Leadership Skill – Hear why daydreaming, imagination, and spacious thinking are essential for innovation, vision, and meaningful transformation. Why Shared Vision Creates Momentum – Learn how storytelling and purposeful leadership help people feel emotionally connected to change instead of resistant to it.The “Something Better” Philosophy – Reflect on why unanswered wishes are not always failures, but sometimes invitations toward deeper alignment and possibility.Peaceful, Positive, Purposeful Living – Explore the emotional framework Brownell believes creates more clarity, creativity, collaboration, and forward movement in both work and life.About the Guest:Brownell Landrum is a

H3-S1 full 00:00 All right, let's go to the WRD talk line. We'll talk to Greg in Fountain Inn. How you doing, Greg? Hey, good afternoon, Charlie. I got a question, a question slash comment. Maybe your listeners know the answer to. But back in January of this year, my neighbor received a package from Amazon delivery. Right. And that was back in January. Well, about 00:29 Four days ago, she received a letter from an attorney here locally saying that she was being sued by the Amazon driver. The Amazon driver apparently fell in her driveway and got hurt, her hip. Well, it turns out that she was not actually an employee of Amazon, but she was a subcontractor. 01:00 So does that mean that all of us who accept Amazon delivery packages are susceptible to being sued if one of these drivers comes on our property? That's a scary thought. If she was a true Amazon employee, she would be covered under Amazon's workers' contract. But she would imagine that if you were a subcontractor, you would have to have some sort of insurance, right? 01:30 Yeah, you would think, but my elderly neighbor is being sued by this lady. uh And my elderly neighbor didn't know there was an incident. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. So your elderly neighbor, she work? Is she always there? No, she wasn't home supposedly when this happened. uh But she didn't know anything about this. 01:58 until three or four days ago when she got this letter from a local lawyer. Is it a reputable lawyer? 02:07 I don't I can't answer that. don't know. But you know, what does that open us up to? You know, if we get a package from Amazon, you know, we don't know who's delivering it. We assume it's Amazon who has insurance. You would think, you would think that if you were a delivery driver, then 02:34 You take on the burden of responsibility for whatever happens on that property. Was there a huge hole? there a ditch? I don't even know. There wasn't. They just fell. Yes. It was a concrete driveway and a concrete walkway to the porch. ah It was in January. I don't know if it was an ice issue. Yeah, right. It could have been. 03:02 I'm just, I just wanted everybody to be aware that when you get a Amazon delivery, you know, if it's not a true Amazon employee, that means it's a sub. Yeah. And evidently they don't require their subs to carry workman's comp or, know, whatever it is. That's crazy. Now I do see that a lot. I do see some vehicles that just have like an Amazon magnetic sticker on the side of the truck. You know, you get your ones from Amazon, get that, but that's, 03:32 Good grief, Greg. I appreciate you letting us know about that. Let's see if anybody else knows anything about it. I appreciate it, Stay in touch with me. Thank you very much. So if anybody knows anything about that, please let us know. Because if this woman is allowed to be sued, 03:53 Isn't anybody allowed to be sued? I mean, and would not that open up a whole can of worms for scams and fraud going on? Now, but I would think if you go to work and I have seen these cabs, here's the weird thing. I've seen these cabs. Have you guys seen these? It says yellow cab. It literally says on the taxi, yellow cab. And then in letters, it says, 04:22 driver is not an employee of yellow cab. I thought, why are you? All right. Anyway, let's go to Brian in Landrum. Brian, welcome. Good afternoon. How are you? I'm good. What's up? Hey, I was going to tell you, um I don't know the complete legalities behind it, but I didn't put up any no trespassing or any kind of signs like that on my property. Mine just plainly says, enter at your own risk. So when you do that, you're assuming the risk. 04:52 of coming on my property. There's several items that may or may not be on the property that would prevent you from safely arriving or leaving. Gotcha, yeah. You are assuming the risk of coming on my property. Thank you, Chris. I appreciate it, buddy. No, I'm sorry. Thank you. Now, let's see if we're going to Chris. “Women are the backbones of family, of community,” Theresa Landrum ( of the Original United Citizens of Southwest Detroit) declares in a Detroit is Different conversation that moves with power, memory, and urgency. In this episode, Landrum traces how her family came from Tennessee into the “triple cities” of Ecorse, River Rouge, and Southwest Detroit, where Black families built businesses, bought homes on land contract, raised gardens, and created what she calls “our own Harlem Renaissance.” She lifts up a world where “we were our own mecca,” rich with doctors, teachers, churches, artists, and everyday people making life together under the pressure of redlining and racism. But this story is also a warning and a call to action. Landrum makes plain that “Jim Crow never ended, it just evolved,” and shows how pollution, industry, and disinvestment made environmental justice a life-or-death issue in Black Detroit. Her words, “the environmental justice movement was born off the backs and the work… of Black women,” frame this interview as both history lesson and organizing guide. This episode matters because it connects Legacy Black Culture to the future: protecting Black community means protecting Black air, Black land, Black health, and Black survival. In this episode I'm exploring the power of wishing - not as something whimsical or passive, but as a practice deeply grounded in science, intention, and the human voice. I'm joined by Brownell Landrum, the creator of the global movement The Cosmic Wish Experiment. We unpack the difference between a wish, a prayer, and a goal, and why a wish sits beautifully in the middle: part intention, part surrender. We talk about why wishing for something (rather than against something) matters, how collective wish circles amplify energy, and why so much of what we label “woo-woo” is now being explained by science. We dive deep into the role of the voice — why speaking a wish out loud helps bring the body, mind, and nervous system into alignment, and how being witnessed can strengthen (or sometimes sabotage) a wish. If you've ever wished to feel more confident speaking, to trust your voice, or to use it in service of something bigger than you, this conversation is for you. Settle in... and maybe even make a wish of your own. Connect with Brownell on LinkedIn and explore the Cosmic Wish Experiment here - https://cosmicwishexperiment.com/

Victoria Johnson speaks with Brownell Landrum, author of The Art and Science of Wishing, about how wishing bridges metaphysical wisdom and scientific research. Brownell explains her concept of “cosmic wishing,” the science behind how wishes engage mind, body, and behaviour, and her simple Three P's framework: being peaceful, positive, and purposeful. Together they explore repetition, action, wish circles, and collective intention, along with how to engage even sceptics by blending evidence with curiosity and play. Today I'm joined by Brownell Landrum, author of The Art and Science of Wishing and founder of The Cosmic Wish Experiment. We explore how wishing engages over a dozen different sciences - from neuroscience to quantum physics - and discover the difference between ego goals and cosmic wishes that come FROM the universe, not from our conditioned mind.About Brownell Landrum:Brownell Landrum is the author of The Art and Science of Wishing and founder of The Cosmic Wish Experiment, a global grassroots effort to elevate collective conscious energy through a simple, fun, and free process based on solid science. Her research reveals that wishing is a universal practice woven throughout every culture and faith tradition—one of humanity's most powerful expressions of hope, intention, and survival. As a storyteller, she quotes over 70 scientists, bridging the spiritual and the scientific.Key Insights from Our Conversation:Cosmic Wishes vs. Ego GoalsMost goals come from our ego/conditioned self—we think we need X to be happyCosmic wishes come TO us when we're not looking—from the quantum field of unlimited possibilitiesAccess them through curiosity and questions, not forcing: "What is actually aligned for me?"The Power of Responding to LifeWe're here to respond to life - to feel in our body what feels right and wrong. This takes courage because it leads us into the unknown. Most people stay in "false security" instead.Want vs. NeedOur "wants" come from ego. Our "needs" come from our body, our soul, our inner knowing. Distinguishing between them helps us access what's truly aligned. The Body IS the SubconsciousBrownell's biggest wisdom: Name your body and communicate with it as a separate identity. Instead of forcing, make it a game: "If we finish by noon, we can have the afternoon off." The body will rally to help you.Elevating Collective ConsciousnessIt only takes 5% of humanity to create a ripple effect. If people spend just one minute a day being peaceful, positive, and purposeful, it patterns the brain to do it more.Favorite Quotes:

John Mark explores the four layers of sin we must navigate on the spiritual journey—from major sins to unconscious patterns to our deepest attachments. He shows us why true transformation requires moving past behavior modification into the painful but liberating work of surrendering everything we cling to for happiness and peace.Key Scripture Passages: Galatians 5v19-21; 1 John 5v16-17; James 1v4This podcast and its episodes are paid for by The Circle, our community of monthly givers. How have industry and technology shaped our understanding of ourselves and of our understanding and relationship with God? How have such intellectual and societal trends contributed to the rise of atheism and unbelief? This week, I am interviewing a couple who has been RVing for nearly five years, and they have some great advice on ways people and companies can help make the RV lifestyle more inviting to all people. Vicky Childers and Lamont Landrum have been RVing for nearly five years after deciding they wanted to build a different kind of life together. When they first started dating, both felt the pull to travel. Vicky was already working remotely and Lamont wanted to find a way to see more of the world. They bought their first RV in 2019 and hit the road without even knowing Workamping existed. When the pandemic brought Lamont's handyman business to a halt, they discovered Workamping through friends and realized it was the perfect way for him to work while they traveled. Since then, they have held a variety of jobs across the country. Lamont's early positions included maintenance work at Buffalo Bill Village in Cody, Wyo., followed by multiple seasons at the beet harvest, which later promoted him to assistant foreman. He has also done volunteer work and boardwalk support at an Audubon preserve in Florida, maintenance and infrastructure upgrades in Texas, site support on Mackinac Island in Michigan, camp hosting in Colorado, and even served as an area manager for a campground company. Along the way, they upgraded their RV, explored new regions, and built a lifestyle centered on adventure, discovery and meaningful work. They shared what they love about this lifestyle, including the chance to live in beautiful locations for entire seasons, explore mountains, coastlines and national treasures at their own pace. Doing so allows them to enjoy a sense of freedom that traditional jobs rarely allow. Lamont also emphasized how rewarding it has been to work for employers who recognize effort and integrity. That's especially true during the beet harvest, where his hard work led to increasing responsibilities year after year. Vicky and Lamont also spoke about how Workamping can be made more inviting to minorities, especially people who may not see themselves represented in outdoor spaces. They noted that many people simply don't know this lifestyle is an option or doubt they would be welcomed. Lamont and Vicky suggested that employers and the industry can reach more people by helping newcomers “dip their toes in” to the Workamping lifestyle. They can do that in several ways, such as: Offering employee housing instead of requiring everyone to have an RV. Creating opportunities for people to simply visit campgrounds and ask questions. Sharing stories showing that most travelers are welcoming and supportive. They stressed that negative encounters do happen, but they are rare. The overwhelming majority of places they have visited have been friendly and accepting. If you would like to connect with Vicky and Lamont, you can find Vicky on Facebook and Instagram under the name Victoria Childers. That's all for this week's show. Would you like to be featured in an upcoming episode of The Workamper Show? I encourage you to schedule an interview with me at workampershow.com. We'd love to hear about your Workamping experiences, how you got started RVing, and what you love and dislike about the RVing lifestyle. Help others explore all the different ways to live this great lifestyle by sharing your story. If you are an employer of Workampers,we invite you to be on the podcast, too. Share all of the details of your Workamping jobs in a future episode. It only costs a little bit of your time. Schedule an interview with me today by going to workampershow.com. You'll find the schedule buttons at the bottom of the home page. I will have another fun interview on the next episode of The Workamper Show. Thanks for listening!
What intellectual and social paradigms have made atheism seem like a plausible and viable alternative worldview in the 21st century? What factors have contributed to the cultural dissolution of the Christian faith in our time? On the next two episodes of the Profile, we will tackle some of these questions with our guest, author and teaching fellow of the Davenant Institute in Landrum, South Carolina, Dr. Joseph Minich. Minich's 2023 book Bulwarks of Unbelief - Atheism and Divine Absence in a Secular Age explores the thesis that the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century has created intellectual and social plausibility structures for modern-day unbelief. From the Davenant Institute Dr. Joseph Minich Dr. (PhD, The University of Texas at Dallas) is Faculty Chair and Professor of Philosophy at Davenant Hall. As part of his work, he also co-hosts the Pilgrim Faith podcast. The founding editor of Ad Fontes and former Editor-in-Chief of the Davenant Press, he is the author of Enduring Divine Absence (Davenant Press, 2018) and Bulwarks of Unbelief: Atheism and Divine Absence in a Secular Age (Lexham Press, 2023).
