What’s your favorite scary movie? Hosts Katie Cullen, Megan Salinas, and Alexis Torres and Voltron season writer Mitch Iverson talk in depth about Voltron season 7 episodes 5 and 6: The Ruins and The Journey Within! The Ruins takes us to a deserted planet where one of the last remaining druids sets a trap for the remaining Blades of Marmora and manages to catch the Paladins (and also, the wolf’s name is Kosmo, because that is Important). The Journey Within takes the paladins on a quasi-hallucinatory journey, where they’re lost in space and must stick together to survive, regardless of how they feel about it. Also, the hosts discuss the methods by which Druids are made and whether or not they correlate to Scientology. The hosts receive a gift from fan of the show PrincessPonies (yay!) and say goodbye to our Blue Lion Alexis Torres (aww). We’ll miss her! Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast

This podcast is our COMPLETE coverage of Voltron at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2018. Marc shares everything that happened at SDCC with Greg, who is hearing it for the first time, including interviews with Bex Taylor-Klaus, Jeremy Shada, Rhys Darby, Josh Hamilton, Lauren Montgomery, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kyle Anderson. Also, we cover the Voltron panel, signings, SDCC exclusives, and we are excited to announce the winner of the Voltron Season 6 Prize Pack, and introduce a new SDCC Voltron Prize Pack and how to enter to win it! One of the first things we talk about is an announcement made for a Voltron book coming in 2019 by Andrew Farago, who had Original Voltron Director Franklin Cofod on a panel called Totally Awesome: The Greatest Cartoons of the 80's. His Voltron book will be called Voltron: The Ultimate Visual History, published by Insight Editions in 2019. Of course, we will have Andrew on the podcast when that book is released! Of course, we know you all want to hear about the interviews we had with the Cast and Crew of Voltron Legendary Defender! So, in addition to hearing them on the podcast, you can also WATCH them on our YouTube Channel! Here is the link to each interview: Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Jeremy Shada (Lance) - https://youtu.be/EsIjNl4ZTYg Rhys Darby (Coran) and Josh Hamilton (Story Editor) - https://youtu.be/DVZiADaPyvw Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) - https://youtu.be/o9MGSRAL2so And... as an added special bonus, we have an interview with the Moderator of the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC, the Associate Editor at Nerdist, and the Host of a brand new VLD Episode Commentary Podcast called FORM PODCAST - Kyle Anderson - https://youtu.be/3O5NG2EQ58E We also wanted to mention that Voltron Legendary Defender's Legendary Voice Director Andrea Romano was brought out of retirement to do an episode commentary for Form Podcast, but Marc was also able to interview Andrea, because she was also brought back for the Batman: The Animated Series Panel at SDCC. We were so happy to talk to Andrea Romano again!! Also, we covered the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC and the signings of both the cast and crew at the autograph area AND Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson at the Lion Forge Booth for the Voltron Legendary Defender Comics, Vol 3, Issue 1 SDCC Exclusive Variant Cover! There were also SDCC Voltron Exclusives for: LEGO Ideas Voltron, which we covered in our last podcast, but can't help talking about AGAIN, because it's so awesome!!!! Don't forget, EVERYONE can get their own LEGO Ideas Voltron on August 1, 2018 at Shop.LEGO.com or at ANY LEGO Store in the world! Playmates Toys Hyperphase Voltron, which is a beautiful set I picked up at the Entertainment Earth booth! Bandai Super MiniPla Voltron Model Set with the exclusive Blazing Sword! Han Cholo Classic Voltron Membership Kit and VLD Enamel Pins, Blue Lion Ring and Bayard Pendants! Here are some of our pictures from everything we mentioned here: We were so excited about the announcements for Season 7 being 13 episodes, coming to Netflix on August 10, and that the remaining 13-episode drop will occur before the end of this year, so we are thinking December, but don't quote us! And it is certainly cool that we will have a complete 78-episode Voltron story on Netflix , we will be sad when it is all over, because it is such an amazing series. We want to thank the whole cast and crew of Voltron Legendary Defender at DreamWorks Animation, all the animators at Studio Mir, and all the people at Universal, DreamWorks, Team Click and Netflix who have allowed us to cover everything for Voltron. Thank you! On our next podcast, we'll be reviewing episodes 2, 3 and 4 of Season 6 of Voltron Legendary Defender with K-Lionheart, who designed Dungeons and Voltron for us when she appeared on the podcast as our Voltron Fan Artist Spotlight. The next podcast after that, we'll be reviewing episodes 5, 6 and 7 of Season 6 of Voltron Legendary Defender with Donya Abramo, writer for Hypable, and a podcast veteran herself. Dani DeWald, Voltron Superfan and panel videographer at SDCC, joins Marc and Greg to review her coverage of the Voltron Legendary Defender panel at San Diego Comic-Con. We walk through the entire panel, and give commentary on all the clips, Q & A, and review the Season 1 Soundtrack that was recently released on iTunes. Plus, you need to listen closely to find out how to win variant cover copies of Voltron Legendary Defender #1 Comic, signed by authors Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson. The DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) included panelists Joaquim Dos Santos (Executive Producer), Lauren Montgomery (C0-Executive Producer), and Tim Hedrick (Head Writer). A surprise panelist was added, which makes the audience go crazy! Steven Yeun, who plays Keith, Voltron paladin and pilot of Red Lion, was on the panel and shared his perspective of Season 1 of Voltron Legendary Defender. During the panel review, one of the Q & A questions was if we'd ever hear the original Voltron theme from 1984 used in the new show. Legally, they can't use the original theme in this show, and the producers let the audience know that you will not be hearing the original theme music in this show. So, now that this question is definitively laid to rest, let's celebrate the music of the first season of Voltron Legendary Defender, which is now available as a digital download on iTunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dreamworks-voltron-legendary/id1133408932 Thank you to the creator of the Voltron Legendary Defender theme, Alex Geringas, and the show's musical composers, Brad Breeck and Brian Parkhurst, for this wonderful album of music compiled from the first season of our favorite show on Netflix. Would you like to win 2 variant copies of Lion Forge's Voltron Legendary Defender #1 Comic Book, signed by authors Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson? Greg and Marc interview World Events Productions President Bob Koplar, where they talk about Voltron: Legendary Defender, WonderCon, DreamWorks Animation, LEGO, Stephen Colbert, Deadpool, Lion Forge Comics, answer fan questions, and much more. Bob Koplar has great things to say about the work that DreamWorks Animation has put into developing and launching Voltron: Legendary Defender, coming to Netflix on June 10, and what this means for WEP, the property owner of Voltron. In addition to answering fan questions about the new show, Bob talks about some other current events occurring with Voltron. First off, there's a new 5-issue comic book mini-series coming out in July from Lion Forge Comics, entitled Voltron: Legendary Defender, which is a story supplement to the DreamWorks Animation show, and it's written by Story Editor Tim Hedrick and episode writer Mitch Iverson. To read more about the launch of this comic book series, check out the exclusive story from Comic Book Resources (CBR): http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/voltron-legendary-defender-comes-to-comics-at-lion-forge Here are the cover images mentioned in the article: Marc also mentions The Late Show with Stephen Colbert which had a segment called "Friday Night Fights", with guest Thomas Lennon (The Odd Couple), who took the side of Gandalf and Optimus Prime Vs. Stephen's team of Dumbledore and Voltron. You can see the video for that matchup here: http://www.ew.com/article/2016/04/23/late-show-stephen-colbert-friday-night-fights-gandalf-dumbledore One of the biggest Voltron stories to come out lately is the LEGO Ideas project started by len_d69, who is looking for 10,000 supporters for his Voltron LEGO set design. He is currently at 9,524 supporters and he needs your help to get him over the line. You can support the Voltron LEGO set here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/138271 Here are a few images from that LEGO set: We hope you enjoyed this podcast episode. Thanks for listening!
