Voice of the People: Radio by and for the 99%Lucas Moody, Soundman Jim and Mark investigate our Word of the Week: “DSA.” Therefore we will give a brief description of what DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) stands for and some Montana DSA electoral history. We will then look at recent DSA national election successes and the reactions its getting from some Democrats. Then we turn to the frightened response of the Trump Administration about DSA successes by their attempt to impose a Red Scare 3.0. Next we hear from Lucas with his Missoula City Council Report. Then we turn to Andy Boyd who talks about his research into Montana Democratic Party shenanigans in the US Senate race. Then we hear from Leticia Staff on Missoula Community Hospital and their planned elimination of a bedside physician in the hospital's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Finally we cover a success story of a concession workers union victory in Los Angeles.anchor.fm/vop-montana
SPOILER ALERT: Dan did not in fact "fix it in post."

Sorry.

For World Radio Day 2026, we visit WMMT in Whitesburg, Kentucky, one of many small community radio stations in the US existentially threatened by cuts to government funding. At a moment when news has become increasingly polarised, these stations are even more needed, often providing communities with their only source of essential information and emergency warnings. WMMT was founded in 1985 with a mission to “be a voice of mountain people's music, culture and social issues.” Known to listeners as "Possum Radio" or "Real People Radio," WMMT broadcasts to the coalfield communities of eastern Kentucky and neighbouring Appalachian counties, home to people whose voices are among the least heard in the United States. Station manager Jared Hamilton is scrambling to raise funds to keep it on the air. At this critical moment in America's history, the station is helping to keep the community steady with one foor in Appalachia's traditions and the other in the future.
The kings of controversary are with their bro, Dokomoy to watch and discuss MLW's eighth Battle Riot. They may or may not discuss other wrestling and the Beatles
First Sami Callihan and now Sami D. The streets of heaven are too crowded with angels, but somehow we carry on. We talk about 2026 wrestling and reveal some preferences. Check it out.
Another easy, breezy awards show episode. This one is the finale, so you know we are going to wrap this up in no time. We are down one panelist from last episode, Tanner, dead unfortunately. On this episode we give out prestigious awards for:- Promotion of the Year- Tag Team of the Year- Wrestler of the Year
After a taking a break in 2024, we needed to bring it back. It is what the people have been craving for. That is right, a senseless wrestling debate show the crowns the Objective best of all the things in wrestling 2025. We have practically talented bunch of panelists this year looking to give you the best in audio and the best in wrestling. A brisk sub 3 hour conversation. On this episode we crown:- Hoot of the Year- Show of the Year- Match of the Year
Fully loaded show where 3/4 hosts decided to show up on time. Not a bad percentage if it was our Free Throw percentage in the NCAA I suppose. Topics of discussion include:- Skate Estate- Tyler Black's Nazi Girlfriend- Avisman- 2CW's Patreon/ YouTube channel- Buying a mug from us
Pat has entered retirement in solidarity with the late, great Brinley Reece. Orchid fills into their orthopedic shoes. Topics of discussion this week include:- Matches people like that are actually ass- The latest from The Junkyard- Jerry "The King" Lawler, the man behind the crown- 2CW's Patreon- The best Human Centipede movieAnd so much more
I will be the first to admit, I was surprised when Dan told me he wanted to quit the podcast. Especially after all the wonderful things he said about us during the Season of Giving over on Wrestling Playlists.Oh well, we move on. Potential new co-host Orchid joins us this week to talk all things Shane Douglas. This is an episode you do not want to missFollow Orchid on Twitter: https://x.com/livelaughlbomb
On this episode we discover that the titles and descriptions we use make it nearly impossible to know what was talked about on any given episode. We have backed ourselves completely into a corner. To better help in the future, I'm going to list out some topics for help:- Slade- The Family Stone- Dan shirking all responsibility
This week's episode of VPR is a whodunit mystery. Please stick with us for all the twists and turns to come on this episode.
The normal four host all died in freak Finale Destination like incidents. Chris, Dan, Pat, and guest host Cole pay tribute to Sam in the only way they know how with an in-depth and comprehensive discussion on all the latest pro wrestling.
We replaced Sam, who's MIA, with Padraig. Padraig is writing about the best wrestling match in the history of every state. We discuss and ramble about wrestling in various states we've lived. You can check out Padraig's Project here:https://x.com/padraiggav?s=21We also discuss in much more depth our starting 5 NBA lineups made up of horror movie characters..
"This is one for the books" - Dan"Why aren't people hiring me?" - Michael Elgin"I'm not an embarrassment" - Prestige Promoter
On this episode, we pay tribute to a legend. The one and only, shodate. A person we didn't have as long as we should have. Born in southern Chicago, grew up one of three kids. Their mom worked two jobs trying to make ends meet. It was a tough life, but she made the best of it. I hope she knows she raised a good one. With this tournament, we pay tribute to their memory. A beautiful mind that saw wrestling for all that it could be. A force for good. Listen as we talked about his stories and the matches that we feel he too would have loved.
On this HUGE episode of Violent People Radio, we talk about America's greatest living artist, Paul Walter Hauser, and his recent tour de force performance. There is nothing quite like an all-time great professional wrestling match to remind you why we watch this stuff. Every host on this show was sweating profusely just talking about the FIGHT WITHOUT HONOR bout. Elsewhere on the show we talk about:This sick tag match https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrIdHq8LSa8Pats excellent time with some IWA Mid-SouthMissing Rachel SummerlynDan's woesGive us a listen and leave us that dreamy 5 star review on your podcast platform of choice
Another week, another episode of mind-tickling discussion from the best around. We pay tribute to one of the 100 greatest wrestlers ever, Sami Callihan. Starting from the beginning of his career and working towards his recent retirement, no one covers wrestling like Violent People Wrestling.Of course we have the guys talking about the wrestling they've been watching. Highlights include Ruthless Pro Wrestling's King of the King 3 and [REDACTED IN SUPPORT OF UNION BOYCOTT] and sleep.
Dan Rice is an absolute coward and did not show up this week. Luckily, we have the courageous Cole bringing the heat. When Cole shows up that raises everyone's game. We know he's going to come in, having watched a surplus of wrestling, and we need to be ready to go bar-for-bar. Anyway, this is a movie podcast.PS Sam apologizes for his dog
Sam is back and we have a packed show. So much TNA and JCW talk. Oh, and of course listen for our in depth deep dive preview into WWE's AAA Triplemania. You will get dizzy trying to keep up. I would almost recommend not trying. But you are who you are so you must. On this week's episode the gang(minus Sam) analyze and discuss The Saint and The Savior, a screenplay penned by Michael Elgin. I am very confident this is the first podcast to obtain and discuss this cinematic masterpiece.I guess wrestling is discussed as well. I don't know.
On this week's episode, we talk about the Greatest Match Ever project. An annual project hosted on a forum like the good old days. We go through the list, talk about snubs, highlights, and what we want to see done differently. We hit a few other topics along the way.
We have the incredible Phil Schneider on this week's episode to talk all things Way of the Blade: AEW Edition. We have become a touring spot for the Hybrid Shoot books, and lovely to chat Phil's ear off. If there feels like there is an abrupt edit, blame Pat.Sorry. Chris couldn't make it, the computer fought back.Order a copy today: https://www.amazon.com/Way-Blade-AEW-Phil-Schneider-ebook/dp/B0F89MD7TF
