David Perry is a firm believer that the ability to relate in conversation on a whole host of different topics will create opportunities for meaningful connections that can help you grow your business. Join us for this episode of Push to be More as he shares his thoughts on leadership, how he deals with challenges and the importance of learning something about everything and everything about something! Here's some of the great stuff that we cover in this show:David moved to England in the early 1990s. He got involved with the game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which was a huge success and led to Playmates Toys funding his own video game company, Shiny Entertainment. From there, he went on to have an incredibly successful career in video games, e-commerce businesses, and more - all thanks to taking advantage of opportunities as they arose.David discusses the idea of levelling up. In a video game, every little thing you do progresses you towards the next level. This keeps people playing. In life too, sometimes people get stuck and don't move forward If they don't know what the next stage is, or can't see themselves getting closer to a goal.According to David, titles are not important in a company. He talks about how to use the idea of levelling up in leadership by finding 10Xers (talented people who just work it out) and hiring those who think outside the box.David talks about the importance of continuous growth and learning new things, even if they don't seem immediately relevant. He recounts a story of how he got free servers for his startup by cold-calling companies from Wikipedia and how such attitude gets things done.Learning something about everything and everything about something is a philosophy David consciously adopted which has led him to some amazing opportunities in his life.-----------------------ABOUT DAVEDavid Perry is an innovative leader in the gaming industry whose technology has shaped how we see gaming today and in the future. His work with Gaikai led to Sony PlayStation acquiring his company to establish itself in streaming video games from the cloud - PlayStation Now.David now finds himself as the CEO of Carro, a partnership e-commerce network designed for Shopify brands. By teaming up with other companies in the same space, over 30,000 brands using Carro are able to improve brand recognition, sales volume and acquire new customers.-----------------------For complete show notes, transcript and links to our guest, check out our website: www.pushtobemore.com.

We had trouble finding it on iTunes, but here is a link to his Facebook Page for the Podcast Group, where if you request to join, maybe you can get Trevor to bring back this podcast: https://www.facebook.com/groups/8769482898/ Trevor hosted an episode with Voltron Force voice actors back in 2011. New York Toy Fair (Feb 18-21, 2017) brought a new wave of Voltron Legendary Defender Playmates Toys to the forefront, and Let's Voltron Podcast is grateful to Grant Birchmeier and Sarah Fetter for joining us on this podcast to talk about their experience at NYTF and what they learned firsthand from Playmates Toys. Grant Birchmeier is a longtime giant cartoon robot fan who collects Voltron merchandise and has been a longtime contributor on Voltron forums, posting as GrantB. On twitter, you can follow him @GrantBirchmeier. Sarah Fetter was on our 3rd Anniversary Podcast and we met her at New York Comic Con. She travels around the world to many conventions and trade shows, year-round, as part of her job, where she handles relationships with licensors and promotes business development. She is also a huge Voltron fan, and has cosplayed as Shiro. Sarah is on twitter @SarahKFetter Both Sarah and Grant were able to get inside the Playmates Toys booth at NYTF to see the current Voltron Legendary Defender toys as well as the second wave of toys that will be coming out in Fall 2017. We've talked about these toys and displayed them in pictures on our last podcast - LetsVoltron.com/89, but in this podcast, Grant and Sarah answer some of the burning questions and go into great detail about what they learned from being up close and personal with this new wave of Voltron toys. We also talk about the great things we learned about the marketing surrounding Voltron Legendary Defender in 2017. Here are some additional pictures that Sarah took that were not posted in our last podcast: Greg's nephews, Cody and Cory, also appear in this podcast, in a short interview Greg had with them about the Legendary Lions set from Playmates Toys, to get a perspective on the toys from kids who have played with them. Lastly, we need to let everyone know that our Voltron Retro Commercial Sweepstakes has been extended, indefinitely, until we get enough entries to complete the 30-second Retro commercial we'll be putting together from all the entries of the 15-second videos we receive from all of you. Official rules are available at LetsVoltron.com/85 As always, Thanks for listening! Let's Voltron!!
Marc and Greg review Episode 2 of Season 2: The Depths. Plus, our Voltron Fan Spotlight is on Nami. And we preview New York Toy Fair, with some pictures taken by our on-the-spot-reporter, Sarah Fetter. More info on NYTF coming soon, but the big news concerns Season 3, and how many seasons we may get at a minimum. Let's keep going with New York Toy Fair, which took place in New York City, from February 18-21. We have some exclusive pics taken by Sarah Fetter, who was on our 3rd Anniversary podcast previously at LetsVoltron.com/82. These pics are directly from the Playmates Toys Booth at NYTF, which was showing prototypes of Wave 2 toys from the Voltron Legendary Defender line of toys, as well as the existing Wave 1 line. The key news takeaways from Sarah's visit involved what will be occurring later this year. A card on the wall gave important information about what's to come for Voltron Legendary Defender: 1. Voltron Legendary Defender is a key element of Netflix's push for original family content. Currently, the commitment is to 78 episodes total. Who knows? If this becomes the Juggernaut we hope it becomes, there may be contract extensions which add episodes to this commitment. It all depends on how well the merchandise surrounding the show sells. 2. 26 episodes were scheduled for 2017. The first 13 (Season 2) were released on Netflix on January 20th. Season 3 is expected in September 2017. No specific date has been set. 3. Netflix will be debuting 10 Episodes of Classic Voltron in March, with new content added. Speculation is running rampant on this, and we will get more information on this as it becomes available. This is exciting to see! 4. Additional Second Screen content will be provided before Easter, with additional content occurring throughout the summer of 2017. We're not sure, but this could mean a tablet/smartphone app or other content accessed by a website. Just guessing. 5. Finally, cross-category marketing events will be occurring throughout the year, including a Burger King kids meal promotion. Can't wait to see Voltron Legendary Defender everywhere we go! Now, with that exciting news, comes the pics of a new wave of Playmates Toys Voltron Legendary Defender items, including the 5 Paladins in their uniforms, where the helmets actually come off, and they include bayard accessories (Shiro has his purple hand). Other basic figures are Emperor Zarkon and the Robeast from both Seasons 1 and 2 on the Balmera. Die-Cast lions will be available, which combine into an 8-inch Die-Cast Voltron. And Mega Lions will be available with Pilot figures that sit in the cockpit. These included pilot figures have helmets that do not come off. It looks like Red and Blue Lions will be available first, with additional Lions available later. This wave of toys is expected in the Fall of 2017, in time for Christmas. Here are those exclusive pics from Sarah Fetter. Thank you, Sarah! In this podcast, Marc and Greg review Episode 2 from Season 2, The Depths. This episode, which stars Lance and Hunk and a number of mermaids, sees our heroes trying to get back to the Castleship after falling to the depths of an ocean on a distant planet, only to get caught up in a mermaid adventure that sees Hunk and Lance in a very precarious situation. Greg Tyler officially becomes the new co-host with Marc Morrell, as they welcome Jonathan Shykofsky to the podcast to talk about TRENDMASTERS Prototype Toys, especially the ones from Voltron: The Third Dimension. Before Marc and Greg interview Jonathan Shykofsky, they talk about a few current events happening with Voltron. 1 - Deadpool is a Voltron Fan! 2 - Voltron: Legendary Defender is the name of the Voltron series on Netflix, coming later this year. Nerdist broke with an exclusive story, including a poster that includes a logo for the show, and a silhouette of Voltron in the background. 3 - It was announced at New York Toy Fair 2016 that Playmates Toys would launch the toy line for Voltron: Legendary Defender in Spring 2017. Jonathan Shykofsky tells us about his background as an animator for Arthur and Caillou, before becoming a TRENDMASTERS Prototype Toy Collector, thanks to Slimer, Godzilla, Osmosis Jones and Iron Giant. Jonathan has great stories to tell about his passion for researching, finding and acquiring the whole TRENDMASTERS line of prototypes, many that came from the original designers themselves. The Voltron: The Third Dimension show spawned a number of prototypes that never made it into production, including Dracotron and Voltrex Cycles. We'd like to share with you a number of pictures that Jonathan has graciously allowed us to post on this page:
We can finally show you some footage from our July 2012 peek inside the secret bunker at the heart of Playmates Toys where V.P. of Product Development Ray Geiman gave us a sneak preview of some upcoming TMNT figures and more.
