Marc shares everything that happened at SDCC with Greg, who is hearing it for the first time, including interviews with Bex Taylor-Klaus, Jeremy Shada, Rhys Darby, Josh Hamilton, Lauren Montgomery, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Kyle Anderson. Also, we cover the Voltron panel, signings, SDCC exclusives, and we are excited to announce the winner of the Voltron Season 6 Prize Pack, and introduce a new SDCC Voltron Prize Pack and how to enter to win it! One of the first things we talk about is an announcement made for a Voltron book coming in 2019 by Andrew Farago, who had Original Voltron Director Franklin Cofod on a panel called Totally Awesome: The Greatest Cartoons of the 80's. His Voltron book will be called Voltron: The Ultimate Visual History, published by Insight Editions in 2019. Of course, we will have Andrew on the podcast when that book is released! Of course, we know you all want to hear about the interviews we had with the Cast and Crew of Voltron Legendary Defender! So, in addition to hearing them on the podcast, you can also WATCH them on our YouTube Channel! Here is the link to each interview: Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge) and Jeremy Shada (Lance) - https://youtu.be/EsIjNl4ZTYg Rhys Darby (Coran) and Josh Hamilton (Story Editor) - https://youtu.be/DVZiADaPyvw Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) - https://youtu.be/o9MGSRAL2so And... as an added special bonus, we have an interview with the Moderator of the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC, the Associate Editor at Nerdist, and the Host of a brand new VLD Episode Commentary Podcast called FORM PODCAST - Kyle Anderson - https://youtu.be/3O5NG2EQ58E We also wanted to mention that Voltron Legendary Defender's Legendary Voice Director Andrea Romano was brought out of retirement to do an episode commentary for Form Podcast, but Marc was also able to interview Andrea, because she was also brought back for the Batman: The Animated Series Panel at SDCC. We were so happy to talk to Andrea Romano again!! Also, we covered the Voltron Legendary Defender Panel at SDCC and the signings of both the cast and crew at the autograph area AND Tim Hedrick and Mitch Iverson at the Lion Forge Booth for the Voltron Legendary Defender Comics, Vol 3, Issue 1 SDCC Exclusive Variant Cover! There were also SDCC Voltron Exclusives for: LEGO Ideas Voltron, which we covered in our last podcast, but can't help talking about AGAIN, because it's so awesome!!!! Don't forget, EVERYONE can get their own LEGO Ideas Voltron on August 1, 2018 at Shop.LEGO.com or at ANY LEGO Store in the world! Playmates Toys Hyperphase Voltron, which is a beautiful set I picked up at the Entertainment Earth booth! Bandai Super MiniPla Voltron Model Set with the exclusive Blazing Sword! Han Cholo Classic Voltron Membership Kit and VLD Enamel Pins, Blue Lion Ring and Bayard Pendants! Here are some of our pictures from everything we mentioned here: We were so excited about the announcements for Season 7 being 13 episodes, coming to Netflix on August 10, and that the remaining 13-episode drop will occur before the end of this year, so we are thinking December, but don't quote us! And it is certainly cool that we will have a complete 78-episode Voltron story on Netflix , we will be sad when it is all over, because it is such an amazing series. We want to thank the whole cast and crew of Voltron Legendary Defender at DreamWorks Animation, all the animators at Studio Mir, and all the people at Universal, DreamWorks, Team Click and Netflix who have allowed us to cover everything for Voltron. Thank you! On our next podcast, we'll be reviewing episodes 2, 3 and 4 of Season 6 of Voltron Legendary Defender with K-Lionheart, who designed Dungeons and Voltron for us when she appeared on the podcast as our Voltron Fan Artist Spotlight. The next podcast after that, we'll be reviewing episodes 5, 6 and 7 of Season 6 of Voltron Legendary Defender with Donya Abramo, writer for Hypable, and a podcast veteran herself. She recently wrote a post-SDCC article on Hypable that we all love. Please check it out here: https://www.hypable.com/voltron-shiro-lgbt-disability-importance/ As Always, Thank You for Listening! Blood Duel Razor's Edge All Good Things Although we had hundreds of questions sent in by Voltron fans everywhere around the world, we could not possibly get them all in during a 30-minute interview, so we asked the questions that fans repeated the most, and we did say thanks to everyone who sent in questions, so you'll get to hear your name during the podcast. A Huge "Thank you" to Josh Hamilton for joining us, and to DreamWorks Animation for setting up the interview! As you may have heard, DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender is having a panel and signing at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC)! DreamWorks Animation Television is set to present an explosive Voltron Legendary Defender panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, debuting the premiere episode of the highly-anticipated seventh season of the critically-acclaimed Netflix original series. Limited Voltron Legendary Defender Signing (Ticketed) Saturday, July 21, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Autograph Area at San Diego Convention Center A limited DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender signing with Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Rhys Darby, and Bex Taylor-Klaus will take place on Saturday in the Autograph Area at the San Diego Convention Center. Drawing for Line Tickets to be held Saturday at 9:00 am in the Autograph Area. Take a look at the poster: Yesterday, it was announced that LEGO Ideas Voltron 21311 Set will be available to buy on August 1, 2018! We had LEGO Ideas Designer Lendy Tayag on our podcast to talk all about when his design hit 10,000 supporters (http://www.letsvoltron.com/58) and when his design had been approved to have the set go into production (http://www.letsvoltron.com/107) Here is a quote from LEGO Designer Niek Duco van Slagmaat, who's task it was to turn Lendy's design into an actual product that can be assembled using instructions provided in the set. Here's his quote: "Let’s go Voltron Force! I cannot put into words how much this model means to me. When it hit 10k votes, I started working on models to try and prove that we could do something like this. Now, almost 2 years later, it’s really happening! I have Samuel Johnson to thank for fighting to allow me to work on this project and Lendy for getting it to 10k with his awesome model. From the very beginning, the consensus was that we could not make this as a LEGO product, so it was my job to prove people wrong. To kick reason to the curb and do the impossible! By not giving up and continuing to smash our heads into the wall, we made it possible. Crucial points in a mech this size are the joints. Most of the development time on this product was relentlessly churning out shoulder and elbow joints just to have them be rejected for any number of reasons by our rigorous quality department. I went through at least 30 different shoulder builds and about 20 full iterations of Voltron in designing this model. As a fan-builder myself, I was eager to get some good recolors into this set for people that like to build their own stuff, like the ingot and a whole host of drum lacquered pieces! This set also features a number of decorations, my favorite being the 2x2 grey tile with mechanical detail. This was designed to be a perfect fit, but also a good element to be used in your own creations as a finishing touch. Graphic designer Mark Tranter did a fantastic job. I really hope you will enjoy building this model, I poured my heart and soul into making this a reality!" Here are the details about this wonderful new LEGO Ideas 21311 Voltron Set: Features 5 buildable and posable lions that can be transformed and combined to create the giant Voltron super robot. Play with the lions individually or combine them using extra-strong joints to form Voltron—the black lion forms the head and torso; the red and green lions form the arms; and the yellow and blue lions form the legs. Pose the head, shoulders, arms and wrists of Voltron (legs are not posable). Also includes a sword and shield (each with silver-colored elements) that attach firmly to Voltron’s hands. Includes a booklet with building instructions, plus information about the set’s fan creator and super force of LEGO® designers. This set includes over 2,321 pieces. Display or play out exciting stories from the original 1980s animated Voltron TV series and the modern DreamWorks Voltron: Legendary Defender series. Voltron measures over 15” (40cm) high, 5” (14cm) long and 8” (21cm) wide. Black lion measures over 6” (17cm) high, 8” (22cm) long and 5” (15cm) wide. Yellow and blue lions each measure over 3” (8cm) high, 8” (21cm) long and 3” (8cm) wide. Green and red lions each measure over 3” (8cm) high, 7” (18cm) long and 1” (5cm) wide. Voltron’s sword measures 11” (29cm) long. Voltron’s shield measures 6” (16cm) in diameter. LEGO Voltron will be available from shop.LEGO.com/Voltron and LEGO stores around the world from the 1st of August, 2018 for a recommended retail price of USD/EURO* 179.99 / GBP 159.99. If you're itching to get your copy of 21311 Voltron as soon as possible then we can reveal that this set will be available early for LEGO VIP members on the 23rd July, 2018! Remember it's free to become a LEGO VIP member! This segment will share our thoughts on something cool and interesting from the Voltron Universe. In this podcast, we talk about how different the first episode of Beast King GoLion is compared to that episode edited for Voltron: Defender of the Universe when it first aired in 1984. We couldn't wait to talk about everything Voltron that happened at San Diego Comic-Con, and since Greg was not able to attend, he is experiencing the whole story, interviews, panel and all, just like the listeners of this podcast. But while Marc (and his wife Kim), Shambhavi, Shamus, and Dani were all in San Diego, Greg was creating his own magic, putting together a great video review of the Voltron Legendary Defender Metal Defender Series Diecast Lions Set. You can watch Greg's very thorough review on our YouTube Channel! Here are some pics from our trip to San Diego Comic-Con: We also announced the 2 winners of a Voltron SDCC Prize Pack. On July 28th, to celebrate Lance's birthday, Jeremy Shada was interviewed on Facebook LIVE for a Q&A, where he answered fan questions, had some donut cake, saw some fan art that fans had made for Lance, and received a set of the Voltron Legendary Defender Metal Defender Series Lions from Playmates Toys. Here's a few pictures from that event: On our next podcast, we are happy to announce we will be interviewing the newest cast member of Voltron Legendary Defender, the voice of Prince Lotor, AJ LoCascio. The team must quickly devise a plan as the ascension of Prince Lotor and his generals pulls the team into a perilous game of cat-and-mouse that tests their unity and abilities more than ever before. Here's a brand new trailer to get you excited for FRIDAY on Netflix: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy6BXq0Pg6A&feature=youtu.be Finally, we want to honor a very special person who just announced she's retiring: Voltron Legendary Defender Voice Director Andrea Romano. WonderCon attendee Nicole(Das_Hazel on Twitter) joins Marc and Greg to cover the Voltron Legendary Defender panel that occurred on Sat., April 1, 2017. You'll hear the complete audio from the panel, captured by our friend, Dani DeWald. There will be lots of commentary around everything that happened during the panel, and we'll conclude with a few things that happened at WonderCon, other than the panel, and give you info on how to enter to win a signed lithograph from all 8 participants of the panel. During the Voltron Legendary Defender panel, each of the voice actors, Tyler Labine (Hunk), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge), Josh Keaton (Shiro), Kimberly Brooks (Allura), and Jeremy Shada (Lance), talked about their character's story arc and how it may have changed from Season 1 to Season 2, and all the panelists show clips from their favorite moments from Season 2. Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) announced that Season 3 is coming, but no specific date is set yet. There are two clips about Prince Lotor. The first is an April Fools joke played on the audience. The second is a clip that shows images of Galra forces, with an audio overlay of Prince Lotor talking. So, the audience was able to hear Lotor's voice, but we haven't seen the character, nor do we know who the voice actor is that plays him. The moderator announced several things that were coming up for Voltron Legendary Defender, including a mash-up collaboaration with online game, Puzzle and Dragons (available now), a Kids Meal Promotion with special Voltron Legendary Defender toys at Burger King (available now), Pidge's Birthday on April 3rd with a special Facebook LIVE Q&A with Bex Taylor-Klaus, the Voltron84 release of 12 hand-picked episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe on Netflix (available now), Sticker Packs for IOS (iPhone/iPad iMessage app), where you can send stickers to your friends through text messages, and a new mini-series of Voltron Legendary Defender Comics is coming from Lion Forge Comics on Wednesday, April 26th. There rest of the panel was a Q&A session for fans to ask questions, and for each person that asked a question, Head Writer Tim Hedrick gave out signed story cards used to develop the actual episodes from the show. Marc and Greg also talked about their Griffith Observatory visit, where Emily Eiden (voice of Shay) works, the Hollywood sign, and a dinner with podcast guest Shannon Muir, her husband Kevin, Dani DeWald and Shambhavi Kadam, Marc's wife Kim, and Greg and Marc. If you listen to the end of the podcast, you'll hear how you can enter into a raffle to win a signed lithograph of Blade of Marmora Keith, designed by Joaquim Dos Santos and signed by all 8 people who were on the panel. As Always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!
Marc and Greg talk about their trip to WonderCon 2017, including a visit to a recording studio to see Andrea Romano directing a Voltron Legendary Defender recording session with Jeremy Shada and Kimberly Brooks. Cast and crew were signing autographs and we had interviews with all of them. Also, there was plenty of cosplay, Voltron art, and much, much more! We have lots of stories to tell and pictures to show from our trip to WonderCon 2017, and you'll get to hear most of it in THIS podcast! However, you won't hear the panel that took place on Saturday, April 1st, until our NEXT podcast, coming next week. For this podcast, you'll hear about our visit at the recording studio with Andrea Romano (Voice Director), Joaquim Dos Santos (Exec. Producer), Lauren Montgomery (Co-Exec Producer), Jeremy Shada (Lance), and Kimberly Brooks (Allura). That was a special treat! We'd like to thank Seth, Lexi, and Mac for helping to facilitate that visit for us! Here are some pictures from that visit: We met lots of Voltron fans at WonderCon - some you have already seen on our Twitter account @LetsVoltron - and we mention some of those people in this podcast. Here are those pictures that we talked about on the podcast: Voltron Legendary Defender Cosplay had the biggest showing ever at WonderCon, as there was a huge gathering of people, cosplaying as your favorite characters from the show. Here are some of those pictures: There was an autograph session at WonderCon with all 8 people that were on the Voltron Legendary Defender panel, including Bex Taylor-Klaus, Josh Keaton, Jeremy Shada, Tyler Labine, Kimberly Brooks, Lauren Montgomery, Tim Hedrick, and Joaquim Dos Santos. Fans had waited in line all morning to get a chance to attend this autograph session, and the cast and crew were thankful to see all the fans at this session and at the panel. Here are some pictures from that autograph session: Marc and Greg also give you full access to our interviews that we had with the cast and crew prior to the panel on Saturday, April 1st. Here is a cast photo from that interview session: Join us next week, when we'll conclude our WonderCon coverage with the complete panel audio, and we may even have a WonderCon attendee to help us. We'll also cover the Q&A session for Pidge's Birthday with Bex Taylor-Klaus, and lots more. As always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

Marc takes Let's Voltron "on the road" to the worldwide debut of the Voltron: Legendary Defender cast and crew at WonderCon, with exclusive interviews. You get to listen to Greg's reactions to hearing these interviews for the very first time. Let's Voltron Host, Marc Morrell, took a trip to Los Angeles, California with his wife, Kim (official photographer/videographer), to capture the DreamWorks Animation panel and interviews for Voltron: Legendary Defender. In Part 1 of 2, you will hear Marc recall the experience of WonderCon, and the exuberance of Voltron fans that attended the panel that introduced the world to the cast and crew of Voltron: Legendary Defender, due to come out with an initial block of 13 episodes on June 10th on Netflix. For co-host, Greg Tyler, who is hearing all these interviews for the first time, this podcast gives his genuine reactions to what the cast and crew had to say at WonderCon, after the panel that just exploded like Voltron slicing through robeasts with Blazing Sword. While Marc was at WonderCon, he got to meet face-to-face for the first time with previous podcast guests, Blacky Shepherd and Steven E. Gordon. These Voltron meetups are one of the favorite things for Marc to do as a host of the podcast. You can privately contact either of these great artists through Facebook or Twitter to commision them for a personal Voltron artwork of your choosing. Marc also visited the Sideshow Collectibles booth, where a finished Prototype of the Voltron Maquette was on display, in all of it's colorful glory. The price and date of sale are all "To Be Decided" (TBD), but here are the pictures we promised in close up detail. In the podcast, Greg mentions the Mighty Fine T-shirts that Marc picked up for him at the We Love Fine booth. These were WonderCon exclusives for the new Voltron show, and you can now get them yourself (for $25 each) at these links: http://www.welovefine.com/voltron-space-attack-11257.html http://www.welovefine.com/colored-chestplate-11258.html The Voltron cast was announced at WonderCon, and we talk to all of them, except Neil Kaplan, Steven Yeun, and Cree Summer, during this podcast: Josh Keaton (Hal Jordan in "Green Lantern: The Animated Series") as Shiro Jeremy Shada (Finn the Human in "Adventure Time") as Lance Tyler Labine ("Tucker and Dale vs. Evil") as Hunk Bex Taylor-Klaus ("The Last Witch Hunter") as Pidge Steven Yeun (Glenn in "The Walking Dead") as Keith Kimberly Brooks (Ashley Williams in "Mass Effect") as Princess Allura Rhys Darby ("Flight of the Conchords") as Coran Neil Kaplan ("Transformers: Robots in Disguise") as Zarkon Cree Summer ("A Different World") as Haggar Joaqim Dos Santos ("The Legend of Korra") - Executive Producer Lauren Montgomery ("The Legend of Korra") - Co-Executive Producer Tim Hedrick ("The Legend of Korra") - Story Editor In Part 2 of the podcast, coming next week, Marc and Greg bring 2 other guests who attended the panel at WonderCon onto the podcast to review everything that happened at the panel. Your guests will be Shannon Muir and Dani DeWald. Both are mentioned in Part 1 as well. Marc announced in this podcast that we will be revealing the winner of a Voltron: Legendary Defender lithograph, signed by the whole cast and crew of the Netflix series that were at the panel at WonderCon. From all of people who submitted questions to our email that were asked to the talent and showrunners of Voltron: Legendary Defender, we will pick one winner at random. That winner will be announced in our Parts 2 podcast next week. Here is a picture of that lithograph: Sorry that this podcast was so long, but we have a wonderful panel to talk about and guests to review it with us, coming next week on Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast.
