Send us a textOn the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are teaming up to prevent an immortal madman from killing loads of innocent people. We watched the 2012 film from Lauren Montgomery, Justice League: Doom. This film presents one of the great moral questions of our time: is Batman right to keep secret tabs on all the other superpowered heroes in the Justice League? Or is he a jackass for even trying? No one would blame him for doing that with the scores of baddies they all face. That's just good hero-ing. But with Superman? Wonder Woman? This is the sort of question that's liable to keep a person up at night (and should be taught in philosophy classes).Listen on to hear how we feel. Also there's a lot of marveling (no pun intended) about this excellent film. Lauren gives a behind-the-scenes scoop on a couple animal hybrids that didn't quite make the cut, and shares her very surprising favorite ship from the Avatarverse (you're seriously never going to guess who it is). We hear Dante's FIRE rec for the best tea in Ba Sing Se, then he and Janet try their hands at drawing and interpreting some character shorthand. When did you notice the connection between your diet and the way you feel? Lauren Montgomery aka Monty, the founder of Monty's, grew up on the Standard American Diet (SAD). She battled anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphia, but she never connected the dots that her diet was impacting her mental health. Lauren cycled between being a hardcore vegan and a pescatarian until she settled on a plant-based, whole food, and dairy-free diet. Today, she promotes bio-individuality and finding the diet that works for you. Her business, Monty's, creates clean, cultured cashew cream cheese and plant-based butter in NYC. Lauren believes plant-based butter is not just for vegans – it's for everyone who wants simple, healthy, and delicious food. But running a business without preservatives comes with its challenges. In this episode, Jen talks with Lauren about how she created her plant-based dairy essentials, became a health coach, and founded Monty's. Key Takeaways [00:50] - A brief intro to Lauren and Monty's. [02:23] - How Lauren's entrepreneurial family influenced her to create Monty's. [04:53] - Lauren's diet. [06:00] - Lauren's thoughts on conventional dairy products. [08:17] - How Lauren found alternative cheeses. [09:43] - Lauren's journey as a health coach. [10:58] - Lauren's restaurant experience with inflammatory ingredients. [13:00] - How Monty's started. [13:55] - Monty's clean ingredients and shelf life. [17:25] - Monty's products. [18:32] - Laurens's biggest challenges and successes in business. [20:01] - Where to find Monty's. [20:58] - Lauren's Wake Up moment. Quotes [06:48] - “A lot of grocery store products are precarious in general but so many plant-based products, dairy butter alternatives, that try to emulate the texture and taste of real dairy, add a lot of highly processed, inflammatory oils, gums, natural flavors, and preservatives.” ~ Lauren Montgomery [19:28] - “I just started doing farmer's markets in LA. And I have, you know, people coming up to me and being like, I eat your butter every day. It changed my life and you're a part of my daily habits. And, to me, that's everything, you know, that's why I'm doing this. I'm not doing this for monetary gain or anything else.” ~ Lauren Montgomery [19:46] - “I really want people to have a delicious dairy-free option that's clean and makes them feel amazing and is really a part of their daily life to make it better.” ~ Lauren Montgomery Links Lauren Montgomery LinkedIn Monty's Monty's Instagram Connect with our host Jen on Instagram Jen on Facebook Wake Up and Read the Labels! Today on the podcast we have a lovely conversation with Lauren Montgomery. Lauren is a Certified Health Coach, Health Supportive Chef, and Founder of Monty’s, a plant-based brand dedicated to creating delicious, clean and craveable plant-based essentials, starting with cream cheese and butter. Lauren founded Monty’s on an overall wellness mission to create insanely delicious, plant-based alternatives to some of our favorite essential foods, without compromising outstanding taste. After Lauren discovered her passion for plant-based nutrient-dense foods, she began to invest her time in working in restaurants, visiting nut farms, and testing out cashew cheese recipes on friends, family, and every dinner party she was invited to. In 2018, Lauren developed the perfectly delicious and creamy recipe of Monty’s cream cheese and butter that instantly became a favorite across New York City restaurants, health stores, and specialty retailers. Monty’s recently launched their online shop and now ships direct to consumers nationwide. We have been fortunate to try Lauren’s delicious cream cheese and butters and were so impressed with the taste and the ingredients. We are especially big fans of the butter! Through Monty’s, Lauren continues spreading the message that indulging in our favorite essentials made from nutritious, clean, plant-based ingredients can lead to living a more healthful, vibrant and beautiful life. We have a wonderful conversation about Monty’s products and Lauren’s journey. hope you enjoy the episode! Our Voltron friends, Dana, Rye and Todd join Marc and Greg to review the first episode of Season 8 of Voltron Legendary Defender, Launch Date. Dana, who lives in Tennessee, recently had lost all of her possessions in a fire at her family's home. This was a devastating loss for Dana. Here are some pictures of the house after the fire and the area that used to be Dana's bedroom: There is a GoFundMe page setup to help support Dana's family and their efforts to recover from this tragedy with their most immediate needs. They have not reached the GoFundMe goal yet, so please provide help if you can to a very special Voltron fan and her family at this link: https://www.gofundme.com/support-lewis-and-missy-hall Dana's best friend, Rye, who lives in South Carolina, knew that Dana had lost a lot of personal items with sentimental value, including a lot of art, signed posters and other special items she had bought at various conventions that Rye and Dana attended together over the years. One item, in particular, was a Voltron poster that Dana had signed by many of the voice actors and crew from Voltron Legendary Defender that she had collected at several conventions. Rye, without Dana knowing, had reached out to us on Twitter DM and asked if there was any way to connect with DreamWorks Animation to see if there was a way to get something signed and sent to Dana. We contacted Seth Fowler at DreamWorks PR, letting him know about the fire that destroyed Dana's signed poster, and asked if they could help Rye get something signed for her friend, Dana. It just so happened that THAT very night, the DreamWorks Animation group had planned a cast and crew party to celebrate the final season of Voltron Legendary Defender. Within a week, a signed poster of the combined lithographs of all the Voltron Legendary Defender characters, which was signed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Josh Keaton, Kimberly Brooks, Neil Kaplan, AJ LoCascio, and more of the cast and crew that were at the party that night, was on its way to Dana's boyfriend's house, where Dana was staying. Rye had given the address to Seth so it would be a surprise to Dana. Here are the pictures Dana shared on Twitter when she received that package: A huge THANK YOU to DreamWorks, the cast and crew of Voltron Legendary Defender, and everyone involved in getting this signed poster to Dana. And of course, this would have never been possible without Rye, who not only initiated the communication to get her best friend something that meant a lot to her, but introduced Dana to Voltron Legendary Defender in the first place. You'll hear all of these stories and more, as Dana and Rye joined us to help review Launch Date, the first episode of Season 8 of Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix. Dana is on Twitter: @danahall26 Rye is on Twitter: @yauilla Todd Matthy also joined us for this episode review podcast. Todd has been on the podcast previously, as well. Drawing for Line Tickets to be held Saturday at 9:00 am in the Autograph Area. Take a look at the poster: Yesterday, it was announced that LEGO Ideas Voltron 21311 Set will be available to buy on August 1, 2018! We had LEGO Ideas Designer Lendy Tayag on our podcast to talk all about when his design hit 10,000 supporters (http://www.letsvoltron.com/58) and when his design had been approved to have the set go into production (http://www.letsvoltron.com/107) Here is a quote from LEGO Designer Niek Duco van Slagmaat, who's task it was to turn Lendy's design into an actual product that can be assembled using instructions provided in the set. Here's his quote: "Let’s go Voltron Force! I cannot put into words how much this model means to me. When it hit 10k votes, I started working on models to try and prove that we could do something like this. Now, almost 2 years later, it’s really happening! I have Samuel Johnson to thank for fighting to allow me to work on this project and Lendy for getting it to 10k with his awesome model. From the very beginning, the consensus was that we could not make this as a LEGO product, so it was my job to prove people wrong. To kick reason to the curb and do the impossible! By not giving up and continuing to smash our heads into the wall, we made it possible. Crucial points in a mech this size are the joints. Most of the development time on this product was relentlessly churning out shoulder and elbow joints just to have them be rejected for any number of reasons by our rigorous quality department. I went through at least 30 different shoulder builds and about 20 full iterations of Voltron in designing this model. As a fan-builder myself, I was eager to get some good recolors into this set for people that like to build their own stuff, like the ingot and a whole host of drum lacquered pieces! This set also features a number of decorations, my favorite being the 2x2 grey tile with mechanical detail. This was designed to be a perfect fit, but also a good element to be used in your own creations as a finishing touch. Graphic designer Mark Tranter did a fantastic job. I really hope you will enjoy building this model, I poured my heart and soul into making this a reality!" Here are the details about this wonderful new LEGO Ideas 21311 Voltron Set: Features 5 buildable and posable lions that can be transformed and combined to create the giant Voltron super robot. Play with the lions individually or combine them using extra-strong joints to form Voltron—the black lion forms the head and torso; the red and green lions form the arms; and the yellow and blue lions form the legs. Pose the head, shoulders, arms and wrists of Voltron (legs are not posable). Also includes a sword and shield (each with silver-colored elements) that attach firmly to Voltron’s hands. Includes a booklet with building instructions, plus information about the set’s fan creator and super force of LEGO® designers. This set includes over 2,321 pieces. Display or play out exciting stories from the original 1980s animated Voltron TV series and the modern DreamWorks Voltron: Legendary Defender series. Voltron measures over 15” (40cm) high, 5” (14cm) long and 8” (21cm) wide. Black lion measures over 6” (17cm) high, 8” (22cm) long and 5” (15cm) wide. Yellow and blue lions each measure over 3” (8cm) high, 8” (21cm) long and 3” (8cm) wide. Green and red lions each measure over 3” (8cm) high, 7” (18cm) long and 1” (5cm) wide. Marc and Kim Morrell covered all the Voltron events at New York Comic Con 2017 (NYCC), including the Voltron Legendary Defender Pre-Panel with Mark Daniel, the Panel, interviews with the cast and producers, Voltron on the LIVE stage, and the signings and Voltron fan meetup. There were also exhibit hall booths we visited, like Han Cholo, Lion Forge, and Simon & Schuster, as well as artists on the show floor and artist alley. In this podcast, we share it all with Greg, who wasn't able to go, and all the Voltron fans around the world that couldn't make it to NYCC. There is a lot to cover at New York Comic Con, especially when it comes to Voltron Legendary Defender, the greatest show on Netflix, and any device anywhere! And it all started with the Voltron Legendary Defender Cast and Crew Autograph Signings at Table 21 of the Autograph Hall on Friday, Oct 6, 2017. This wonderful lithograph designed by Lauren Montgomery was signed for every Voltron Fan in line. Here's what we had signed, and some of those pictures: On Saturday, Voltron Fans lined up to get into the panel early, and we saw some great cosplay in line. Here are some of those pics: Then, people were allowed to enter the Main Stage at NYCC, and take their seats for the 11 AM Voltron Legendary Defender Season 4 Panel. Mark Daniel was the Master of Ceremonies for the Pre-Panel Show and he was absolutely great with all the Voltron fans. He brought all the people up to the front who had cosplayed as Voltron characters, and they proceeded to do the first ever LIONWALK at NYCC. Then, he asked Let's Voltron Podcast Host Marc Morrell to come up on stage and they talked all about Season 4, Voltron Merch at NYCC and elsewhere, and they plugged the podcast. Both of them were wearing their Let's Voltron Podcast Five to Thrive Shirts, designed by Zilla (@beanyzilla). Big Thanks to Mark Daniel for all the Let's Voltron LOVE! Here are some pics from that Pre-Panel Show: We made a video of the Pre-Panel Show for people who weren't able to see that from the LIVE Collider YouTube stream from the panel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjGEB5IcOio Now, the panel did not disappoint Voltron fans, who were looking for glimpses into Season 4, as there were several clips from Season 4 played for the audience during the panel. Here are some of the pics from the panel: After the panel, we had interviews with the cast and producers of Voltron Legendary Defender. Those interviews are available on our YouTube Channel at: Cast (AJ LoCascio, Josh Keaton and Kimberly Brooks) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6YALGzYu4A Producers (Joaquim Dos Santos & Lauren Montgomery) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABlLw2w_lEk Here are some great pics from all around the exhibit hall floor, artist alley and more: We also had a chance to greet other great Voltron fans at the Voltron fan meetup at 4 PM on Saturday, which was a blast, and included a LOT of group cosplay photos, including these: We want to thank ALL of the Voltron fans that we met at NYCC. Your passion for this awesome franchise is OFF THE CHARTS! We also want to thank DreamWorks, Netflix, Universal, Mark Daniel, Han Cholo, Lion Forge, Simon & Schuster, Sideshow Collectibles, Alex Milne, Terry Huddleston, Naomi Romero, Elentori, Donya Abramo, Cheetoy, Mark Oliver, Seth Green, Clare Grant, Brandon Schoolhouse, Gian Norte, Josh Keaton, Kimberly Brooks, AJ LoCascio, Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Seth Fowler, Ryan Bradley, Emily Leibert, ReedPop Staff, BER, Warner Bros, Gary Miereanu, DC, Alan Tudyk, and many more people we can't remember at this moment. If you'd like to follow AJ on Twitter, he's @AJLoCascio or aj_locascio on Instagram For the second half of our coverage of SDCC, we called on Shannon Muir to join us, who, with her husband Keven, joined Marc and his wife KIm at Whiskey Girl in San Diego for the Comic-Concert, featuring Random Gibberish and their new hit song, "Hear Me Roar", being played LIVE for the first time ever. You'll get to hear that performance in this podcast! In this podcast, Marc & Greg, Shambavi, Shamus, and Dani review interviews with Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Bex Taylor-Klaus, and Tyler Labine, who all participated in a panel where the audience was pleased to see Episode 1 of Season 3 of Voltron Legendary Defender at San Diego Comic-Con 2017! 2 Lucky Winners of Voltron SDCC Prize Packs are announced as well! We couldn't wait to talk about everything Voltron that happened at San Diego Comic-Con, and since Greg was not able to attend, he is experiencing the whole story, interviews, panel and all, just like the listeners of this podcast. But while Marc (and his wife Kim), Shambhavi, Shamus, and Dani were all in San Diego, Greg was creating his own magic, putting together a great video review of the Voltron Legendary Defender Metal Defender Series Diecast Lions Set. You can watch Greg's very thorough review on our YouTube Channel! Here are some pics from our trip to San Diego Comic-Con: We also announced the 2 winners of a Voltron SDCC Prize Pack. Each prize pack has 8 prizes, including the previously mentioned Voltron Legendary Defender Metal Defender Series Diecast Lions Set, 2 Voltron Legendary Defender Chapter Books from Simon & Schuster, a signed lithograph of Season 2 characters, signed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Bex Taylor-Klaus, and Tyler Labine, 2 Let's Voltron stickers signed by 1 of the 4 cast and crew just mentioned, a large Voltron poster from Lion Forge Comics, a Voltron hand-held mask, and a Voltron poster from Toys-R-Us. You won't see the winners' names here - you'll have to listen to the podcast to see if you were announced as a winner. On July 28th, to celebrate Lance's birthday, Jeremy Shada was interviewed on Facebook LIVE for a Q&A, where he answered fan questions, had some donut cake, saw some fan art that fans had made for Lance, and received a set of the Voltron Legendary Defender Metal Defender Series Lions from Playmates Toys. Here's a few pictures from that event: On our next podcast, we are happy to announce we will be interviewing the newest cast member of Voltron Legendary Defender, the voice of Prince Lotor, AJ LoCascio. Don't forget to watch ALL NEW Voltron Legendary Defender Season 3 Episodes starting this Friday, August 4th on Netflix!! In the wake of Zarkon’s defeat and Shiro’s disappearance, the paladins struggle to move forward with no one able to pilot the black lion or the ability to form Voltron. The team must quickly devise a plan as the ascension of Prince Lotor and his generals pulls the team into a perilous game of cat-and-mouse that tests their unity and abilities more than ever before. Here's a brand new trailer to get you excited for FRIDAY on Netflix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy6BXq0Pg6A&feature=youtu.be Finally, we want to honor a very special person who just announced she's retiring: Voltron Legendary Defender Voice Director Andrea Romano. Her retirement was announced in a story that was released by IGN. Marc and Greg had the amazing fortune to watch Andrea Romano working her magic at a recording session last April, just before WonderCon 2017. To see the legendary Andrea Romano directing world class voice actors like Jeremy Shada and Kimberly Brooks at a sound studio in Burbank, CA was a dream come true, and has now become a major highlight in our lives. Marc has also had the pleasure of interviewing Andrea Romano several times at red carpet events and conventions over the last 7 years.

Irene Fernández joins Marc and Greg to review Voltron Legendary Defender Season 2, Episode 5: Eye of the Storm. And Marc and Greg find out that Irene has a lot of real-life experiences that match with what the characters are going through in this episode. After the episode review, Marc and Greg preview episode 100 of the podcast, and let fans know how they can be on it, and win Voltron Swag! People who have listened to the podcast will remember we interviewed Irene at the Voltron Collective Party at NYCC back in October of 2016. This time, you get to hear Irene clearly, without all the background music playing, and you'll learn she's just full of interesting tidbits that really help in the review of "Eye of the Storm", especially that she's actually lived through hurricanes in her native Puerto Rico. We had a lot of fun going through Coran having the 'slipperies', Pidge learning Altean, Keith and Lance's visit to the pool, and Hunk making Scaultrite cookies. Here are some screenshots from "Eye of the Storm": Our next podcast episode will be our 100th podcast for Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast!! Marc and Greg review the 4th episode in the 2nd season of Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix: Greening the Cube. We are introduced to the Olkari, who help Pidge gain a greater bond with Green Lion, and in a sub-plot, Keith seems to have something on his mind that he hasn't told anyone on the team. We enjoyed reviewing this episode because it really showcases Pidge, and her unique abilities, and we learn a new power for Green Lion. Keith seems to have his arms folded throughout the entire episode, but we all know what's on his mind. It was nice to see that we are all made of the same cosmic dust, and it harkens to the mission of Voltron, the coming together to defend the universe from evil. Now that the Olkari and Voltron are allies, it will enable Voltron to be better prepared to take on Emperor Zarkon, when the time comes. Here are some screenshots from the episode: And here is a doodle of Ryner shared by Co-Executive Producer Lauren Montgomery on her Twitter account: Doodled a Ryner then used #paintschainer to fill it in. That program is crazy!!!#VoltronLegendaryDefender pic.twitter.com/xkAIOofRDX— Lauren Montgomery (@ArtOfLaurenM) May 26, 2017 Now that you've heard our review, we welcome your thoughts and we'd love to hear your perspective on the episode. WonderCon attendee Nicole(Das_Hazel on Twitter) joins Marc and Greg to cover the Voltron Legendary Defender panel that occurred on Sat., April 1, 2017. You'll hear the complete audio from the panel, captured by our friend, Dani DeWald. There will be lots of commentary around everything that happened during the panel, and we'll conclude with a few things that happened at WonderCon, other than the panel, and give you info on how to enter to win a signed lithograph from all 8 participants of the panel. During the Voltron Legendary Defender panel, each of the voice actors, Tyler Labine (Hunk), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge), Josh Keaton (Shiro), Kimberly Brooks (Allura), and Jeremy Shada (Lance), talked about their character's story arc and how it may have changed from Season 1 to Season 2, and all the panelists show clips from their favorite moments from Season 2. Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) announced that Season 3 is coming, but no specific date is set yet. There are two clips about Prince Lotor. The first is an April Fools joke played on the audience. The second is a clip that shows images of Galra forces, with an audio overlay of Prince Lotor talking. So, the audience was able to hear Lotor's voice, but we haven't seen the character, nor do we know who the voice actor is that plays him. The moderator announced several things that were coming up for Voltron Legendary Defender, including a mash-up collaboaration with online game, Puzzle and Dragons (available now), a Kids Meal Promotion with special Voltron Legendary Defender toys at Burger King (available now), Pidge's Birthday on April 3rd with a special Facebook LIVE Q&A with Bex Taylor-Klaus, the Voltron84 release of 12 hand-picked episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe on Netflix (available now), Sticker Packs for IOS (iPhone/iPad iMessage app), where you can send stickers to your friends through text messages, and a new mini-series of Voltron Legendary Defender Comics is coming from Lion Forge Comics on Wednesday, April 26th. There rest of the panel was a Q&A session for fans to ask questions, and for each person that asked a question, Head Writer Tim Hedrick gave out signed story cards used to develop the actual episodes from the show. Marc and Greg also talked about their Griffith Observatory visit, where Emily Eiden (voice of Shay) works, the Hollywood sign, and a dinner with podcast guest Shannon Muir, her husband Kevin, Dani DeWald and Shambhavi Kadam, Marc's wife Kim, and Greg and Marc. If you listen to the end of the podcast, you'll hear how you can enter into a raffle to win a signed lithograph of Blade of Marmora Keith, designed by Joaquim Dos Santos and signed by all 8 people who were on the panel. As Always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!
Marc and Greg talk about their trip to WonderCon 2017, including a visit to a recording studio to see Andrea Romano directing a Voltron Legendary Defender recording session with Jeremy Shada and Kimberly Brooks. Cast and crew were signing autographs and we had interviews with all of them. Also, there was plenty of cosplay, Voltron art, and much, much more! We have lots of stories to tell and pictures to show from our trip to WonderCon 2017, and you'll get to hear most of it in THIS podcast! However, you won't hear the panel that took place on Saturday, April 1st, until our NEXT podcast, coming next week. For this podcast, you'll hear about our visit at the recording studio with Andrea Romano (Voice Director), Joaquim Dos Santos (Exec. Producer), Lauren Montgomery (Co-Exec Producer), Jeremy Shada (Lance), and Kimberly Brooks (Allura). That was a special treat! We'd like to thank Seth, Lexi, and Mac for helping to facilitate that visit for us! Here are some pictures from that visit: We met lots of Voltron fans at WonderCon - some you have already seen on our Twitter account @LetsVoltron - and we mention some of those people in this podcast. Here are those pictures that we talked about on the podcast: Voltron Legendary Defender Cosplay had the biggest showing ever at WonderCon, as there was a huge gathering of people, cosplaying as your favorite characters from the show. Here are some of those pictures: There was an autograph session at WonderCon with all 8 people that were on the Voltron Legendary Defender panel, including Bex Taylor-Klaus, Josh Keaton, Jeremy Shada, Tyler Labine, Kimberly Brooks, Lauren Montgomery, Tim Hedrick, and Joaquim Dos Santos. Fans had waited in line all morning to get a chance to attend this autograph session, and the cast and crew were thankful to see all the fans at this session and at the panel. Here are some pictures from that autograph session: Marc and Greg also give you full access to our interviews that we had with the cast and crew prior to the panel on Saturday, April 1st. Here is a cast photo from that interview session: Join us next week, when we'll conclude our WonderCon coverage with the complete panel audio, and we may even have a WonderCon attendee to help us. We'll also cover the Q&A session for Pidge's Birthday with Bex Taylor-Klaus, and lots more. As always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

Dani DeWald, Voltron Superfan and panel videographer at SDCC, joins Marc and Greg to review her coverage of the Voltron Legendary Defender panel at San Diego Comic-Con. We walk through the entire panel, and give commentary on all the clips, Q & A, and review the Season 1 Soundtrack that was recently released on iTunes. Plus, you need to listen closely to find out how to win variant cover copies of Voltron Legendary Defender #1 Comic, signed by authors Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson. The DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) included panelists Joaquim Dos Santos (Executive Producer), Lauren Montgomery (C0-Executive Producer), and Tim Hedrick (Head Writer). A surprise panelist was added, which makes the audience go crazy! Steven Yeun, who plays Keith, Voltron paladin and pilot of Red Lion, was on the panel and shared his perspective of Season 1 of Voltron Legendary Defender. During the panel review, one of the Q & A questions was if we'd ever hear the original Voltron theme from 1984 used in the new show. Legally, they can't use the original theme in this show, and the producers let the audience know that you will not be hearing the original theme music in this show. So, now that this question is definitively laid to rest, let's celebrate the music of the first season of Voltron Legendary Defender, which is now available as a digital download on iTunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dreamworks-voltron-legendary/id1133408932 Thank you to the creator of the Voltron Legendary Defender theme, Alex Geringas, and the show's musical composers, Brad Breeck and Brian Parkhurst, for this wonderful album of music compiled from the first season of our favorite show on Netflix. Would you like to win 2 variant copies of Lion Forge's Voltron Legendary Defender #1 Comic Book, signed by authors Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson? We had the SDCC Exclusive Variant Cover and the other Variant Cover signed at SDCC by both Tim and Mitch and the Lion Forge Comics booth. Only 1 winner, and yes, you can be anywhere in the world and we'll ship them to you! To be eligible to have a random chance to win, you need to Tweet @LetsVoltron a picture of our "Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast" 8-bit logo or the name, "Let's Voltron" with some of your favorite Voltron gear. You can put the hashtag - #LetsVoltron - on the tweet. Get creative! You only have 1 week from the time of this podcast episode's release. So, entries have to be tweeted in by the end of day, August 7, 2016. We will choose 1 random entry from all the eligible tweets. Your twitter name will be announced as the winner on our Twitter and Facebook pages. Good luck, Voltron Fans! Neil Kaplan (Emperor Zarkon in Voltron Legendary Defender) met up with us on the street at SDCC and told us the stories about some of the fans he interacted in line outside of the Voltron panel room 7 AB, and the fact that he and hundreds of fans did not get into the panel! Here's a picture Marc had with Neil: And here's a picture of the Space Mice stickers that people who asked questions at the panel were given as a thank you for their questions: And of course, the biggest piece of news on the planet is that we will be seeing Season 2 of Voltron Legendary Defender by Late 2016 on Netflix, according to the panelists at SDCC, and we can't wait! Thanks to the Voltron Fans that have watched this show (some people like Dani have seen the full 1st season 23 times!) and have made it so popular! Good Morning Benders and non Benders alike and Welcome to Republic City Dispatch, a radio programme that covered Nick.com's Legend of Korra series! SURPRISE BONUS NETFLIX ANIMATION EPISODE INTERVIEW POD! Korra and Avatar alums Joaquim dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery have teamed up to bring 11 episodes of Voltron: Legendary Defender to Netflix on June 10th 2016! It's time to beat some gums and put on the Ritz with your host Matt Patches who has questions about Voltron and Korra! Hosted by Matt Patches of Fighting In The War Room Now is also a great time to REWATCH the Legend of Korra - you can get all of our episodes in our iTunes feed!
We can't emphasize this enough – please be warned in this podcast, we will be reviewing the entire plot of “The Rise of Voltron”. You WILL want to hear our interview with Lauren Montgomery and Joaquim Dos Santos, but PLEASE STOP listening when we start talking about “The Rise of Voltron” that makes up the first 3 episodes of Voltron Legendary Defender, if you don't want to be spoiled. AFTER you have seen Voltron Legendary Defender on June 10th, at least the first 3 episodes, come back to this podcast and relive "The Rise of Voltron” with us! We think you will really enjoy hearing from Lauren and Joaquim, talking about the show they've been working on for the last 2 years. There's a lot of exclusive insight, that you won't be able to get anywhere else. We want to thank Lauren, Joaquim, DreamWorks, Netflix, and everyone who helped us set up the interview! We don't talk about it in the podcast, but there were two other things that happened after we had recorded this podcast. First, the was a Voltron Art Show on June 4th at the Hero Complex Gallery in downtown Los Angeles. Over 40 different artists contributed to this event. Joaquim, Lauren, Josh Keaton (Shiro), Kimberly Brooks (Allura) and Neil Kaplan (Zarkon) dropped by for the opening night. You can go here (http://hcgart.com/collections/voltron) to order your own pieces of Voltron art, or if you are in the L.A. Area, you can still see the exhibition before it closes on June 19th. Second, we heard that Sideshow Collectibles is putting the Voltron Maquette on Pre-Order on Thursday, June 9th, the day before Voltron Legendary Defender comes out on Netflix. However, this Voltron is unlike any Voltron you've seen before – at is is the design Will Harbottle and the team at Sideshow envisioned as the Voltron they would want to see in a live-action movie. It's price has still not been published anywhere, and we expect we will all know when it goes on pre-order at http://www.sideshowtoy.com/whats-new/voltron-maquette/ on June 9th. Go here to see the Voltron Maquette trailer, which shows Voltron in all his glory: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/whats-new/voltron-maquette/ For those of you who wanted to know about the global availability of Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix, this is the availability news we are getting from the Media site on Netflix.com: The series will be available to Netflix members in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux, France and DACH beginning June 10. Excluding Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Japan, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Middle East and Russia. For those of you who live in an area that doesn't have Voltron on Netflix, please make sure you direct your inquiries to the Netflix division that handles your regional area. The more people that cry out for truly global distribution of Voltron, the faster you can get the Defender you love. Just like we are being respectful to all fans by warning them of spoilers about the show in this podcast, please remember that several regions of the world are not able to see this yet when you communicate on social media.
