On this week's episode, Paul talks to Mr.David Hine about The Marked, the second of his projects for Image Shadowline with Brian Haberlin. Volume 1 is available now from your local comics stockist, along with #6, which kicks off the second arc of the series. In an interview originally recorded for Orbital Comics in London, David discusses his writing process, the politics that inspire his comics, the state of the industry and the uncomfortable nature of being a salesman. David recorded this interview after having just attended an Extinction Rebellion protest in London and we also discuss our hopes for the youth movement in politics and society. It's safe to say that this a conversation you wouldn't get on any other comics show. On Episode 5, Paul chats to Mike Perkins, one of the best artists working today about his pencils and inks on DC's Lois Lane, written by Greg Rucka.Mike discusses life as an ex-pat artist, the benefits of working for 'the Big Two', his process and the characters he'd still love to work on. This interview was recorded in front of a live audience at London's Orbital Comics. The interview takes a few surprising turns, not least of all Mike being interrupted by a text from Greg Rucka mid-way through the talk! This chat proves to be funny, insightful and educational both about artistic technique and the comics business. I’m not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together recording a podcast. Are you an interior decorator? Because when I saw you, the entire room became beautiful and full of amazing pod-content. Are you a camera? Because every time I look at you, I smile and leave a comment in the comments. Did you sit in a pile of sugar? Cause you have a pretty sweet ass. PODC-ASS-T THAT IS AMIRIGHT?? It’s the two! Back again! Unbeatable Benny Grimm Hello, and welcome to episode 126 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. And we're back. This week, Steve and Andy are joined once again by Chris Thompson of Orbital Comics in Conversation to take a look at Fantastic Four #110, and hopefully answer the question of just how Reed Richards can escape the ever-watchful eye of Annihilus in the Negative Zone. We're also taking a brief look at Avengers #88, with plotting by SF legend Harlan Ellison. We've also got mention of the first credited female creator on the Fantastic Four (sort of), more ABBA than you can shake a Pierce Brosnan-shaped stick at, a radical reinterprtation of the catchiest theme tune of 2015, and a superb Harlan Ellison anecdote. No Smoking Except In The Designated (Negative) Zones Hello, and welcome to episode 125 of The Fantasticast. Each week, Steve Lacey and Andy Leyland guide you through every issue, guest-appearance and cameo of The Fantastic Four. This week, we're returning to the Negative Zone for the second full appearance of Annihilus, The Death That Walks, in Fantastic Four #109. As befits the return of one of our favourite villains (and Janus, the Nega-Man), we've roped in a special guest host. The Pop Culture Hound himself, Chris Thompson, joins us from Orbital Comics to explore  this issue. As well as being joined by one of the best comics creator interviewers out there, we find the time to discuss just what exactly the point of an extend-o-platform is, casual racism towards gargoyles, Reed Richards in the 25th Century, and Clive Dunn. Yes, Clive Dunn. No, I'm not explaining why - you'll have to listen for that! Chris's podcast backlog can be found at popculturehound.net.
