On this week's episode of The Flash Podcast,  Andy, Tatiana, Breeze, and Lacy get together to revisit Barry Allen's introduction in the Arrowverse that set up The Flash. Before becoming the fastest man alive, Barry had his two-episode arc on Arrow, that set up his iconic journey as one of the Arrowverse's greatest superheroes. Join the gang as they do episode commentaries on Arrow season 2, episodes 8 and 9, "The Scientist" and "Three Ghosts" respectively! That and more on this week's episode of The Flash Podcast! "The Scientist" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, V) (HDTV) BARRY ALLEN COMES TO STARLING CITY - A seemingly impossible robbery at Queen Consolidated's Applied Sciences Division brings Central City police scientist Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) to town. Citing a similar case back home, Barry offers to help Oliver (Stephen Amell) and team with the investigation. Oliver senses there is more to Barry than meets the eye, but he's distracted by the similarities between this current case and something that happened on the island. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) takes a liking to Barry, which doesn't go unnoticed by Oliver. Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus) asks Roy (Colton Haynes) for help when a friend of hers goes missing. Roy is surprised when Thea (Willa Holland) not only encourages him to help, but joins the search. Unfortunately, Sin's friend is connected to Brother Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro), and their search ultimately gets one of them seriously injured. Michael Schultz directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Geoff Johns (#208). "Three Ghosts" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV) OLIVER IS VISITED BY GHOSTS FROM THE PAST - After a fight with Cyrus Gold AKA the Acolyte (guest star Graham Shiels), Oliver (Stephen Amell) is drugged and left for dead. Determined to cure him, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) makes a risky decision. The cure causes Oliver to hallucinate, and what he sees forces him to confront his past. Meanwhile, Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) continues to help Felicity, and their connection grows stronger. The Arrow asks Lance (Paul Blackthorne) to look into Gold, but when the stakeout on Gold goes bad, someone is killed. Roy (Colton Haynes) is captured and tortured by Brother Blood (guest star Kevin Alejandro). John Behring directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Geoff Johns & Ben Sokolowski (#209). I have been wanting to have Bex Taylor-Klaus on the podcast ever since I decided Life in the And was going to be a thing. Bex - the eldest child of previous guests Elaine and David Taylor-Klaus - is someone whom you may know from their role as Sin in CW's Arrow, Audrey in MTV's Scream, the voice of Pidge in Voltron: Legendary Defenders, or as the non-binary Deputy Brianna Bishop in Fox's procedural drama, Deputy. An “Accidental AND,” Bex is a non-binary individual - an identity that we all need to talk more about in society. In this episode, Bex and I explore what it means to be non-binary and what it looks like in Hollywood. We illustrate Bex's experience with gender & identity as a child and how they discovered the non-binary identity. We elaborate on the non-binary identity's characteristic as a spectrum and explain why it's not about being “in the middle.” We emphasize the importance of letting people know that they are not alone and underscore the power of standing in your truth and speaking it. “You are who you are. This was recorded back in May of 2017, and was our test episode for Fuzzy Logic, the very first thing we ever recorded. It’s also the last episode of Fuzzy Logic. I cannot express just how incredible it was to get to make this show with so many people I care about. Hellfest is a traveling horror night that rolls into town and a group of friends get VIP passes to go and enjoy the spooks. Think of it as a haunted house that covers an entire theme park. Little do they know that hidden among the park employees is a masked killer that picks off visitors that aren’t scared. Hellfest is Directed by Gregory Plotkin, and I feel he took a huge Plotkin on the slasher genre. Plotkin has spent most of his career as an editor, most notably Second assistant editor on Weekend at Bernies 2, as well as Get Out, and Paranormal Activities 2-5. His only other feature length film directing credit is Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. It stars Amy Forsyth as Natalie, the protagonist returning home from school to visit her grade school BFF Brooke played by the distractingly beautiful Reign Edwards. Along for the ride and generally being an annoying presence is Taylor played by Bex Taylor-Klaus. Each one has an arbitrary boyfriend to accompany them to the park that might as well be nameless for all the character development that they get. Want to Watch Hellfest? Click This Text to Watch it on Amazon! Check Out Our Review of Evil Dead (2013) https://www.horrormovietalk.com/2019/05/01/evil-dead-2013-review/ The film suffers from terrible dialogue and annoyingly vapid characters. The cast overacts like they are in a Disney channel show, to the point where I actually welcomed their deaths. The setups for the murders are unbelievable even for horror standards, and waste opportunities to take advantage of the unique premise. There are a few good death scenes, but on the whole it falls flat. My Rating 4/10 I originally gave it a 3, but because it had a head explosion, it gets an extra point. Spoilers: The Rundown My main gripe with Hellfest is that there is an inherent flaw in some of the death scenes. The park is stuffed to the gills with visitors and employees. The characters even need a VIP pass to skip the massive lines. Even with the VIP pass, there are lines. EXCEPT when the killer is chasing them! Check Out Our Review Of The Ruins! https://www.horrormovietalk.com/2019/05/08/the-ruins-movie-review/ At one point they are running away from the killer, but get distracted by the spoopy scares from the maze. They take a leisurely 10 seconds to pause and look at the room. There is no animatronic that can compete with the actual possibility of murder. Even when they get to a room with a bunch of reaching out hands, they freak out instead of, you know...asking for help from the people attached to those reaching hands. There could have been several ways that the writers or director could have addressed these chase scenes creatively. Just a few off of the top of my head: The park is in cahoots, and is an accomplice to the murderer The park employees hear the screams, but decide among themselves that it is just a normal patron being scared The killer could have killed any employee trying to help them One of the park employees reaches out to help the girls, but it ends up being the killer without the mask. The capper to the movie is a lame and predictable epilogue that for some reason tries for one last scare the second after it undercuts the premise. The killer goes home to a generic suburban home and hangs up his mask before going inside and hugging his daughter. For some reason the director was trying to make it seem like the girl was in danger, but… we are already shown that he lives there. Is Hellfest Worth Watching? I can't recommend seeing Hell Fest in theaters, but it might be worth watching at home when it gets to Netflix. Even then, you will probably enjoy making fun of it with friends more than actually watching it for scares. Tell us what you think about Hellfest Did you see Hell Fest? What did you think? Have you ever seen a movie that had a distractingly implausible premise for getting trapped by a killer? Leave your comments below. Also,

Here's his quote: "Let’s go Voltron Force! I cannot put into words how much this model means to me. When it hit 10k votes, I started working on models to try and prove that we could do something like this. Now, almost 2 years later, it’s really happening! I have Samuel Johnson to thank for fighting to allow me to work on this project and Lendy for getting it to 10k with his awesome model. From the very beginning, the consensus was that we could not make this as a LEGO product, so it was my job to prove people wrong. To kick reason to the curb and do the impossible! By not giving up and continuing to smash our heads into the wall, we made it possible. Crucial points in a mech this size are the joints. Most of the development time on this product was relentlessly churning out shoulder and elbow joints just to have them be rejected for any number of reasons by our rigorous quality department. I went through at least 30 different shoulder builds and about 20 full iterations of Voltron in designing this model. As a fan-builder myself, I was eager to get some good recolors into this set for people that like to build their own stuff, like the ingot and a whole host of drum lacquered pieces! This set also features a number of decorations, my favorite being the 2x2 grey tile with mechanical detail. This was designed to be a perfect fit, but also a good element to be used in your own creations as a finishing touch. Graphic designer Mark Tranter did a fantastic job. I really hope you will enjoy building this model, I poured my heart and soul into making this a reality!" Thanks to Shamus, Blacky, Nigel, Shannon, Kevin, Dani, Eric, Jody, and Kim for that wonderful time with friends! Greg gives us an update on Playmates Toys for Voltron Legendary Defender. We appreciate everything Voltron, and although Voltron Legendary Defender is the freshest Voltron out there (100% on Rotten Tomatoes), we want to share something from Days of Long Ago or maybe not so long ago, with respect to Voltron. This segment will share our thoughts on something cool and interesting from the Voltron Universe. In this podcast, we talk about how different the first episode of Beast King GoLion is compared to that episode edited for Voltron: Defender of the Universe when it first aired in 1984. The stories for the Japanese GoLion are vastly different from the American Voltron, despite using most of the same animation. Hear Greg and Marc's thoughts about these in this podcast. There will be lots of commentary around everything that happened during the panel, and we'll conclude with a few things that happened at WonderCon, other than the panel, and give you info on how to enter to win a signed lithograph from all 8 participants of the panel. Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) announced that Season 3 is coming, but no specific date is set yet. There are two clips about Prince Lotor. The first is an April Fools joke played on the audience. The second is a clip that shows images of Galra forces, with an audio overlay of Prince Lotor talking. So, the audience was able to hear Lotor's voice, but we haven't seen the character, nor do we know who the voice actor is that plays him. The moderator announced several things that were coming up for Voltron Legendary Defender, including a mash-up collaboaration with online game, Puzzle and Dragons (available now), a Kids Meal Promotion with special Voltron Legendary Defender toys at Burger King (available now), Pidge's Birthday on April 3rd with a special Facebook LIVE Q&A with Bex Taylor-Klaus, the Voltron84 release of 12 hand-picked episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe on Netflix (available now), Sticker Packs for IOS (iPhone/iPad iMessage app), where you can send stickers to your friends through text messages, and a new mini-series of Voltron Legendary Defender Comics is coming from Lion Forge Comics on Wednesday, April 26th.
